This is a Psychological Thriller with a end that you won’t see coming!
I have to admit that in the beginning of the book, I was not impressed at all. In fact, I really considered closing it and not looking back.
Paige in the beginning of the book will make you very angry, you will think... what the heck is this lady thinking... why is she putting up with this. Abuse is Abuse.
But.... I kept with the book mainly because I switched to the Audiobook, and the narration was very good. So, once I got into it, I really couldn’t put it down.
You know you hear about dark clouds hanging over people that bring them nothing but bad luck... well, a dark cloud was certainly hanging over this lady.
I also love the depiction of a small town... how so very true....
Could this nightmare happen? I hope not, I hope that there isn’t that many gullible people in our society... but wait... maybe it could.

With every blink of the eye,
"Don't Blink" became more and more far-fetched.
Yet, I was engaged and entertained by this fast-paced, twisty, "this could never, ever happen in the real world" popcorn thriller.
I would spoil the storyline if I cited examples of the book's multiple "this could never, ever happen in the real world" moments, so I will refrain from doing so.
Although most of the book's twists were predictable, I did not guess the final twist, and I commend the author for this.
I listened to the audiobook read by Cynthia Farrell, who did a superb job with the narration.
This book was released in 2020 and somehow escaped my radar.

Argh - so far behind with my reviews...
This was a pretty good read, even if it stretched credulity towards the end when it got really suspenseful but I guess that is the hallmark of many thrillers. Paige Wilson is distraught after her brother, Ryan, is shot on her doorstep by gangsters that he owed money to. Now, confined to a wheelchair he blames his sister for not paying them what he owed and makes her life a misery until she puts her foot down. He doesn't like that at all and disappears again in a strop. Paige cares for her brother but is determined to live her own life as well so she marries the man who has swept her off her feet in a whirlwind romance - the rich and handsome Dylan Baxter.They quickly marry and on the morning after the wedding Paige wakes up from a stupor to find Dylan stabbed and dead beside her.
Paige freaks and runs as she thinks she will get the blame. She changes her name and moves to a small town. Five years later she is married again and eight months pregnant when it becomes apparent that someone is stalking and threatening her. Could Ryan still be alive? His wheelchair and one shoe were found on a beach but no body was ever recovered. The book then races to an adrenalin filled finale. Hold onto your hats folks! It wasn't perfect, she could have avoided a lot of trouble is she had gone to the police a lot earlier but his is fiction land and anything goes. Still a very good read.

I wanted to give this more stars. The author can write, and was very descriptive and really painted the picture of events well in my mind. However, the plot and story line were so absolutely ridiculous I found myself rolling my eyes at every page. It's like two different stories were smashed into one with complete disregard for if anything really made sense. Talk about artistic license.

It was an ok read, left me underwhelmed *spoilers*
I chose 4 stars because it was well written, with no spelling or punctuation errors. The characters and their reactions were believable. There were no odd analogies either.
I liked the main character; she seemed very likeable. However I did not like how she was such a pushover and how she allowed everyone to just walk all over her.
I read many suspense novels. Most plots are predictable to me and I usually know how the book is going to end before it I finish. This is one did surprise me, not with who the bad gal was or even how it ended. The part the suprised me was the motive. I like that.
It was not one of the best psychological thrillers I've read; it did not leave me saying "Wow, I did not see that coming!". It was an ok read, though.
One thing that did really bug me. Spoiler ahead......The husband believes that his wife cheated on him despite her denials and despite the trust they would have built to establish their relationship. I would like to believe that, in a healthy relationship, you trust your partner more than vicious gossip spreaders. I would like to believe that your husband wouldn't leave you, AT EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT, over RUMORS that you were carrying another man's child. I would hope he wouldn't only return after he heard you were doing a paternity test.
The way he treated the heroine in this novel was absolutely reprehensible. What a spineless excuse for a man. It kind of upsets me that L.G. Davis saddles her main character with such a worm of a husband, after everything the poor girl had been through.
It doesnt even feel like a happy ending to me. No man with a shred of decency in his body would desert his 8 month pregnant wife, even if he suspected the baby wasn't his.

Absurd
Everything about this book is absurd--the plot, the ridiculous plot twists, the totally unbelievable characters and their even more unbelievable behavior. There are lots of really well written free Amazon Prime books available. This is NOT one of them. Don't waste your time.

Review for book 1
I loved this book.
What a story I was hooked from the start and could not put it down until I turned the last page.
Paige Wilson Looks after her brother after a decision she made which she thought was the right one went wrong.
Her brother Ryan ends up in a wheelchair and she is looking after him, she does everything for him she has no life of her own because her brother lays the guilt on her and she believes it is all her fault and that she has to help him. I really like Paige I really felt for her. Then just when I thought things were looking up for her, BAM!!! an OMG moment happens and it blows what I thought out of the window.
Ryan well I am not 100% sure about I wasn’t sure how to take him one minute he was dark and brooding and scary towards Paige then he was all nice. I understand why he is mad at things but to blame his sister is wrong.
So much happens in this book! I have so many questions.
I am not going to go into details of the book as I do not want to give away spoilers but this book will play with your head a little I am thinking all sorts right now and I will be waiting patiently for book 2 for the answers.
This book is very well written and I do love the authors writing.

This duet is perfect, I loved the first book and I loved this one, if I could give this series more I would.
I have enjoyed Caitlin's story though not easy to read in some parts you just want to hug her.. I don't want to give anything away, You will have to read Book 1 to fully understand what is going on in book 2 it must be read!!!!! This book will keep guessing until near the end. I really didn't work it out at all. So was a really nice surprise when it is finally revealed. Cause I didn't see that coming at all. I thought it was totally someone else.
I couldn't put this book down till I got to the last page. just loved everything about it.
I love L.G Davis writing and I can't wait to read more of her books.. If this Duet is anything to go by they will be amazing.

Just underwhelming!
I thought this book was ridiculous from the beginning, but then I read further thinking that maybe I was too harsh because guilt is a strong emotion. Then, when things got so bad with Ryan and his sister still didn't seem help, I thought this is ridiculous. It just went on and on with more craziness that isn't even sensible in fiction. One woman capable of not only killing two people, but then paying off several townspeople to go along with her diabolical plot to steal this woman's baby after following her for over three years! If as a reader you think this book was great, well, I really can't insult you, but all I can ask is why? BTW, I have it a two because the writer actually tried and worked enough to put this ridiculous story on paper.

Raw, Intense and Leaves you Invested!
This was my first read by this author.
What a page turner. Paige’s character is one of such strength and resolve. My admiration for her throughout the book was one of envy.
Paige’s life was challenging, and having to always be the responsible one growing up while constantly never being appreciated took its toll.
Her brother Ryan literally took my breath away and caused me to pause on more than one occasion by his actions. His attitude, and abuse was difficult for Paige to dissect, much less live a normal life.
After several events Paige’s life starts to look up, but then tragedy happens leaving me wondering what, why, whom, and how?
This book was intense, but honest in its interpretation of the reality. I was both affected by the many moments as well as amazed by the writers ability to capture such raw emotion transporting you to the very depths of the characters journey.
After managing to wrap my head around the repulsive, emotional, and torturous acts of pure malice-and hatred by Ryan, I wondered how this book would play out.
You will be taken aback, and I assure you it will deliver a punch.
The main character finds herself in a maze of events that has you leaning in the back of your seat scratching your head, thinking, what’s up.
At first you’re perplexed, but you also celebrated her newfound beginnings. However, not all is what it seems, so don’t get to comfortable.
The events unfold like the layers of an onion. They become more bizarre leading you down a directive of detective work. Once you think you have things cornered, the author throws a wrench in the mix, or a bone. Nope, recalculate, think again.
I literally was on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what was lurking around the corner, or what was actually taking place. I’d come to realize no matter how much you yell at an e-reader the characters cannot hear you. Really they can’t. Lol
I was subliminally trying to help the characters along, save them, warn them and just plain try to make them understand it’s all NOT WHAT YOU THINK.
Yes, the author delivered. She not only served up a book, she outdid herself. When I’d realized at moments I was holding my breath, thats the moment it’s pings, the author has done her job. She engaged you in her world, and you became a part of it.
The story was emotionally engaging, and dramatically well written. The anticipation and aha factor were guiding you like the North Star.
A must read, drama, love story, mystery.

Contrived
This book is written as if the author had 1 good idea, then didn't know what else to do with the plot. In the first section, one may wonder (hope this isn't a spoiler): why doesn't she "make other arrangements"? I actually kept reading with the hope that would happen. When the second "section" was barely a continuation, I read to see how badly Davis would have to work for a consistent thread. Just let me say: false, contrived, (& any synonyms you might care to add). I'd suggest reading only the first part, then finish the story in your mind. It'd better than Davis did. fjs

Ridiculous storyline
The main character was hard to like and the plots were so outrageous and unbelievable! This wasn't a smart psychological thriller at all - coming up with ridiculous scenarios and a main character whose poor decision making fitted the storyline too neatly made the reading both exasperating and boring. I would not recommend this book to anyone who likes well thought out and highly crafted psychological thrillers with characters who are believable.

Dark and improbable
I had to give up on this book 35% of the way through, and it's rare for me not to read a book to the end. The behavior of the main character was so incredibly unbelievable. I don't think any sand person would willingly tolerate the abuse she experienced. I found this book deeply disturbing

I really enjoy the books I have read by this author so far. This is another one that kept me entertained and interested until the end. I like to try and figure out the ending. I wasn't able to do it with this book, that's a bonus!

This book was previously published as a duology and maybe this could work for the heroine to go through such turmoil twice, but for a single book it was too much. Too much drama, too much martyr syndrome. It was as if she is a magnet to hateful and disturbed people to always be blamed for their misfortunes.
Not my favorite kind of mystery anyway... I want my heroines with more backbone and my vilains smarter..

The protagonist is ALREADY STUPID ENOUGH TAKING THE REPEATED ABUSE FROM HER BROTHER. It got VERY TIRING HEARING THE SAME ABUSE OVER AND OVER.
She COMPOUNDS HER STUPIDITY by disappearing and running from the hotel room where she finds her new husband dead in her bed.
I had enough abuse from reading the story. I wasn't about to be subjected to more abuse from the author in this totally unrealistic novel. I didn't care to find out what happened. It is a waste of anyone's time.
I would not read anything ever again fro. this very poor author.

Don't Blink! It's more like don't breathe Don't Close Your Eyes!
Wow of all the Thrillers I have read this one definitely takes the cake. My heart was in my throat through the whole story. I can't believe what Ryan put Paige through. The verbal emotional and physical abuse that she took from him was unbelievable and to think he was her brother. To blame her for him being shot by his shoddy friends was a big joke. I was super super happy when Paige finally decided to put her foot down and stand up to Ryan after all the years of abuse. How sad though but things came to a head with her and Dylan. I honestly thought it was Ryan that killed him. For Paige to move away have a new identity fall in love and get married again was a nice surprise. That all of a sudden things started happening and for a while there I really thought Ryan was alive and that he was the one that was tormenting her never in my wildest dreams did I think there was another person behind all this. I was just happy in the end to find out Caitlin (Paige) and Jared were able to get their life back together and then shocked when Tracy showed up in Caitlin's hospital room and put a gun in her mouth. The best thing that could happen was for Tracy to shoot herself then they know for a fact but Tracy can't hurt them anymore. I truly believe Caitlin loved Ryan and really wished he was back in her life but how much of a life would she have had if things didn't end up the way they did. This is definitely a book I will remember for a long time.
Wow of all the Thrillers I have read this one definitely takes the cake. My heart was in my throat through the whole story. I can't believe what Ryan put Paige through. The verbal emotional and physical abuse that she took from him was unbelievable and to think he was her brother. To blame her for him being shot by his shoddy friends was a big joke. I was super super happy when Paige finally decided to put her foot down and stand up to Ryan after all the years of abuse. How sad though but things came to a head with her and Dylan. I honestly thought it was Ryan that killed him. For Paige to move away have a new identity fall in love and get married again was a nice surprise. Not great
Although this book was well written, I could not get past how the main character's naivety and willingness to be a doormat frustrated me throughout most of the story. She felt that she deserved misery and I have no patience with a character who feels sorry for themselves when they are responsible for their own poor decisions. I would read another book by this author, but hope next time the main character has some backbone.

Don’t Blink may be one of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read in the last two years. It is thrilling, intriguing, full of twists, a page turner and leaves you on the edge of your seat, guessing until just about the last page.
Rather than recap the story, suffice it to say this story is filled with strong characters and bold narratives, that at times will make you cringe. The plot is filled with horrific instances of abuse, psychological warfare and terror so blinding you can only hope to see the main character through to better times - even if it may seem somewhat unrealistic. I always believe that fiction is born out of a half-cocked truth or idea. That’s truly scary.
I read this book in one sitting, a true testament to the type of page turner it is. If you’re looking for a different type of book that sets itself apart from the other thrillers out there, I encourage you to read Don’t Blink.

Very good
This book packed a lot of stories for Caitlain. First she was looking after her wheelchair bound brother Ryan then second she married Dylan a millionaire she met after Ryan died, only for Dylan to be murdered in their wedding night. She flees the hotel and keeps going until she finds a nice little town along the sea fearing she might be blamed for Dylan's death. There she meets and married Jared and falls pregnant. Blissfully happy until she finds out someone's out to get her. Is it someone from her past has the police caught up with her. You will be surprised at the ending? Very good book L.G. Davis📕👍👍

Excellent thriller: it's engrossing, it's unpredictable, it's CLEAN!!!!
I love this author. Her stories are interesting, suspenseful, and in this case, unpredictable. I never would have guessed the antagonist. Most likely, you won't either! Best of all, I can enjoy the twisted plot without tiresome, cheap sex scenes or derogatory language - a clean experience, unfortunately, that grows harder and harder to find. Ms. Davis, thank you for your engaging, gripping stories. Keep writing and I will keep reading; you've won yourself a lifetime fan!

Wow omg wow
This book kept me captivated from the beginning to the end and although one thing disappointed me the rest was all out great! I don’t spoiler alert other readers because I think that is very crass thing to do to fellow lovers, but when I tell you you won’t be able to put this one down honey! Get your comfy clothes on and tell your family you gone need a few hours to yourself. Grab you a drink and snacks and lie back and enjoy the ride!

I liked the way the author formed the plot; her psychotic brother kept me on the edge of my seat, but at times it was just too over the top. I kept waiting for the teacher to do something to stop the abuse, but she just kept taking it.
Then the murder of her husband on the wedding night was a stretch. Running away was strange and then her life in the small town was also a stretch of the imagination.
I did enjoy the writing though, so I gave it 4 stars.

Such a weepy read
While I have read several of these books it seems all of them have the same main character, a weepy, wimpy woman, and while I get that it's fiction , I know of no woman who is such an emotional wreck and takes all of the insults and abuse that these characters go through!! How about writing the same novel but one where the women are strong and don't take the stuff like they do for almost the entire read!!

"Don’t Blink" (2019) by L.G. Davis is an ultimately unsatisfying novel about Paige, a teacher who faces obstacles to her happiness due to, among other issues, her angry, wheelchair-bound brother with whom she lives tormenting her every day. I wanted to like the book but I found the main character too whiny and unlikable. Also, the storyline goes way off in another direction, one that pushed my suspend disbelief meter too far. Not recommended.

Seems like you will either love this book or find it ridiculous...I happen to fall under the latter. It reads like a cheesy Lifetime original movie in my opinion. The author seems to have taken two or three different story lines and mushed them together but not in a very cohesive manner. All of the characters are hard to like at all, even Paige/Caitlyn. Everything in the story line is just too "convenient". It wasn't the worst book I have ever read, just really not my cup of tea.

I wanted to leave more stars because the author genuinely has potential, but this is the most annoying plot and truly unlikable character I’ve read in a long time..... and I’m not even talking about the abusive brother. I would definitely not consider this a psychological thriller for those who often read the genre. I can’t remember the last time I struggled through a book so badly.
