I was disappointed at first that this book didn't have photographs of platypuses (platypi?), but the text was full of information and written so that my 3s and 4s could understand it and learn a lot. Me too!

Not a huge fan of the illustration style but a decent look into the animal; suitable for 9U.

This is a great nonfiction book for kids. This book takes you into the life of a platypus and shares so many interesting facts. This book would be great for an animal project.

We're studying the animals of Australia and I found that I really enjoyed reading this book to my kids. It's told in a non-fiction way which I liked and was very simple to understand. On every page was an extra little fact about the platypus - nothing too complicated, but at the same time very interesting. The illustrations are creative and match the text really well. At the end are additional facts about the platypus, including where they live in Australia which I found to be very helpful.

This is a great book to add to your list if you are studying Australian animals and want a straight forward and interesting approach to the subject.

I really liked reading this book because i learned things about platypus' that i hadn't even known. In the beginning and end of the book, there are lists of information about them, like where they live, their scientific name, how much they weigh, etc. In the back they include words the people reading the book should be familiar with. Throughout the book, the illustrator does an awesome job showing where and how they eat, and many more aspects. I believe without the pictures, you wouldnt be able to understand as well.

This book gives facts on a platypus and it has an easy to understand glossary. Good time to introduce a glossary. This book has air bubbles as here you can fid additional information! So cool! This author writes other animal books that I'm definitely going to look into!

This is an excellent book to learn about the mysterious Platypus. It is designed as a fiction story but is interspersed with facts about this creature. The images are lovely, and the story is brief yet informational!

I have to give a report on Platypus' in May. So I've been reading books about them to learn more about the unusual animal.

This book follows a platypus & her 2 babies.

I really liked this book, I didn't know most of the things they talked about in here! I think the kids will like it because it's an animal that isn't always talked about.
