What a wonderful start to a new series! I would love to find a small town like Cinnamon Bay, NC to live in. I loved the eccentric three matchmaker women who is in everyone’s business! Eva owns a coffee shop that everyone stops in, especially the three friends that believe the Cafe Amour will make two people fall in love if the drink the coffee. Eva is a wonderful person, but has had some bumps in her life. I can understand why she thinks men will leaver her. Mac is so thoughtful and feels bad that he is looking for biological relatives after his adopted parents have been so good to him. Eva and Mac has such a strong attraction that I couldn’t help but want them to get together. I love the way this love story played out, and strongly encourage you to read the book.
This book was an enjoyable read. I intend to read the next book in this series. I thought the characters were very well developed. The main characters in the book are Eva Holloway and Macklin Jenssen. They both have issues they are dealing with and they are both relationship and family issues. Eva Holloway inherited a coffee shop from her Grandmother. She changes the name of the shop and removes a coffee drink from the menu that was a sort of love potion. She takes it off because she doesn't think it works. It is also an effort to make the shop her own. She also has issues with a Father who abandoned her when she was young. She is also getting over a relationship where they were close to being married where he calls if off at the last minute. Macklin Jenssen has come to town looking for the family who gave him up for adoption. There was no profanity that I remember and there are a couple of scenes where Eva and Macklin have sex; but I didn't think the telling of it by the author was overly graphic which I appreciated. Also it seems that whenever they did that it caused more problems with their relationship than it helped it. However, I though the storyline was excellent. The excerpt regarding the book ask the question about Macklin and Eva's relationship, "It might be opposites attract..." but I thought they had more in common than they had differences. They both were very intelligent individuals, they both run their own business, they both have family issues they are trying to come to grips with. I think one of the reasons they gel is they seem to understand the feelings of the other. There are parts of this book that are funny and parts that are sad. I enjoyed it thoroughly and look forward to the next books in the series. I myself am a Genealogist and I enjoyed the family history part of this as well as the stories associated with their family histories. I have also read and written reviews for a number of books for Shannyn Leah, Nikki Lynn Barrett, and Holly Cortelyou and so I am looking forward to the other books in this series.
What a great start to what I know will be a fabulous series, one that I have been a part of in the little Facebook group Coffee Talk on the Boardwalk - I even got to name one of the shops. This prequel sets up Cinnamon Bay and it's quirky characters perfectly. Eva owns Brewed with a View and is just wanting it to be a success. Mac comes to town looking for some information on his biological family. What they both don't expect is each other. Delightful, funny, sweet and fabulous. Super excited and cant wait for the next one.
I fell in love with Macklin. Their back story helped build the romance. Can’t wait to read the other books. Looking for you families roots is always hard. They both had to embrace their past. Can they really fall in love? You will have to read to find out.
This is a sink into feel good read. What a way to kick off a new small-town series. Quirky characters, fun storyline, romance. Definitely looking forward to reading more in the series
This small-town romance is the first of the Cinnamon Bay series, in which a different author writes each book. The story is set up nicely, introducing readers to the town and its sometimes-quirky inhabitants. I thought the romance between Mac and Eva was sweet, and I loved Hattie, Trixie, and Birdie. They reminded me a little of the Weird Sisters from Macbeth – if the Weird Sisters were meddling old ladies. There is a touch of magic (or is it simply fate?) involved, as well as a little bit of mystery. All of it works to create a charming and entertaining atmosphere resulting in a fun read. This review was written based on a complimentary pre-release digital ARC of the book.
What a great start to the Cinnamon Bay series. Love on the Boardwalk centers around Eva and Mac. Eva has inherited Brewed with a View from her deceased grandmother, Lilith. She decides to revamp the menu and her first order of business is removing the drink, Cafe Amour. The town’s matchmakers, Hattie, Trixie, and Birdie, object. They get Eva to make it and drink it for herself. She doesn’t believe it’s works in getting the people who drink it to fall in love. When Mac enters the coffee shop, the ladies get Eva to let Mac drink the remainder. This book is not just a love story, it’s also about growing as a person and realizing that things aren’t always how they appear. I can’t wait to read all the Cinnamon Bay books.
A delightful magical story of Faith, hope and love. The first book in the Cinnamon Bay Series was truly a feel good love book. It’s just what one needs in small town love story writing. It flows well, with that little bit of magic that everyone that falls in love wants to believe that they have in their own love story. Not all love is without angst, and because Eva cannot trust herself to love because of her parents divorce and her own first failed engagement, she manages to create her own. Not to fear, Mac is there to try and pick up the pieces and convince Eva that there is true love, and it doesn’t necessarily rely on magic love potions, but if it does, why not go with it? These wonderful authors have created a beautiful sounding town with all the draws of a touristy, homey, great character living, magical historical east coast haven. I am so excited to see what other characters will join the troublesome three, the quirky free living cousin, the near blind bat swinging Auntie, and the nosey well meaning coffee assistant and his husband that have their own romantic story in there somewhere. The town provides something for everyone, and I can’t wait for the next in series to find out more. Well done, ladies, well done.
Love on the Boardwalk is the first book I have read by Brea Viragh and it is a wonderful romance that offers lots of small town charm, humor and sweetness. This is Mac and Eva story they're both enjoyable characters along with all of side characters that are hilarious. Their attraction was strong and their chemistry generated lots of sparks. The storyline was engaging and fun but offers a solid amount of drama and emotional turmoil as this couple's relationship evolves into more than they ever imagined. I hope this becomes a series!

This first book of the Cinnamon Bay Romance series and we meet Eva Holloway, the owner of Brewed with a View coffee shop and Mac Jenssen who is trying to find about his birth family. Then you have the lovely old lady matchmakers Hattie, Trixie and Birdie. Eva is afraid of romance/love after Sean called off their engagement and her parents divorce. Eva decided to change the menu and took off legendary love concoction the Cafe Amour drink off. Mac happens to walk into the coffee shop. The matchmaking trio talks Eva into making a cup of the Cafe Amour drink and she and Mac both take a sip. Mac ends asking her to help him in his search about why his grand father gave him up for adoption. Mac loves his adopted family but, he needs to find some answers. By the time Eva closes up she is not sure if she wants or should help Mac. I must mention the Lighthouse also. Eva was told a story about the Lighthouse and it has ties to Mac's past so she told him the story. Eva and Mac decide to be friends with benefits. Mac and Eva go through a lot of up's and downs. To find out what happens you MUST read this awesome book!! This is a MUST read book!! I truly loved this book and can't until the next book in this series comes out.
Eva has had a lot of changes recently most aren't good but now she is surrounded by those that care about her (even when they meddle!) and is running her late grandmother Lilith's Brewed with a View coffee shop. Mac is in town to face his past and learn more about where he is from and after visiting Eva's shop he has more to keep him intrigued about Cinnamon Bay. Both Eva and Mac are a bit lost in life so it was was seeing them learn more about who they are and seeing their attraction to each other grow. Be ready for a great sweet read and was it the Cafe Amour that brought them together?! 😉
Romance, mystery, and magic in the quirky coastal town of Cinnamon Bay, North Carolina. This collaboration is sweet, entertaining, angsty and a wonderful read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A beautifully written book. Some wonderful characters, some intriguing characters., Well thought out story and brought together beautifully. I really loved the book that was so hard to put down.
You know right in the beginning of the book Eva and Mac will end up together. They've each drank the Cafe Amour and looked into each others eyes. So now it's just when and how and how many twists and turns the story will take and boy does it ever.... The book is well written and keeps your interest throughout the adventures. Really enjoyed this book.
The 1st book in the Cinnamon Bay series, and I found it to be such a cute read. It was well written, and kept moving and didnt drag along. I loved the characters in the book, and look forward to reading more books in this series and revisiting I am sure with some of the residents of this town. I would certainly recommend this book.
Eva is working to overcome her engagement ending and starting over with her coffee shop. However she doesn’t want to deal with the drink that is rumored to bring one true love!
Mac is visiting to find out about his birth family. When he arrives he finds out that is grandfather has passed away. He is given the opportunity to clean out his house and uses that as a way to learn about his history.
Eva and Mac are drawn to each other and Eva is determined to not fall for the legend of the drink. She hasn’t seen it work for anybody in her family so she isn’t willing to let it draw her to Mac!
What a wonderful story. As a person who was adopted, I understand Mac's desire to find out about his birth family. Eva doesn't believe in true love. She has built a wall around her heart. I would love to find a place like Cinnamon Bay to live.
What's not to love about this collaboration. Small town, the hens, legends and love. All things that would make you want to read it put together with just the right blend to bring about a fun, enticing read with just the right amount of angst, inner dialogue, and of course demons/issues/baggage. Yup these two have it in spade from guilt over the desire to know his family history, her over being left by people who love you these two are a collective mess. Thank God for "The Hens" cos they are truly the force that brought these two together and sealed it. You'll love them they add hilarity and a good dose of crazy to a fun story even with it's harsh realities of life. I love these small town reads, not that I personally would ever do it but the reads are definitely worth it and so they say is the coffee.
This is book one in the “Cinnamon Bay Romance” stand-alone series. This is Eva and Mac’s beautiful story.
First of all I want to say that it is crazy that this book has so many authors because never once did I feel the wording or the story alter. I would never guess more then one author wrote this book. So big props to you ladies!!
This book is a small town romance. I loved every single character in this book! I am super excited to see other stories from Cinnamon Bay. This is a perfect quick weekend read to give you just the right amount of feels.
Love on the Boardwalk gives you beauty, heart break, hope, humor, secrets, sexual tension and so much more. Oh and as of today it is FREE to download!!
I really enjoyed this kick off book for Cinnamon Bay series. Eva inherited her grandma's coffee shop but wanted to make some changes starting with taking the drink that people think is a love potion off the menu. She doesn't believe in true love and doesn't want anything to do with it until Mac comes a long. Mac is searching for answers about why his grandfather kept him a secret and have him up for adoption. These two have their ups and downs but they belong together. I loved all aspects of this book and really look forward to more loved coming together in Cinnamon Bay!
A small town story based around a coffee shop. A lovely romance and the three old ladies made me giggle. An easy summer read. Looking forward to the next one in the series
