I'm not sure what to say, I guess I just really hated this book. This series actually. I'm not one to usually write bad reviews but here it goes...
First the good stuff:
I liked Ares
I liked The Guardians
They were the best characters
The plot/story is actually quite good, and I enjoyed the world building
The thing that ruined this story for me is the main character.
Warning to you .. there are spoilers.
Freyja She is the most manipulative main character I've ever had to endure! I'm really not

Great book!

I loved the first book and was too excited to read the second and final book in the The First Witch series. It wasn’t like any paranormal / YA fantasy book I’ve read before. I’m sure it’s not even a YA because of the intimate scenes, but no complaints here as I’ve enjoyed them myself, lol.

So this just picked up where the first book left off, with Freyja surrounded by angels who are going to bring her to the Dark Lord. Thankfully, there were no more (o

Love Transforms Lust

Freyja and Ares continue their approach-avoidance conflicting relationship. I love observing the action as Ares tries to have it all, Freyja and the First Witch and how as their relationship matures, he refines his choice. Freyja lusts for Ares as he does for her, but she wants to be loved for herself not for what others perceive she as the First Witch can do for Ares. For me, the delectability of the yin yang of their relationship is the most enjoyable part of the story. The

This book wasn't as good as the first one. It was still well-written, action-packed, and I still mostly enjoyed it, but I feel like so much was left unsaid at the end. What happened with the turmoil within the king and between Ares and his brothers? That was just pushed aside? I also felt like the timing was off. Yes, I know lust rode both of them hard throughout the first book and well into this book, but with an army of Angels hell bent on capturing you, I think maybe a little nookie should be ...more

I'm so glad Freyja and Ares finally came to their senses. Loved when Freyja got her wings. It was so cute how Ventus had a crush on Belinda.

Destiny at long last

The quest is ongoing and our heroine just wants to get to the Fey. Our hero has other ideas though and once he commits he won't stop until she is his. These two are in the mating dance but to stubborn to see it and to hard headed to surrender to it.

Hot and enjoyable read, with substantial adult content and many steamy scenes that overlap with the adventurous plot.
On the run from Angel army, Freyja, Ares and their companions are headed to Twilight realm to get a cure for Freyjas curse that is now catching up with her prematurely. The hotn cold relationship between the Dragonian prince and the First Witch explodes when Ares finally gives up the pursuit for his fated mate and chooses Freyja as his queen. But everything is far from over, sinc

The wait is over as the final book completing Freyja and Ares’ story is here. The author takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of ups and downs and throws in Freyja’s grandfather, a highly wicked individual, to heighten the drama.
Freyja is still trying to stay alive and outrun the angel army with Ares by her side. She is looking for the cure for her curse and that takes her to the Twilight realm. During this time the tension between Freyja and Ares comes to a head. Ares decides to f

Oh yeah!

Was the plot in the sequence expected? Hmmm..yes and no :-)
Why yes? Because I was expecting that novel pace will be quick, witty and great like in first part. And of course, happy end was expected.
Why not? Why - was clear, but much clearer in second part. Where and how – that was unexpected and great. How all ended was also unexpected (it was happy, but...).
Freyja and Ares were great like in first part. Need to say that Ares totally charmed me and has proved all that needed to Freyja. F

I have fallen in love with Meg Xuemei X's books so far. This one is no different. I loved the writing style how well it was written. I loved the characters and how well they interacted with each other. There is drama, mystery, romance, and even some suspense in this story. It is fabulous to the point you can't put it down until you reach the end of the story. This is a must read after you read the first one. You have to find out how it ends. You won't believe how the story plays out and then you ...more

What a ending

Kindle unlimited purchase

Ares and Freyja’s story continues in this fast paced tale of love and secrets... As with book one you will love the characters and want them to have that happy ending... Every question that is brought up in book one is answered in this last book in the series... Enjoyed the sneak peek of the new series coming out called the wicked witch.. looking forward to reading it.. I recommend this series to 18 and over as the sexual content is out in left field...

I tore through this novel (good thing it's digital not paper) in a day and greatly enjoyed the second half of Frejas and Ares story. Lots of action, romance and intimate scenes. The only complaint I have is the ending has a few loose threads with Ares half brothers and the Dark Angel. Overall, an excellent read. * I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I enjoyed the book but...

So I'm going to start with stay I read both of these books in one shot so of I screw up what went where that's why.

Let's start with the opening of this novel. The first half breaks off mid scene, but instead of picking up at the same spot this one has needless back story then rephrases the scene slightly different than it began in the previous novel which was irritating.

Next the book needs editing, there are sentences where the same word is repeated bit on different ten

Interesting story fell flat

The first book, I liked it enough to continue on. It was unique in some aspects and I wondered what would happen.

But this book made me hate both of the main characters. And poor Lucas (the shifter boy) got stringed along to be some half ass love triangle sacrifice.

The main character keeps telling her how much women he could get and how he is the man all women want - - - and she keeps coming back for more and tell lie after lie after lie. Plus towards the end, she beca

This one missed

I just didn't care for this one at all. First was an issue I thought was unique to the Empress of Mysth storyline. I now fear this is this authors norm and I don't like it. We spent 90% of the story with the H/h in conflict and dragging things way out past their use by date. It really dragged and got monotonous. She spent the book jealous of herself. She also spent it lying at every turn. She was aggressive and stubborn to the point it became an unattractive fault. As a romantic f

Promising storyline with very poor execution

I usually try to be positive with ratings, but giving this a 2 is already a stretch for me. I'm not really sure why I read this book. Although the storyline was promising and some of the characters such as Ares and the Dragonians were good, the main lead female was ridiculous.
90% if this book is her being jealous of herself and hurting the person who is meant to be her mate, yes they mate but then the book seems to become more about the sex scenes the
This is for both book 1 and 2. I still don't know what to think after reading them. I did stay up very late to finish both of them, but I am just very confused at if I should really really like it or not. It wasn't overly horrible, but I wouldn't say they were the greatest I've read either. It had a whole mash up of everything in genres, mythologies and history all crammed into the series. It's kind of like if you have a bunch of leftovers and you don't know what to do with it, so you just decid ...more

This was my first book by Meg Xuemei X. This is the second book in The First Witch duet, a Paranormal Romance. I haven't read the first book in the Series. The story is well written, entertaining and captivating. The main characters Freyja and Ares are great together, and they share a strong chemistry. The secondary characters are also interesting. The storyline is suspenseful, filled with mystery and romance. The world building is fantastic. I loved the ending. The narration was wonderful. Vict ...more

Fantastic series!

The exciting conclusion to the First Witch duology. I highly recommend this romantic fantasy full of danger and passion, and a kickass witch and her true mate prince who really steam up the pages! Read the first book of Fia and Ares' story, The Dragonian's Witch, to experience and fully enjoy this intense storyline. This romance is just a dip into a fabulous fantasy universe that the author has crafted, linked to an ongoing storyline that's driving me crazy with the need to know
I enjoyed this story because I wanted to know the conclusion of Freya and Ares...but Freya was hardcore annoying. I understand the not trusting people to an extent, but lord have mercy. I honestly think things should have progressed further along that line in the first book, and the second book should have taken on a different plot line. Either way, it was enjoyable enough to make me look past the main character's flaws and keep me wanting to know how it would end up!

This was just poorly written. I don’t know why I continued on. Then the book abruptly ended without meeting the father in law and discussing the homecoming. So much dragging on and back and forth. The characters had such little depth.... this isn’t my first meg x book that I’ve read but it’ll be my last. She needs way more work and growth on her writing style and character development. Thank god this was free

Four stars

I liked this book, it was really good. I didn't really have any problems with it, except in certain sentences there were words missing and it took me a bit to figure out what it was supposed to be. Which took away from the story in my opinion.

But other than that, and maybe the ending, I had no problems with this book. It was a really enjoyable book, and I would recommend it to people.

Freyja and Ares continue on his quest to find the First Witch. Ares still doesn't know it is really Freyja and saves her from angels sent by her grandfather to kidnap her. They have to fight more battles and Ares has to fight his own battle over his quest or his feelings for Freyja. Freyja has to claim the dark side of her ancestry in order to help Ares win the final battle. This is an exciting book and kept me riveted through the end. I highly recommend this book.

The end

And enjoyable way to end this riveting tale - she tied up all lose ends while still paying decent homage to the characters. I also liked that she didn’t stretch it into a trilogy that wasn’t needed for this story.

- well written
- Great love story.
- Character development.
- Hot

- Felt as short as book 1

Interesting, creative read

Freyja and Ares are fascinating characters living in a unique fantasy realm. The story is very creative and interesting till the end. I loved the guardians. There are a LOT of steamy scenes in this book. Sometimes I found Freyja to be annoying, unreasonable, and childish, but overall it is an enjoyable read.

Not enough

I actually love the story and if anybody wants to know a hot dragonian then i advice to read this story. However, im a sucker for happy endings but this wasn’t for me a happy ending entirerly. I won’t even try to spoil anybody’ desire to read and get to know bythemselves the end so read it get in love or not by the story.
