An interesting short story about genetic modification and "designer" children. Bear's forward mentions that this story was written before Gattica, and if you haven't seen that movie, you should check it out. I'm not sure the ideas in this story are really profound, but it took a different angle, from the view of a "normal, natural" kid, and how they could feel "othered" when so many are designed.
