Nurse's Date with a Billionaire kind of seemed like a movie from Lifetime or Hallmark. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it ever become one or if it will in the near future. It was cheesy, predictable, and had it's cute moments from time to time. In it, you will meet Kali and Craig. She is a nurse who just recently joined the ICU floor. While he is a current patient in the ICU.
The day he wakes up, he doesn't really know where or who he is. All he wants to do is locate his pants. Which, yes, it made me laugh cause he's walking throughout the hospital trying to find his pants. After Kali locates him, she brings him back to the room to be examined. A couple of hours later, Craig was able to bamboozle the hospital staff and walked right out without being discharged.
So it's safe to say that Kali was quite surprised when she walked into him outside the food bank later that day. Since she's a pretty decent human being, she offers to give a place to sleep for the night since he can't seem to find one for himself. Especially since he doesn't remember anything or have his wallet/money to pay for a hotel.
Throughout the book, it was nice to see them getting closer to one another. Not really romantically but just trying to figure out who he truly was. Once they did, I figured the drama was going to come right away. Enter Bunny. Oh man, I didn't like his little fiancé. Something just seemed off/fishy when it came to her so I was very happy with what happened between them towards the end of the book.
Also seeing both of their families just made me smile. Oh, and the bantering between these two. It also doesn't hurt that the epilogue was beyond cute and just put a smile on my face. I think it's safe to assume that this book was pretty easy to devour and fall in love with.
Unfortunately, by the 25% point, it had not. It just seemed to spin it’s wheels, going nowhere. Not a book I want to finish. Not a book I would recommend.
Cute romantic storyline and a sweet hero & heroine, but the plot felt a little underdeveloped & the writing a little simple for my taste. For a medical romance I also would have liked to see more actual medicine/hospital action.
The plot was predicable and superficial. The dialogue was also robotic and the characters lacked depth. There were exclamation marks after almost every sentence which made the characters less realistic and more like cartoon characters. There were some cute and funny moments in the book, it was a decent read.
This was my first experience with Amelia Addler’s work. As an exceptionally clean Christian oriented story I was very impressed. The characters were well developed and true to life. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Addler’s offerings.
Craig has fallen and has a head wound and when he wakes up in ICU he can't remember who he is, where he is or how he got there. When he leaves the hospital without permission and ends up at a soup kitchen, he runs into the beautiful nurse he remembers from his stay in the ICU. Taking pity on him and fearful that he will freeze to death on his own during the winter in Wisconsin, Kali takes him home and lets him stay in her available rental basement apartment. She feeds him and helps him get some clothes, a job and settle in until he remembers who he is. She is adamant about this being a professional relationship but when her nasty coworker discovers them together, she blackmails Kali with a photo she took of the two of them together and threatens to take it to the ethics board.
When Craig finally remembers who he is and returns home to London, he realizes how wonderful his life was with Kali and how even though he is a billionaire he doesn't like who he is. Is it possible for him to change the course of his life and grab onto the things that truly make him happy?
This was a sweet, clean romance with a happy ending. I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
This was just an odd book all the way around. The character's personalities were just, missing something and I felt there were a lot of gaps and inconsistencies. Writing style was pretty jumpy too and I never felt I got into the main characters. Secondary characters lacked any real connection and although I finished the book, there were a lot of empty areas. It's a clean romance (which wasn't the problem), Standalone, and HEA.
This is a fun, super “clean” romance. The characters are fun and human, and the storyline was one not used a lot in my reading.
There were a couple things a proofreader or editor should have caught...wrong character’s name used and a couple typos...but, the storyline was worth these annoyances.
I love my husband just like Kali, so I really felt all the wonderful feelings Kali and Craig were feelung, just as Tom and I do. Thank you for making me feel so much while I was enjoying the read!
I could not get into this book. Man with amnesia...urgh...dialogue was off, seemed like the hero and heroine were stiff, no matter how much the hero laughed at his situation...just NO! Sorry...
I loved the story idea and thought I was in for a cute read. Managed to finish the book but couldn’t get into the dialogue what so ever, feel like it’s missing something for Craig.
An absolutely wonderful story about an amnesiac and a nurse. He's goofy; she's serious. The story flows nicely from start to finish. Totally clean and G rated. Easy read with strong characters and a happily ever after. Enjoy.
Author: Amelia Addler Title: Nurse’s Date with a billionaire Pages: 168 Genre: Billionaire romance
Nurse’s date with a billionaire by Amelia Addler is a standalone slow burn billionaire romance from the Billionaire Date Book Series. (1)
Kali was only 19 when she lost her first love when her fiancé died in leukemia. She cared for him until the last minute and the only think that keeps her going ever since is taking care of others working as a nurse.
Craig wakes up in a hospital not even knowing his own name. The only thing what can be known about him is that he has a British accent. After he leaves the hospital is the first time, he truly realizes how alone he is. Without a name, money, or a place to stay he is heading for the food bank to at least get some food and that’s when he sees the nurse who was taking care of him in the hospital.
Kali can’t stand to let Craig live on the street, so she offers him to stay at the apartment she was about to rent out. And he is not the only one who finds shelter in her home, there are foster ferrets, budgies, and cats in her care too. As time passes, they get closer and closer but when they about to take their relationship to the next level Craig true identity is discovered.
Will they be able to find the way to each other when thousands of kilometers separate them?
This is the first book that I read from Amelia Addler and let me tell you this book was nothing I imagined it would be. It was so much more. What a lovely story. I was so caught up in it that I read it in a day.
Kali is basically a saint; I have no other words for it. She is so nice to everyone, always putting others before herself. She deserves to have happiness in her life. I liked Craig’s humor, and how he interacted with everyone.
Overall, it was a good read.
I gave this book 5 stars. Spice level:0
Billionaire romance/ slow burn/ nurse/ cats/ British man/ Wisconsin
I was actually pretty fond of Kali, the heroine. She had some spark. Though I feel like she was a bit young for the kind of nursing position she had. Kali had serious goals, including being a pet foster. (Loved that part.)
While the writing was clunky at times, I liked their friendship. Romance felt really empty, however.
I didn't always follow the passages that cidef too immature. Craig had too much self loathing and Kali felt too much guilt. Yet those times with Chip, a stray kitten, or walking around the city trying to help figure out who he is really worked. His stories about working as a construction worker were relatable. I liked that it wasn't easy.
Unfortunately, the one major plot line felt too forced. I don't understand the romance. And there were logistics of plot movement that stayed unanswered, the antagonist's motivations. Superficial level yet major plot devices.
Author describes it as a sweet/clean romance, but there are sensual scenes that don't turn sexual. There wasn't any closed door elements at all. I got tired of hearing about Kalu's beauty. Seemed misplaced for a guy with amnesia to focus on that.
I love a well written clean billionaire romance, and Amelia Addler’s Nurse's Date with a Billionaire (Billionaire Date Book 1) most definitely qualifies as such. Kali and Craig’s story is a great one even if not an easy one, with his amnesia, what he finally remembers and the impact of s if this on a budding romance. I haven’t read anything by this author before but based on this book I’m going to have to change that. That’s probably the best endorsement I can give. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
Kali was a nurse on ICU at the local hospital, when a patient who was unconscious after being brought to the hospital. They put him in ICU with Kali to watch him, when he finally came to he did not know who he was or anything. Betsy her superior made her stay with him as she was a new nurse on her floor. She tried to get her fired but that fell through, only getting herself into trouble. This is a story about how some people take their superior position in their jobs a little further than they should trying to intimidate their help. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Nurse's Date with a Billionaire: Billionaire date book 1
This was a cute fast read and not a bad start for a novelist. The circumstance is novel which always is good. There were a couple subplots which were also good. It just lacked depth of character development I think if I were to guess since I'm not a writer. The story just felt like we were floating on the surface of the novel, getting the condensed version. So the circumstances of the characters and they themselves needed to be delved into deeper for a more substantial read. As I am a visual artist I would describe it as the difference between 2 dimensional vs 3 dimensional. I hope I am making myself clear.
It was a little shaky in the beginning, the middle of the book led perfectly up to the climax, and the ending could not have been executed better! It was absolutely the best billionaire book I've ever read!!😍 I also was hooked by chapter 2, and lost a lot of sleep over it.😴 So I recommend this book to any one who loves to read clean romances bud to life, enjoy learning something new, and absolutely... HOT BILLIONAIRES!!!!!😆😍 I however would not recommend this book to any one who loves their sleep.😴 Well, I going to bed..... Finally!😏 Good reading, and Good Night!🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑 SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!
A great start to her writing career! When Kali met Craig she was his ICU nurse. He had been robbed and was suffering from amnesia. When he is discharged he has nowhere to stay, so she offers him the apartment in her basement until his memory returns. They develop feelings for each other, but neither will admit it due to the circumstances. When his memory returns he has some difficult decisions to make. Will he return to his old life? Will they have a future together? Great characters, story, and writing. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Craig can’t remember who he is or where he belongs. Kali is the nurse at the hospital where he woke up. She graciously allows him to stay in her basement studio apartment while he is still trying to figure out how to get his memory back or what to do if it doesn’t.
I love the way the author wrote the characters humor, kind of goofy and witty but respectful and clean. I enjoyed the premise of this story as well. It captured my attention from the beginning and held it all through to the end!!! Well done!!
Clean and funny romance. Male main character gets amnesia. Female main character goes out of her comfort zone to try and help him pick up the pieces. I liked the upbeat and quirky characters. The dialogue was amusing. The plot may have been a bit ridiculous but it was fun. The emotional connection of the romance was a little hard to embrace because of the personality confusion caused by the amnesia but some of that is worked out towards the ending and the rest is just swept under a very expensive rug. Very nice happy ending. Minimal violence. No sex. Mild language.
This is a short and sweet story about two people from different backgrounds getting together under unlikely circumstances.
Craig wakes up in a hospital with amnesia and meets Kali who goes above and beyond her job description as a nurse to help him out. In doing so, she risks losing the thing that she loves most. As Craig starts to remember who he is, they could lose the bond that they have formed. Can this bond survive what they are faced with?
In spite of their difficult situation, the humour is refreshing. I like the self discovery message that comes across. A pleasant read.
If you are looking for a cute, romantic story, this could work. Liked the characters. Easy to follow, good pace, not so repetitive or overflowing with boring descriptions of places, people, etc. It made me smile while reading it, and even made me feel butterflies, but unlike several stories nowadays, it was not unnecessarily and unrealistically sexy. This one I read little by little, at lunch break, between classes, while enjoying some quiet time at the school playground, with trees around me. Really enjoyed this reading.
Craig wakes up in the ICU of a hospital in Madison, Wisconsin with amnesia. His nurse Maoists tries to calm him down and has a doctor examine him. Craig is transferred to another floor from which he his able to escape the hospital.
Unable to remember his name,, or anything else about himself where is Craig to go now that he left the hospital? How is he going to find shelter? Food? Will he be able to remember who he is? What happens when he runs into his nurse from the ICU?
