The winner of The Most Frequently Asked Question For Unconditionally Loving Distance Running is …: “What in the heck can you possibly ponder to keep you running for all that time without going nuts?” "Everything. Nothing. You name it. What doesn't a person think about when they run?” This written journey was an invitation to answer that question with personal transparency. This ten year compilation of reflections was birthed after laborious miles running in the sun. A few topics originated during Midwest winters while running a bob and weave pattern to try to stay warm and dodge frozen cow pies. This written potpourri was intended to be lighthearted and comical, sometimes filled with random silliness. Over years of running, there have accumulated many fresh insights and a discovery of an intensely spiritual side that was not expected nor sought. Welcome to the thoughts of a runner and a life coach. Enjoy.
Christina's light shines brightly through the pages of her book. Her observations, aspirations, and experiences in life prior to writing and publishing provide the reader with a transparent view of the author with humor and sensitivity. I especially enjoyed the "Revelation Kit" on page 229!
Those of us who have known the author, for any length of time, couldn't wait to see this book published. True to her nature, Christina's wit and wisdom is evidenced by countless word pictures that stimulate our imagination.
One of my favorite stories was of her rushing to the bathroom after a long run and encountering a huge struggle with the double knot on her drawstring sweatpants. Reading this gave me what Christina describes as "The Double-Up Laughter Workout!" She certainly has a knack for sharing things that many of us have experienced, but were afraid to share!
