The stakes are higher than ever for Tor

With a few Dragons and new allies to help him on his quest to defeat Everten and the Golem army, Tor has to make the hardest decision of his life.
To fight this battle that isn't his own, or to run and not look back
It seems as though trouble always seems to follow him wherever he goes. But Tor has grown so much as a character, and he has become the leader and hero he doesn't think he is.

Will Tor and Sabarook be able to save themselves and many innocents from the Golem army ?

If you haven't started this series, I'm telling you, you really must! You'll love it and it will be worth:)

Received a copy from the author herself for an honest review, thank you!

I wasn't a total fan of this series, but with this book, I pledge myself as such. This story brought tension, anxiety, and emotions to a completely new level and you know what - I loved it and I can't wait to dig into the next book as soon as I can.

“There’s a moment in every person’s life when they have to climb that mountain of fear and go over it”.
SETTING: On the run from the flying golems and the Gold Dragon, with Katlana (a Magika) as their captive, Tor and Saboraak have been joined by a group of Green Dragons & their riders. They are seeking to arrive at Estabis, for their own safety, and to warn Estabis, before the golems can destroy yet another sky city.
In the midst of all this, the dragons begin a bizarre mating routine, which, it is said, can not be interrupted. This brings their flight briefly to a halt, allowing both riders and dragons some much needed rest from flying. This situation provides a bit of interesting juxtaposition: Tor and Zyla having been doing their dance practically since meeting; the male dragons “display” (as do some males of other species), only now it is an entire cohort of Greens seeking Saboraak’s attention and approval. One thing clearly results from this: the Greens and their riders start to become tightly knit with Tor & Saboraak, beginning to form a cohesive unit, which will be greatly needed in coming days.
Now, our friends face a battle that will likely be fought to the death—just whose remains to be seen. They hope to save the city, or at least a good portion of it, and Tor’s heart is reminded of the destruction of his home city and the severe hardships he, and many others, faced afterwards. This remembrance helps to strengthen his resolve to fight in behalf of this city. As the attack begins, and the first dragon falls in death right at their feet, Tor attempts to embolden Saboraak with these words than have the ring of truth and pertain to all of us:
“There’s a moment in every person’s life when they have to climb that mountain of fear and go over it whether they like it or not. It’s that or die.......This is one of those times, Saboraak. I’ll be here with you.”
Just how Tor, Saboraak and the cohort will accomplish “climbing that mountain” and whether they will be successful in overcoming their enemies, remains to be seen.

CRITIQUE: Readers who have already started the series will devour this book. The storyline(s) are moving and a new one is added—Saboraak & her mate & cohort! What an original, and playful, set up —right in the middle of the action! It is probably best NOT to start the series here, but rather begin...at the beginning! But, if not possible, then jump in now and THEN go back to catch up, as you will not want to miss this series. It is clean, up-building, and sets wonderful examples for us all in selflessness, a rare commodity in today’s selfish world.

I adore Sarah K. L. Wilson’s Dragon books, whether in her original amazing Dragon School series or the offshoot Dragon Chameleon series. In Creeping Darkness we hit on the 9th book in the latter series, and Tor and Saboraak (the eponymous Dragon Chameleon) have their work cut out for them. A magic powered metal Golem, flying golems - a Golem army - is no measly threat, and Tor will need to make some very tough decisions. Don’t worry though as this is all handled perfectly in this thoroughly well written and exciting installment. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

A dark episode

Saboraak plays a different kind of role in this book. You go girl! And it’s making Tor cranky LOL.

But this wasn’t my favorite episode in this series. It was still really really good, but for my taste there was too much fighting, ripping, shredding, death. Maybe I let the darkness creep inside me too much. Such a hopeless situation. War is not my favorite subject to read about. But like I said, the quality of the writing was once again really high, and I continue being impressed.

The 9th in the Dragon Chameleon Series, Creeping Darkness is a great addition. We continue to see Tor grow as a man and hero. With Katlana as their prisoner, Tor and his friends are winging their way to Estabis to warn them of what is coming, golems, and lots of them. Will they be able to stop them from destroying the city? And on top of that, Saboraak decides to choose a mate. This is a little darker than previous parts though there are still bits of humor. Can't wait to read the next.
Received a free ARC from the author for an honest review. I honestly love this series.

The leader of the greens, Tachril, picks a rather inconvenient time to court Saboraak. Tor learns that the courtship means he is going to have to help Saboraak to build a 'Dragon City' but first he has to deliver his prisoner to the High Castelan of the nearby sky city.
Only, when he gets there she is treated more like a guest than a prisoner.
And there's all those pesky golems to deal with.....looks like the dragon city may have to wait a while.

This is a great continuation of the story. Tor and Zyla, along with the wing of green dragons they had met on the way to the fallen city, were on there way to warn the next sky city of the coming of the golems. On the way they are delayed by the strange thing that happened between Saboraak and the wing of green dragons. They needed to get to the Estabis before the golems, otherwise that city would also fall.

Dragon Chameleon: Creeping Darkness is book nine in this wonderful series. Tor and Saboraak, along with a wing of Greens are on a mission to warn of the impending doom that is coming. A wonderful interlude provides a lighter touch and highlights the brilliance of Sarah K L Wilson's writing. The action and intensity builds towards the end as the sky city fights for survival. A real cliffhanger ending.

A dangerous place

This book starts out action packed, and ends the very same way. I feel like our MC Tor has reached a turning point in his maturity. He is beginning to put others ahead of himself, and it makes me so happy. Their world is fast becoming a dangerous place to be, but Tor and his band of dragon riders have made a decision to fight. I can't wait to read the next in the series to see what happens to our heroes. I definitely recommend this book

Will he finally realize he is a hero?

Tor just keeps getting better and more selfless. He still doesn’t realize or believe he is what everyone needs, yet he keeps doing what needs to be done. What will he do next? Will he do what needs to be done? If you love dragons or only think them interesting you will love these books.

Wow...just WOW! And awesome!

I loved this book! I can't tell much without giving away the story...but it's good to know that dragonkind will continue. Tor is closer to having his own romance. And the war continues! Another great cliffhanger...off to read the next book! Needless to say...highly recommended.

My heart aches for Tor and Saborek! This story adds to my angst and eagerness to read the next one! These golems are getting out of hand, but with a solid plan... hopefully everything can and will work out. Fingers crossed!

Tor and his dragon Saboraak are killing it. They’re bond is amazing and often stretched thin by antics of both Tor and the evil they’re fighting against. This Series doesn’t disappoint
