I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

4 Stars and recommendation for romance genre and second chance storyline lovers.

Alexandria Weis has gained a new fan – If I had more time right now I would be reading all her books back to back. Someday it will happen!

Cover to Covers is a stylish and descriptively written novel in the romance genre. Its unique on that the characters are experienced at life as they are, experienced at love and heartbreak and yet boldly open to find their second chance with each other. Much of the novel explores the potential in their fateful second chance meeting and just how much our two main characters missed out on when they walked away from each other.

After nearly twenty years a part, Tyler Moore and Monique Delome cross paths in Tyler’s hometown of Dallas. As fate would have it, she is at an author’s event and Tyler is staying at the same hotel to take some work meetings. Destiny? Maybe. Tyler Sets his sights on Monique and with their history he does go all out to try to win her back. Their relationship is very up-down and they are challenged from the get go. Early on in the story, we discover that the two’s earlier relationship was not very concrete. He had considered her a great friend and they had a deep connection, but their relationship was missing a key component, trust, and there was a deep chasm in their different upbringings. Cover to Covers is told from Tyler’s point of view so we spend most of our time in his head, seeing what he sees and feeling what he feels. It’s not easy being in there. Why? Well, Tyler has baggage, and lots of it. He’s a recovering alcoholic with 2 failed marriages, and after using countless women to quell his loneliness, Tyler is a man very much desperately at odds with his life. .

Monique has built her life around her writing and has made herself a great success in the romance genre. She too has suffered a failed marriage, but definitely comes off as the more mature and emotionally stable character. Monique’s character talks about her own writing in a way that is deeply personal and highly reflective of how she feels and this excerpt from a conversation with Tyler captures a sentiment that I think most romance readers can connect with:

“I think all love might grow stale with time; perhaps the best love is the one that never gets realized. Maybe our minds can create a better ending for us than reality eventually gives us.”

The dialogue and character interaction writing is really superb making Cover to Covers a read that flows well and is easy to follow. But we spend most of our time in Tyler’s head and it’s hard not feel to anxiety and anger over his stubbornness. The storyline keeps a consistent pace and we see how Tyler and Monique go yet again, from being deeply immersed in each other, to two people creating their own drama and enduring a massive gap due to their inability to put what others want from them on the back burner. It’s a heartbreaking story as all the trust that had been built is quickly dissolved. Monique is an amazingly strong heroine and her sensibility really won me over. She is genuine and wise and just as stubborn as Tyler. You will likely find yourself rooting for her happiness, regardless of Tyler’s involvement in her life.

There are a variety of secondary characters, Monique’s agent Chris and her brother Jake, to Tyler’s family, that add drama to their lives. Everyone seems to be worried about them being together, but few have altruistic reasons that justify their actions in trying to keep them a part. By far, my favorite characters are Ugly the dog and Lynn, Tyler’s right hand women. It takes man’s best friend and a man best women to help make things right. Lynn offer up some great advice that turns the whole thing around:

“The big gesture isn’t about mariachi bands and roses, Mr. Moore. It’s about showing her what she means to you.”

I recommend this to anyone interested in second chance love stories. There is light bondage/dominance aspect so that is something for readers to consider. It’s a bumpy ride as you can see the mistakes and misunderstands taking place, but in the end it really is a superb read. Great for anyone loving an angst filled read.

ARC received by the author in exchange for an honest review

When I first began reading this book, I was in for a bit of a surprise because it turns out that it is slightly different from what I usually read. Please do not get ahead of yourself and stop reading. Is it a romance novel? Yes. Filled with drama, heartbreak, passion and laughter? Yes. But the difference lies in the fact that the main couple is rather mature, and I am not quite used to that. Nevertheless, I found it to be very refreshing and at no point did it make me not want to keep reading, so please do not let it dissuade you from buying the book.

I will not go into too many details about the storyline, though, as the synopsis says so much about it already, so please allow me to be a bit vague from time to time.

Meet Tyler Moore: suave, hardworking, oil tycoon who has two failed marriages behind him. He has just celebrated his 50th birthday but that certainly does not stop him from acting more like he was still thirty in regards to the opposite sex. He spends a lot of his time in meetings, and engaging in casual sex is all he wants. But when he runs into an old girlfriend - Monique - his clearly defined world is tipped on its axis.

“She had happened so long ago, but he found it funny how advancing age only seemed to make the memories of youth more poignant. It was as if growing older brought into focus the emotions that the impetuosity of youth seemed to blur.” (Tyler)

He reflects on their past, wondering if he was in the wrong twenty years ago, and when he finds out that the heroes she writes about in her romance novels all are based on him, he knows that she is still thinking about him and he wants to try to pick up where they left off.

Monique lives in New Orleans, and she leads a quiet life while writing her books. At first, she is very reluctant to let Tyler back into her life, but she decides to give him a chance eventually. And having a former boyfriend turn up at your doorstep, determined to wear you down - one you still have feelings for - would probably make most of us willing to try again.

I very much enjoyed getting to know Tyler, and the fact that the story is told solely from his point of view had me riveted to the pages. I found Tyler to be a rather arrogant man - and some of the things he said definitely had me shaking my head once or twice - but he is a very likeable character at the same time. Like so many others, he is defined and ruled by his past and the disappearance of his older brother, Peter, when he was just a child, plays a big part in how he has led his life so far. I could not help but care for Tyler and hoping that he would see that in order to move on with Monique, it would be imperative that he changed his ways.

One of the things I admire about Monique is the fact that she does not let Tyler get away with anything. She is brutally honest, strong-willed and independent. She, too, has a failed marriage behind her, but even though it scarred her, making her vulnerable for a while, she found her way back to herself and she chose to not let a man dictate her dreams ever again. That kind of determination deserves a great deal of respect in my opinion. Also, I found her reluctance to start anything with Tyler again quite understandable, given their past and how he made her feel from time to time.

“Showing me isn’t telling me how you feel, Ty. It was always this way before. You would claim to show me how you felt, but never once did you ever say how you felt.” (Monique

Most of this story takes place in New Orleans, and I confess that I now really want to visit this city one day. Miss Weis knows her city very well, and that definitely comes across in the book. Her writing style reels you in, and her descriptions of both places and people feel so life-like, it is as if you are experiencing everything yourself. That is the sign of a great story-teller in my eyes, and I was actually a bit sad when the story ended. I would also like to stress that the flow of the story is perfect – it never feels rushed or farfetched to me. Everything these characters felt, I felt as well.

Both Tyler and Monique have to learn letting go of the past and give up on the preconceived notions they harbor towards each other. What I feel is one of the most important themes of the story is that you are never too old to go after the things you want, that it is never too late to change if you do not like the direction your life has taken. And I find this to be very uplifting, actually. This is, in my opinion, mostly Tyler’s story: family secrets will be revealed, drama ensues and his fears of losing control will have to come to an end. Trusting in Monique is absolute key, and I confess that I found myself a bit worried if a man of his age was able to acknowledge his past mistakes and learn to compromise.

“…I was terrified of how much I needed you…of how much I love you. I will do whatever it takes to hold on to you. Like I told you before, I would rather fail a thousand times with you than never take the chance.” (Tyler)

To sum up: if you are looking for a great romance that is slightly different from what you are used to, I definitely recommend that you buy this book. Like I said in the beginning of this review, it has everything that you could wish for in a romance novel: heartbreak, laughter, tears, passion…Oh, and an ugly mongrel called Bart *wink*. I will certainly pick up other books the author has written so far, and this book is now on the list of my favourite books of all time.

It surprises me how much I enjoyed this book when I really did not like Tyler, At. All. until most of the way through the book. I am a sucker for second change love stories, but this is the first one I have read where they really broke up because one was a complete jerk. Not that he made a mistake or life got in the way. He was a jerk. Yes, there were reasons for it, but from everything we read through the first half of the book, he remained said jerk. Mo is a writer and one who clearly never got over Ty since he stars in all her books in some form or another. At first I could not really decide if I thought she was really strong or really weak because she did that. It added an interesting element to the story.
What made these characters extra appealing to me is that they are not 20 somethings. They originally became the “one that got away” in their twenties, but the story is told 21 years later making them *gasp*my age. It was refreshing. I also enjoyed the honesty about the challenges they would really face in this situation. It was not a “We see each other again and life is beautiful” story. It is an emotionally packed story where I was not always sure if they would get their HEA or not. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it will not be the last. Anyone who can have me glued to my kindle cheering for someone I dislike for most of the book is an author worth reading.

Really liked this book. It is the first one I've read from this author and I have to say I definitely will be reading more. This book is very steamy which I like. I loved how he goes after the one that got away. I love how every man she writes about in her books tends to remind you a lot of him. You just got to love a man in control. This book is well written and I'm glad I read it.

Blog Tour on my blog February 1st!
Review + Except + Giveaway
http://pleaseanotherbook.tumblr.com/p...

"The good ones make a man smile; the great ones make him blush.”

Buona lettura guys!

Una sorpresa. Una storia sulla seconda possibilità che si ripresenta dopo vent'anni. Lui è troppo insicuro anche se poi alla fine si comprende la sua fragilità; lei è l'anima della coppia.

Cover to Covers is a poignant and beautiful message that proclaims that a life worth living is one that is filled with boundless joy and complete fulfillment. We needlessly make ourselves suffer when we stubbornly hold onto our fears of control, of commitment, and of abandonment instead of choosing to let them go. If we desire to live a happy, full, and complete life, we need to find the courage and the determination to give up those fears and walk forward into the unknown. No one can predict the future, so let the hold on your heart go and allow it to do what it does best – love fiercely and with reckless abandon. The rewards from that decision will have more positive far reaching effects then you can ever imagine.

Tyler Moore is a man who would appear to have it all with his money, power, and women, but instead he finds himself empty and longing for something more. Just as he tries to figure out what that more is, he finds himself looking right into her eyes. Monique Delome is the only woman the Tyler regrets letting go of. She is the only person who ever saw him for who he was and loved him in spite of it. While he let her slip through his fingers once, he is determined not to let it happen again. Monique’s heart was torn apart by Tyler once, and she refuses to allow him to do it a second time. However, no matter how hard we may try, no one can deny what the heart wants. Have they wasted their last shot at living a complete and happy life, or is this just a dramatic pause in their own love story? Can Tyler give up his precious control in order to open his heart fearlessly to Monique, or will Monique’s sensibilities push him away in order to finally begin picking up the pieces of her broken heart?

I was blown away by this amazing story. It plunged deep into my heart and went right to the core. Punches were not pulled and important issues were not danced around. You dove into the deep end of this pool from the very beginning and were forced to face the unresolved issues of these exquisite characters. My heart broke for them as I watched their joy at being reunited fragment and slowly fade away against the rough and painful walls that had been built around their hearts. Their journey to love was filled with painful revelations and hostile roadblocks that were miraculously offset by their tender and unrelenting love.

The amazing characters felt so real and true to life that I could easily imagine seeing them in my neighborhood. Real-life issues were fought and dealt with in the pages of this book, and that’s what endeared it to me the most. While I love reading fantasy stories, it is the real-life stories that stay with me over the years. I couldn’t help but fall in love with Tyler and Monique, and I found myself holding my breath to see how it would all end.

Alexandrea Weis has really impressed me with how tenderly yet objectively she dealt with the heavy handed issues in this story. A story like this is not easy, but she made it possible in a very real way. She spoke truth and life into the dying hearts of two broken and hurting people and found a way to bring hope into the darkness and love into the despair. There is plenty of adult content in this book, but it came across in a very realistic and honest way. It was touching and yet decent. I enjoyed the refreshing honesty and the genuine heart that I found in this story, and I hope to read more by this author if the rest of her stories are anything like this one.

**********

REVIEW: COVER TO COVERS is a romantic, contemporary, erotic storyline that focuses on Propel Oil CEO Tyler Moore and romance author Monique Delome. With a prior history twenty years earlier, Cover to Covers is a second chance storyline that requires a third shot at love. An accidental meeting in Dallas will find the former college sweethearts face to face for the first time in two decades and the attraction is just as powerful as before.

The storyline follows Tyler as he endeavors to rekindle the romance that he once had with the one that got away. Twice divorced, Tyler’s history as a womanizer has left a bad impression on Monique but Monique has put her knowledge of Tyler to good use and Tyler is about to find out just what type of leading man he can truly be.

The relationship between our leading couple is erotic and sensual. Tyler’s reputation with the ladies precedes his appearance and Monique is willing to put the past aside for a second chance at love. But Tyler ran before and when things get tough, Tyler will run again.

The world building pulls the reader into the sights and sounds of New Orleans and, everything it has to offer. The characters are diverse; their backgrounds are the building blocks of the story whereupon Weis establishes her introductory premise.

There is one particular aspect of the storyline that did bother me, especially in this age of STDs and AIDs. The amount of unprotected sex by our hero never called into question the use of condoms or contraceptives. This, to me, is questionable in a storyline, regardless of the age of the characters. Both in their forties, with Tyler’s very active and current sex life, I would have thought Monique would have demanded condoms but it was only ever mentioned once in passing-after- several orgasms and nights together.

COVER TO COVERS is a story of heartbreak and betrayal; forgiveness and letting go; and two people who have loved one another for over twenty years. Alexandrea Weis writes a romantic storyline about the people and places she knows in New Orleans with a dash of smexy on the side.

This is the first book I've read from Alexandrea Weis. Her writing is outstanding. Her story flows with ease and she is able to hook in the reader almost immediately. Cover to Covers is a quick read, for many this book can be finished in a few hours mainly because you won’t be able to put it down. Needless to say, I am an Alexandrea Weis fan now and I’ll be reading more of her books. I’m confident in saying that if you pick up any of the books she has written you too will become an instant fan.

***********MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*************

Cover to Covers follows the POV of Tyler Moore. The CEO of Propel Oil Company. Tyler is mature in age, rich, and very handsome. He still manages to get the attention of ladies in their 20’s and 30’s. He’s over confident (not surprising) with a bit of a control issue. The issue being that he doesn’t like to give up control to anyone. He’s been a womanizer all of his adult life. He gave committment a chance, but after 2 failed marriages he figured non-committal, physical relationships worked best for him. That all changed one day….. While waiting to meet a business client at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Tyler runs into the only woman who he ever loved. Her name is Monique (Moe) Delome, a successful romance author who was at the hotel for a book convention. She and Tyler dated during their college years. Even back then, Tyler had his issues. They both loved each other, but love didn’t seem enough at the time and ultimately their relationship didn’t work and so they went their separate ways. One interesting fact about their old relationship is that they NEVER slept together. Not because of lack of chemistry, but because Moe wasn’t ready. Well that all changes 20+ year’s later. The chemistry is alive and well, and with all of Tyler’s intimate experiences, he introduces Moe to new ways in playing in the bedroom, and she can’t get enough of it. It gets seriously sexy, steamy, and adventurous in the bedroom and can easily rival what any 20 or 30 year old couple can do behind closed doors.

Great sex alone can’t resolve everything. For Moe, it’s clear that she has never let go of Tyler, but her issue is trust, or lack thereof. She tries to protect herself from repeating the heartache she endured so many years ago, and is hesitant to let Tyler completely back in. Who can blame her, right? Tyler loves being in control of everything in his life, but when it comes to Moe all the rules change. Only someone who has your heart can do that, but will he submit to what his heart truly wants? Can he be the best man he thinks Moe deserves, and is he ready to change his entire life for her?

Tyler doesn’t seem to have the best poker face, and so it seems when it comes to love Tyler wears his heart on his sleeve and everyone but he can see it. There are characters throughout the book that has given him unsolicited relationship advice, but there is one strong, outspoken voice of reason that may help him finally figure out what he must do. Does he do the right thing for him, or does he do what’s right for her?

Read this book. Giving this a 5 star rating just wasn’t enough.

I loved it! This might be my favorite one yet! I wish I could give it more stars.

Tyler Moore is a man of wealth, power, and respect at least among his business associates – the women in his life might wholly disagree – but he’s missing the one thing that would complete his life. He’s missing the woman that he let get away some twenty years earlier and never pursued – until now.

When Tyler comes face to face with Monique Delome, the woman from his past that he was never able to seduce but was also never able to forget, he sets out to discover the answer to a question he’s been asking himself for the past twenty-one years. What if she hadn’t left him or he’d gone after her? He even goes so far as to read five of her books and discover that he is the hero in all of them. When he confronts her with this, she tells him that he’s the only man who could wrap a woman around his finger. He's the only man who always got everything he wanted from every woman he ever met. But, the real reason was because when her marriage went sour and when she escaped into her imagination, he was there.

Tyler follows Monique, or rather Moe, as he calls her, to New Orleans. There, he attempts to make her think about the, what if, possibilities that he hopes may exist between them. He tolerates a lot to make his point, including the hostile interruptions from her manager, Chris Donovan, and even her little ugly dog, Bart. But Moe isn’t easily swayed by his charms, in or out of bed, and soon he begins to feel that it’s his heart that is going to be broken in the end.

COVER TO COVERS by Alexandrea Weis is an amazing journey through a second chance romance between two mature characters, who carry a past not filled with memories of sexual experiences, but one of respect and heartache caused by regret. What makes this romance so exceptional, and bound to be one of this year’s favorites for me, is that it is written completely in Tyler’s point of view. Yes, we are treated to experiencing this romance experience from a man’s point of view, through his insecurities, fears, and heartbreak. It is fabulous. Oh, and the best line ever is on the cover - 'I would rather fail a thousand times with you than never take the chance.' *sigh*

I highly, highly recommend COVER TO COVERS by Alexandrea Weis to anyone, and I mean anyone, who truly enjoys a second chance romance that will keep you glued to the pages. A story that will have you opening your heart to Tyler and wishing you could bring him home to heal his heart and make him forget Moe, especially when it appears she isn’t going to accept him for the man he is, and for how much he loves her.

Cover to Covers is a heartwarming and touching second chance romance - I enjoyed every sentence of it.
It is realistic, honest and very refreshing.
This is one of the rare books where the main characters are not in their twenties and just gotten adult but instead are in their prime - mature and experienced.
You don't see that often nowadays and I admire Alexandrea Weis for having the guts to write a book about mature love.

Tyler is the CEO of a successful petroleum company.
With the money, power and all the women at his feet you would assume he has it all to be happy.
But instead there is emptiness inside him, longing to be filled. Now it's on Tyler to find out how.

Enter Monique Delome. She is the only woman who ever saw the real Tyler a long time ago and still loved him.
She is the only woman he could never forget, no matter how many years had passed ever since he had let her slip away.

More than 20 years after their breakup they accidentally run into one another in Texas at a book signing event Monique is attending,
as she is a successful romance writer now.
With her heart torn apart by Tyler once, she refuses to let any other man in again - let alone this man being Tyler once more.
Instead, she decides that it is safer for her to put all her love and passion into her writing.
But what is it that all her male main characters seem to feature some of Tyler's characteristics? Coincidence?

While Monique is trying hard to stay away from him, Tyler is determined gain a second chance for them both - and this time he won't let her go...

***
I loved this book for so many reasons!
* The whole plot is very deep and intriguing, dealing with some heavier issues carefully but without beating about the bush.
* Both main characters were loveable and - that's very important to me - believeable. You could feel their pain and really imagine them living in the real world.
* The fact this story being about an author - an author who puts the man/love of her life into her books - even made it more interesting.
* Despite being wealthy Tyler doesn't display it that much - yes, he buy Monique presents (and that's a good thing), but he is not overdoing it as many of the other CEOs do.
* The story is told from Tyler's point of view. I always love to read about a man's thoughts and feelings.
* Oh, and the story partially takes place in New Orleans - I love this city and the book fed my desire for visiting it tremendously!

I recommend this book to every romance lover out there who can deal with a deep and mature love story! :)
4.5 beautiful stars!

Tyler Moore is a hardworking, oil tycoon who currently has two failed marriages under his belt. Tyler has just finished celebrating his 50th birthday; however, still acts as though he is a thirty year old male towards women. Much of his time is spent at the office, in meetings or having random sex with women whom mean nothing to him. When Monique- his old girlfriend comes back into his life, Tyler's world is anything but normal.

“She had happened so long ago, but he found it funny how advancing age only seemed to make the memories of youth more poignant. It was as if growing older brought into focus the emotions that the impetuosity of youth seemed to blur.” (Tyler)

Tyler thinks back to their time spent together and wonders if the past twenty years of his life have been a total mistake. When he finds out that the men in Monique's romance novels are all based off of him, he knows that she still thinks about him too. This makes Tyler decide to want to try to pick things up where they left off.

Monique lives in New Orleans with her dog Bart and lives a relatively quiet life. Monique writes romance novels for a living, and is famous to many people around the world. In the beginning Monique is reluctant to let Tyler back into her life, eventually she decides to give him another chance.

I loved getting to know Tyler and his background. The point that the entire story is written from his point of view was especially appealing to me. Tyler has been ruled by his past and the fact that his older brother, Peter, left when Tyler was just a child.

I love how Monique does not let Tyler in right away. She makes him work for it. She does not beat around the bush and is straight up about anything that is bothering her. Just like Tyler, she has a failed marriage behind her, which makes her more vulnerable and more unwilling to trust Tyler.

“Showing me isn’t telling me how you feel, Ty. It was always this way before. You would claim to show me how you felt, but never once did you ever say how you felt.” (Monique)

This story is incredible! I loved ever second of it, and was captivated from the first to the last page. Alexandria Weis has done an incredible job with this book. It should definitely be a must read for everyone!

“…I was terrified of how much I needed you…of how much I love you. I will do whatever it takes to hold on to you. Like I told you before, I would rather fail a thousand times with you than never take the chance.” (Tyler)

Cover to Covers is a quick and enjoyable read that was romantic, fun, and a bit frustrating all at the same time. There were parts of it that I loved and other parts that were very bothersome and annoying to me.

This book tells the story of Monique Delome and Tyler Moore. They dated “once upon a time”, and have since both been married (and divorced). Neither one has forgotten the other until a chance meeting at a hotel during a writers’ conference has them both rethinking their breakup and exploring the possibility of a second chance with one another.

Told from Tyler’s viewpoint, I enjoyed being inside this character’s head. Although a rich and successful oil CEO, Tyler never comes across as overbearing or as having a control complex. He was a very likeable character, and watching him come to the realization (at 50 years of age), that he was completely head over heals in love was entertaining….to say the least.

Monique was a bit more difficult to like, but I ended up cheering for her and hoping that Tyler would wise up and see what was right in front of him. I will say that I was disappointed in the way that these characters age and behavior was handled. Tyler was 50 years old, but NEVER acted the way I would expect a mature man to act. I would think that having been through so much, his decision-making would be a little bit wiser than it was. Monique’s immaturity was also shocking. I was hoping with characters that were a bit older, that this read would come across a bit less dramatic and filled with honesty and maturity instead of insecurity and commitment-phobia. Alas, if you are looking for a mature read, this book will disappoint. There are young adult couples that could teach these older adults a thing or two about commitment (and about safe sex!)

Overall, a sweet story about a couple that gets another chance to do things right the second time around. It’s filled with spicy sensuality, sweet and swoon-worthy scenes, and enough misunderstandings and poor communication to add some healthy frustration to the mix.

Tyler is CEO of an oil company. He is also going through his second divorce. He knows why none of his relationships don't work out. He just doesn't want to admit it to himself. He knows it's because none of these women are Mo. The one who got away. Tyler stays at the local hotel when he has business meetings. When Tyler goes to the hotel bar to meet a client he gets a text that the client will not make it that night as he is looking around the bar he sees someone familiar. It is none other than Mo. He can't believe she is there. Not only is Mo there but so is his soon to be ex wife. As a way to try to forget the feelings that Mo makes him feel he takes his ex to bed to try to forget her. It doesn't work.

Monique is a Romance Author. She never got over her old flame Tyler. Anyone who reads her books can see that as all of her leading men all resemble him in one way or another. She couldn't believe it when she seen Tyler at the hotel. Tyler pursues her and she finally gives in to see what they may have. During their newfound relationship the tone of her next book changes into something with more of an edge. Her manager does not like it and blames Tyler telling him he is ruining her career. Tyler is already getting scared of his feelings and leaves.

Tyler finally realizes that he needs to be with Mo but when he tries to rekindle what they had he finds that she has moved on. Will Tyler give up or fight for Mo? Has Mo really moved on or is there more going on? Will they eventually get back together?

I LOVED this book. I loved Monique and Tyler's characters. I thought that Tyler was an emotional wreck of a man with a lot to work through and that Mo was the perfect woman for him. This is definitely a must read for romance junkies. Cover to Covers is an emotional read that has you falling in love with the characters. I highly recommend reading.

Cover to Covers by Alexandria Weis

3 Stars

Twice married Tyler, wasn’t the perfect man. A work-a-holic and a little indifferent to women’s feelings, he drifted through life using women for his physical needs only. Bumping into an old fling on a work trip, he began to re-evaluate his ways and realise that maybe the problem lay with him and not with the endless string of women he beds.

Monique had never been able to get over the fact that Tyler hadn’t followed her when she left college to return home and look after her ailing mother. As time passed she met and married a young doctor, but it was never a truly happy marriage and she always had Tyler in the back of her mind and dreams of what might have been.

Now 21 years later, Monique has made her living writing romance novels and the one thing all her male leads have in common is the fact that they have a strong resemblance to Tyler, but where her relationship with him ended, her books all have the classic HEA that she secretly wishes they had shared.

Cover to Covers is a really slow starter. Our leading male doesn’t have any attractive qualities, his lifestyle was creepy and his personality was not appealing. He clearly had no respect for women and the way he treated his ‘soon to be ex’ wife was appalling and set the tone for my feelings toward him from that point on.

I pitied Monique and the fact that she had been harbouring these feelings for the man for so long and that it didn’t take her long to go back to him. Sadly just when I thought she had come to her senses, realised her mistake, and left him again, she falls for his BS again.

Personally I’d have kicked his ass to the kerb 21 years ago and left it there! Some characters don’t deserve a HEA and I’m sure if we pick up this story two years down the line Monique will have realised she hasn’t got one either!

Not my favourite romance novel.

Extraordinary well-written novel all about second chances, Tyler Moore is the CEO of Propel Oil Company and Monique Delome is a famous romance writer, who get a second chance at love when they meet again at the Ritz Carlton 21 years later where Ty is Suppose to be meeting a client there, and Moe is supposed to be there for a romance book convention going on near the hotel.

Now let me start off by saying that I felt like Tyler and Moe were more in their early thirties than their forties and fifties, Tyler who just felt at least to me, like a young bachelor not ever looking to settle down just flirting and sleeping with as many woman as he can , never mind that he’s been married and divorced twice, And Moe has also been married and divorced. Tyler and Moe are each other’s First love but when Moe’s mother becomes ill she moves back to new Orleans and Tyler just let’s her go and doesn’t look back even though she was his first true love. This story is about the ups and downs Tyler faces trying to win he back 21 years later the story is written his in his P.O.V. and I liked that, we could read the struggles he goes through to be with the woman he wants and the choices he think he has to make like run the company he’s worked his whole life for, or be with the woman he’s always wanted and a few more other obstacles along the way.

I have to say I enjoyed this book a lot!! It was a fast read, I think I got through it within 3 hours on a lazy Sunday afternoon, It had every thing I love in a book, two sexy characters, a beautiful love story, and a hint a sexy with steamy scenes written in the book that made me blush and fan my cheeks, all in all I would give this book 6 stars if I could, but a 5 will have to do, And I will most definitely read more novels by Alexandrea Weis .

I love reading stories that are different. Cover to Covers was one of them!

The story was laid out and written wonderfully with enough emotion to keep readers interests peaked and enticed.

Tyler Moore is a two time divorced oil company owner who has had his share of women, but always wanted something more. He always wondered how his girlfriend of long ago fared in life. The girl he caught, but wasn't able to keep.

While in a hotel in Dallas he ends up finding out from a authors manager that there is a convention for romance writers. After he finishes chatting up Chris, the manager, he realizes that the author Chris represents is Monique Delome, an up and coming writer who just so happens to be his old flame. His Moe.

Tyler ends up reading her books and he realizes that all the male characters are based off of him, but they got happy endings when he did not. After reading the books, he confronts her and they have a night of passion and it puts a flame into Tyler that he has never had before. He must be with her and at any cost. Leaving work behind he ventures to New Orleans in hopes of rekindling their relationship.

However, things are not always as easy as one thinks. Can they be able to have a second chance at things and make it work or is Tyler too afraid to commit to the one person he has always wanted to be with.

Cover To Covers was filled with steamy moments, heartfelt talks, risks, dreams, and wishes. I felt connected to the characters as they developed. I found myself rooting for them not only in love, but in their personal achievements as well. I give this book 4 stars and urge readers to add this to the TBR list. You will find yourself addicted in no time!

My review:

Cover to Covers is the first book by Alexandrea Weis which I read and I truly enjoyed it! It was a quick read which was well-written, which had a decent plot and captivating characters.

You meet Monique and Tyler who have a common past. Today, Monique is pursuing a carrier as an author and Tyler is a CEO of a petroleum company.
Monique has been hurt, because love hurts and therefore she thinks that is it safer to put all her love into her writing.. and she does it successfully. The day she has a book signing event in Texas, Tyler shows up The intriguing fact in Monique's books is, that the male leads always seem to be similar to Tyler. Are they? Does Monique write about her time with Tyler? Is Monique capable of showing the great love showed in her books also in the real world?

Cover to Covers is lovable for many reasons.

First, I loved Tyler's point of view. It was interesting to read and experience a man's emotions, thoughts, feelings. And the author did a great work with Tyler's voice in my opinion.

Second, I loved the plot. The whole idea of an author putting the man of her life into her books is intriguing. Also, the small twists and turns in the story were well placed.

Third, I had some troubles with understanding Monique in the beginning, because she did Express her thoughts and what she wanted as clearly as I wanted. But she grew on me. Strongly. And that I see as a good character development.

Fourth, I loved to read a book about people who are not in their twenties. Both of the main characters were already mature individuals and you don't see many books around which deal with mature love. It takes courage to write about that and I admire AlexandreaWeis for doing it.

Read it! I will definitely read more of Alexandrea's books!

We meet Tyler Moore at the Ritz-Carlton being hit on by the receptionist at the desk. He's in his 50's, tall, dark, and handsome. He's CEO of an oil company and twice divorced. He loves his casual no strings attached sex. He doesn't do relationships anymore. But when he runs into the one that got away, Monique, who's now a romance writer, his world is about to change.

Monique has had a pretty quiet life writing her romance novels. She's been divorced once and just because she writes Tyler into all of her novels it doesn't mean she's coming at Tyler with open arms.

Finally, after realizing she does still have feelings for Tyler she decides to give him another chance.

Tyler and Moe both have to let go of the past in order to have a future together. There's hurt, guilt, and anguish that's built for 20 years. It's hard to let go of but they have to. Secrets will come out, lives will change but is it all 20 years to late? Can you, no matter your age, change the course of your life and make up for mistakes made in the past?

Read this wonderful tale about a romance novelist maybe finding her HAE.

Truth be told, age is nothing but a number. You're never too old to chase your dreams and make amends.

A man driven by his desires.
Tyler Moore is considered cold, ruthless, and determined to get everything he wants. CEO of a flourishing oil company, he thrives on order and never gives up control to anyone.
The woman from his past.
Monique Delome has left her unhappy past behind to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. Love is something she believes is better suited to the pages of her novels and not meant for real life.
Whether in the boardroom or the bedroom, Tyler Moore is always in charge. But when Monique Delome walks back into his life, everything changes. A successful romance author, all the sexy leading men Monique writes about strangely remind everyone of Tyler. Intrigued, Tyler sets out to seduce the one woman he could never forget. Soon Tyler gets more than he bargained for, and his grip on his well-ordered life is turned upside down. Tyler Moore is about to find out what happens when a romantic tale jumps from the pages and comes to life between the sheets.
Sometimes you just want to reach inside the book and smack some of the characters. Thats how you will feel with Tyler. Then he grows up! 4 stars.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars.

A little different romance for me. The H/h are mature adults. He's 50, she's somewhere north of 40. They originally met in college, had a platonic but significant relationship and then they walked away from each other. He's been married twice but can't get his first love out of his mind. She has become a successful romance fiction writer with all of her male leads patterned after her first love. They meet again when she's attending a writer's convention in Dallas promoting her latest book. He's the CEO of a large oil company headquartered in Dallas.

There are a lot of bumps in the road in trying to put their relationship back together. One interesting side trip happens when the platonic pair become unplatonic and they both have a "kinky" side. The romance writer lives in New Orleans and I enjoyed the book's descriptions and travelogue around that exciting city.

A good read.

This is an extremely fast read and a good one. I enjoyed how the author didn't make the lead male a great guy at first, that he was this arrogant guy that thought he was gods gift to woman. I loved the female lead was strong and independent and didn't need him. I loved that there was a true struggle for them to be together. The author showed depth in both characters which is always great to see. I was a little disappointed that it was a short book, thought there would be more to their story, and also not a lot of detail in the secondary characters.

More and Tyler met twenty years ago, dated for six months and then it was over. They then meet up twenty years later and their feelings have not changed. They still want each other. So can they make their second chance work? With some obstacles around and some soul reaching could they make this work?

I loved this author and I hope to read more of her books soon.

Cover to Covers is the first book by Alexandrea Weis I've read, I really enjoyed it. The writing was very good and had perfect flow.

Monique and Tyler both have a met before but when they meet many years later so many things have changed. Tyler is the CEO of his stepfather's company, Monique is an author.

When they meet again there is still attraction and longing for one another. With so much history and a lot to discuss, Tyler goes to her book signing. What he didn't know is that he is the male lead in all her books. Trying to make things work as a couple, will they trust and put the past behind them?

Heartwarming, emotional, touching and mature adult romance. I will definitely read more of Alexandrea's books.
