A very cursory read for me since much of what it details is far ahead of where I'm at. I browsed the entire book and read the intro sections carefully. The most relevant section to me now is packaging the product.

One thing I liked about this book is that it covers a lot of ground in short sections or paragraphs with easy to navigate headings. So this book is perfect for browsing, as how-to's and technical manuals should be. Well-written in that sense.

Weissman has a lot of good advice for aspiring musicians, especially those outside the big 4 music markets: LA, NYC, Toronto, and Nashville.

Personally, I think Donald Passman's book on the music is better for more detailed information on the legal and monetary ramifications of the music business. Passman is a practicing attorney. I believe Weissman is a musician.

Weissman's book is good for young, inexperienced, or new musicians looking for a knowledge overview of the "biz."

If you are not in any music market, this is a great intro with a lot of ideas. I'd like to see an updated version of the 2010 one because there are so many more online music options in 2018.
