Part of the clear out my kindle policy.... really excellent but a bit like being in a washing machine, everytime one cycle was finished we were thrown into the next one without a chance to breath. Loved it, but now exhausted.

I was trying to really like this book the whole time.
Kept waiting ... to settle into a rhythm... to take me to that special 'suspend disbelief' place, but ended up feeling the plot was choppy and unfocused. I found that the length of the book (which I usually long for) was not really helping the story. To me, this book could be a lot more powerful if it was shorter and highlighted a smaller number of events to really shape the story.

I liked the lead characters, though Alex's past was a bit over the top in terms of believability. Regina, a medical resident and Alex's love interest, was predictable overall except I thought it a little premature to announce to her right wing homophobic mother she was gay [way before she was]. I think you have to earn that conversation. Chemistry and depth was average. Dialogue, the connection, was not magical, but close, so close.

This was an exciting read. Great characters (Regina and Alex) and an interesting Story. I liked the slow developing love story between the two women and the action at the hospital was quite palpable. But the story was a little bit overfilled. Especially in the end with everything wat was going on in the hospital with the fraud, the shooting and the ex-boyfriend. I rate this book 4 stars.

It was a bit too much happening in this book for my taste, and thought some things went a bit too far.
Really wanted to like it, but kept getting annoyed over things, so I guess I liked the first part and the last part of the book where things weren't quite as unreal.

Excellent!

This book has everything. Great story, great characters, love, heartbreak, but most of all the human ability to persevere. The author captures you from the first to the last word. It's a rollercoaster of emotions. Very well written. Well worth six stars if I'm honest. Enjoy.

I know this was put out through a small publishing house, and I knew what I was getting into when I bought it in the first place, and I know that in 2002, getting stories like this out in the world was an achievement in itself - but this book needed several more revisions and edits. And the whole Xena fanfic trope is tiresome to me now (I'm probably not the target audience/demographic for it, but still).

This book was a LOT, but overall I didn't mind it. The highlight for me was how complex Alex was as a character, and how Regina works to understand and live with that fact.

Others have summarized so no need to revisit.
I was rooting for this book the whole time.

and unfocused. I found that the length of the book (which I usually long for)
was not really helping the story. To me, this book could be a lot more

premature to announce to her right wing homophobic mother she was gay

conversation. Chemistry and depth was average.
Dialogue, the connection, was not magical, but close, so close.
Will look forward to more from Ms. Norris.

Great book with good developed characters that leave you wanting to learn more about them. The story line was great and with other minor story lines weaved in well which added to the character. This helped it seem more based in reality then in fiction. Love it and intend on reading the sequel.

Got it just to have something to read, and couldn't put it down. Loved the characters, the suspense and loved to hate Dana. I am hoping there will be a sequel.
