Two-Year-Old Book Somewhat Confusing
When I first chose this book at a book review site, I decided to purchase the author's other investing book, Investing 101. I had assumed that the second book was a follow-up of the first and more advanced. I read the first book in a night and was eager to read more of this author's insights into investing in this book. Unfortunately, investing 201 is not a follow-up to Investing 101. Rather, it is the more updated version of the first book. Even though Investing 201 was originally published in April 2019, it was offered at the book review site in August 2021. One might say a lot has changed in investing since the pandemic started. I found myself wondering why the author had not updated it — even a sentence or paragraph or two—since he was offering a two-year-old book on a volatile topic. Does his method still work in 2021 and beyond? He didn't let us know.
Having read the two books back-to-back, I think the author did a better job explaining his techniques in the first book. While much between the two books is exactly the same, he did update several sections, including a very detailed one about the technical marker(s) he looks for. While I completely understood that section in the first book, the one in this book feels rather scant… and he has added different markers. Honestly, if I had read Investing 101 first, I would have been more confused by this chapter because of all that was left unsaid. At least I understood one of his technical markers, but not the others because he didn't go into the same detail as 101. I also would have liked to see more about how these markers intersect. By the way, one of the other “additions” to this book is advertising for this author’s newsletter. Especially toward the end of the book, this is rather pervasive. FYI, the newsletter's price as stated in the book has gone up by 5 times in 2021. All in all, I found this book to be a less helpful and more confusing book than his first, and I do wonder if his investment strategies have changed during the pandemic.

Investing 201 is a very informative book on the author's personal investment strategy. He shares how he is using his money to make money.
His strategy may not work for everyone, but his detailed perspective on how to make the market work for him is invaluable information. It allows the reader to pick and choose parts of the author's strategy that works for him/her.
