A very compelling thriller based around gang culture and set in the area of Greater Manchester, it is written in a very believable and gritty manner and is peopled by realistic, multi-faceted characters, both good and bad.
Sophie and Jack, the two main protagonists, are great characters, determined to find out who murdered the young woman, and where Louie, a vulnerable schoolboy has disappeared to.
An exciting, and at times violent, thriller. However it is a little darker than I like, so that is why 4 stars and not 5.

It was ok. Just ok. I think I’ll take a break from this series. It’s not very consistent and, besides, they seem to be one of. Not much of an ongoing’ness to them.

This story focuses a lot more on Jack, Sophie’s boyfriend. She is still quite needy and insecure, she’s still sober and she’s still trying to help those battling addiction. Jack is a PI who’s helping find missing teens. Turns out they seem to be caught up in a drug ring that’s run by two thugs Jack knows well. They were bullies in school and they’ve grown to be abusive adults preying ok innocent kids to do their dirty work. Will Jack be able to put a stop to them even when the police cannot?

Sophie isn't sure where she and Jack are heading in their relationship. She decides to get away to a women's retreat. The women she meets are all very different, each with their own issues. Then there is a body. The police do not believe it was murder but Sophie is convinced and continues to investigate. This was a page turner and you were not sure what would be revealed as each page came along.
I was given a copy of this book to read in return for my honest review.

Resentments and Revenge (Sophie Brown Book 4) by Diane Ezzard is a wonderful story that I have read. This is book number four in this wonderful series and I highly recommend this story to all.

Another great story by this author. I enjoyed this fast paced book. It has wonderful characters that I love. I loved the plot. This book will keep you entertained with no down time. I just love this author.
