im struggling with my thoughts for this collection primarily because im able to understand the pain and hurt that went through this relationship, but the collection itself has not been my favorite of the writing ive read. i think the overall message was well done, but individually, i can’t say there was a poem that spoke out to me personally.

despite my personal feelings, i do think that if you’ve ever been through a relationship with someone you shouldn’t have and felt the difficult side of hur

we didn't talk
never finding the right words
always saying the wrong thing
we loved better in the silence

poetry is something so intimate that when a writer touches your intimacy it also becomes something else... part of you.
A glance at the intimate soul and the most painful and healed corners of this poet, prove the strength of her words and how our hearts are widened by the only person who matters... ourselves.

this is a really wonderful poetry collection about a difficult and heartbreaking topic. i resonated a lot with the content and found myself thinking about my own experiences while reading this. it's a powerful thing when an author can make that happen! i am always excited to read O'Connor's work and this did not disappoint! ...more
