A romantic comedy about friendships, flirtations, and the elusive “Fantasm!”

Hi! I’m Miranda Blake and this is my story. Well, sort of. It’s more like a twisted fairytale, if you believe in them. Except there’s no beautiful, young princess with perky breasts, perfectly coiffed hair and a sassy attitude. I’m closing in on fifty, thirty pounds overweight according to Weight W

Minx by Maggie Adams was so stinking fun to read! I have never had the pleasure of reading anything by Maggie Adams prior to this but now I must say I am dying to get my hands on some more of her work and anything else she may create for readers in the future. Minx is a fast read, one that you could devour on a dreary rainy day to brighten things up, or even perfect for a poolside read. As soon as I started reading about Miranda Blake I was hooked and found myself finished in one sitting. I woul ...more

I LOVED Minx by Maggie Adams!
It was a Featured Book in the Sizzling HOT Romance Book Club on Facebook, and it was everything a romantic comedy should be. Miranda Blake is not the typical romance leading lady--she's middle-aged, she has 'wobbly bits', and she's just a touch clumsy. But she soars to new heights with the help of her merry band of home-girls, in spite of being dumped by her douchebag husband of many years. Don't even get me started on him.
Minx is the perfect blend of laughter and te

A hilarious ride, with a woman that has life experiences and had the years to prove it! I loved that this was about a woman that is the same age as I am, in my fifties and that is ready ditch the c**p that life has thrown at her and find herself again, or at least find the woman that life has tried to bury under the normalcy of marriage up until now. Miranda was a funny woman, I got that she dwelt a little more than I would have liked on the past but I also liked that when she made her mind up t ...more

The story Minx by Maggie Adams is a book that I loved reading. It is one of those stories that had me smiling as well as laughing so much at times that I had to keep from falling out of my chair. I loved reading about the character of Miranda Blake. Miranda is a woman that I found funny, compassionate, and just plain fun to read about. While she says that she considered herself a doormat, I found her to be witty, at times sarcastic, kind, and loyal. I found my

This book made me late to work. LOL. I couldn't stop reading this book and I loved every word. I love that Miranda is just a normal housewife when her husband turns her world upside down and she has to reinvent herself and find who she is. She isn't some skinny stepford wife, she is so real and clumsy. She gets caught between two brothers but I loved this story. There was romance, humor, sizzle, danger and drama. Amazing book and

This was my first book by this author and I truly enjoyed it. I found myself laughing out loud more than once and I enjoyed that Miranda wasn't the perfect in every way 20 some year old. She was written in a way that made her feel like a real person and I so appreciated that. I think one of my only negatives is that it wasn't long enough for me. I enjoyed everything about this book except I don't know that I ever completely connected to the story. It seemed to move a b

OMG this book was hilarious!!! I seriously LOVE the characters of the story. Miranda and her crew of best friends were so awesome to read. But the temptation tug of which brother, Reed or Ritter, was great too! Miranda’s friends are seriously t

Minx by Maggie Adams. I loved this book. Its a short, hilarious read. Its the story of Miranda Blake who is almost 50 and dealing with all the "hilarious" things our bodies do to us during this time and also dealing with work, being overweight and trying to figure out what the heck to do after a divorce. She has a great group of friends that are her rocks and they are always there for her. She is super surprised when Reed a handsome devil, sweeps her off her feet and things begin to look up. This is a very enjoyable short read.
On the eve of a cruise Miranda Blake's husband tells her he wants a divorce. The house. And basically, she has to move out with her personal belongings and start again.
Enter her wonderful friends.
And a job interview...2 brothers...
And it's all fun and games after that!
Lots of fun and laughter to be had in Minx, as well as moments of disaster that we'd all recognise, but wish we could forget...
Happy Reading!

This short rom-com was everything I wanted it to be. We have funny banter, a woman who wouldn't let life knock her down and a group of friends that stand by your side no matter what.

We have Miranda who is trying to find herself after her divorce. I was enjoying myself with her cluelessness as to what affect she had on men around her. And I liked Reed from the get go. You could see he cared even when his words said otherwise.

Simply put - I loved it. I'm hoping we get to see more of this group o

A laugh out loud awesome read! Miranda finds herself in some very awkward situations while trying to get her life back together. One of my favorite romcoms of the year! Definitely recommend this book.

Minx by Maggie Adams drew me becuase it's about a 50's-ish woman who's husband left her pretty much high and dry. She's reentering the work force, the dating scene, and life for "her" after 20 plus years!
With a healthy dose of humor, falling, tripping, broken heels, and great writing Minx was a fun, entertaining read.
Reed and Ritter gave "Randi" a run for her money, and her happiness.
Along with the 'tee-hee's' and the 'ha-ha's' there were those 'awwww' and 'what an ass' moments. There's a little

Minx was a fantastic Romcom! It was a cute romantic comedy and a quick read. I laughed so hard a few times and those sex scenes were WOW! The words that Maggie put in it made it seem so real. From the older woman bodies and walking in heals. Which I would be just like Miranda. I absolutely loved Minx and cannot wait to read more of Maggie Adams work!

The blurb of Minx intrigued me and I thought it was going to be a fun read with an older heroine finding love again. It certainly contained a lot of funny and entertaining parts, but it just didn’t work for me.

I find that the story and Miranda had no depth. She was extremely juvenile and did not act her age. Her clumsiness was too over the top and unbelievable. I don’t understand how she could be the capable and respectable woman/mother as her friends described. How could she lived to be fif

MINX by Maggie Adams was a delightfully funny romp that had me smiling and laughing out loud as I read along. This is also my first read by Ms. Adams, and what a great introduction it was! I will certainly be going on a search to hunt down more of her books to explore.
I loved meeting Miranda, and the rest of the cast of interesting and quirky characters. They were really well developed, realistic, and relatable- this story is definitely character driven, and really wouldn’t be the same w

I expected a lot of laughter from this book and I wasn’t disappointed. I had some great laughs while reading it and enjoyed myself. The plot was easy to follow and the writing style was easy to read.
The main character was funny, if a bit too focused on her flaws, but in the end she was THE BOMB. Her friends were hilarious and I wish all of them books to tell their stories. I will have to keep an eye open for them.

Minx was a wonderful read by Maggie Adams and is also the first book that I have read by this author. The first thing that really made me want to read this book was the blurb, it was interesting enough to make me want to read about Miranda, the main characters but vague enough that I wasn’t quite sure what the story would be about so it was kind of like going in blind! I liked that I had no expectations about what was going to happen. I ended up loving Miranda! She was

MINX by Maggie Adams is a delightful quick and easy read that is a short story but there is nothing short about what is packed into this little tale. It is fun and the hilarity of it had me laughing out loud, hubby kept looking at me like I was a loon. The characters are quirky and delightful but I would have loved the story to be longer to get a better feel of them and their lives as a whole. Even though it is fun there is the serious side of the story where after your marriage breaks down you ...more

My first book by this author and it was truly an amazing and funny read. It was also sexy, full of humor, compassion, a real understanding of friendship among friends. The characters were awesome. The star of the book was so clumsy it was hysterical. Miranda made the choice of going it alone after her rat bastard husband wanted a divorce. Well she definitely made a better life for herself by doing so. He didn’t deserve her anyway. And her friends stood by her through it all. The way true fri

Minx was a fun read! Hilarious mixed with OMG I'd so do that if it happened to me. Newly separated/divorced Miranda-now Randi-oops, maybe not-is let loose on the world. Newly poked, prodded, redressed, and coiffed by her gaggle of girlfriends to face life and getting rid of the excess weight of the loser hubby, she still would like to curl up in bed and watch TV or read a book. Too bad her friends know better. Forced to find her way in the dating and working world after taking care of the loser ...more

Off the bat this is a short story, and a hea. It’s about an older woman who already has grown kids and her marriage has fallen apart. She has a very odd set of friends. Honestly it reminded me about a group like sex in the city girls. So it went at a semi fast pace, at one moment she is asked about the divorce and the next it felt like she was already divorced and working. At first I thought the main guy was going to be Ritter, but then it became noticeable that it was going to be Reed. They sta ...more

Minx by Maggie Adams is a five star novel. I love how the author uses an older character and makes her sexy and necessary again. This was a nice quick read as we got to know Miranda. As an older woman, she thought she needed to take a break from relationships and just find herself. Then she finds herself, literally, in the lap of a complete stranger. He is gorgeous and with a voice that makes her weak. When he offers her a job, she knows she needs to take it even though she doesn’t believe she i ...more

This book is on the shorter side and because of it, moves at a very quick pace. There were a couple of characters who I constantly rolled my eyes at (I'm looking at you Matt & Ritter) and I wanted to write them right out of the story and some of the situations were odd, but I found the story an enjoyable o

I enjoyed this book. It's fast read that I read rather quickly. I loved Miranda. Life as thrown her a curve ball, but it's a blessing disguise because she may just find her HEA. Miranda is an older heroine who finally going to find the true and be free to be that woman. She's deserves a guy who will treat as the queen she is. Poor Miranda though she's a klutz and she finds herself in many embarrassing situations, but that's what makes her so likable. That's one of my favorites sides of her. I al ...more

Well Maggie, if I didn't know better I'd say you took some of my life and personality and put it into this book.... I saw myself in Miranda... the klutz (though not quite that bad) things always happening to me.... and the one that got me and makes me think you were spying is everyone constantly scaring the shit out of her... Tom did that to me all the time... I lost count of the times I nearly threw my ereader at him, or yelled out JESUS.. and he's say no.. just me... I'm so going to miss that. ...more

Hilarious. I wasn't sure I expected to laugh as much or as hard as I did going in but I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I love that Miranda is not a twenty something. She's not perfect, is trying to get back on her feet after divorce, she's trying to find the woman she was that's still somewhere inside her.
Even if she is hidden by years and the toll time and children can take on our bodies.
This book was cute, it could have shown a little more growth on the heroines part but it's a quick read so it

This book was fun to read... Miranda reminded me of the hot mess express. When her hubby says he wants a divorce you realize how hard she really is on herself. She goes on some really crappy dates that are laughable that her friends all helped with. Her friends are priceless and entwined heavily in the book. She takes alot that happens better than most people would and she moves on for most part, she is extremely hard on herself. This book will have you laughing alot I wish the ending hadnt been ...more

Minx is a romantic comedy by Maggie Adams. I am grateful that Ms. Adams created Miranda. She is not the picture of a fairytale but more of a hot mess. Her story is one of comedy throughout her life. It is refreshing knowing not every author writer describes the “barbie” figure for the character. I have to admit I spent a long time reading this story because i was laughing so hard I had to stop. Will Miranda find some love? Will Prince, her German Shepard, stay her Prince Charming? I hope you hav ...more
