A beginning reader book for children that enjoy learning about specific animals, the challenges they face and overcome. This volume has three stories about three different animals that are loved and eventually thrive. My 6yo read this book at least ten times in the first week we had it.

If you follow the Dodo online, you'll be familiar with the uplifting, inspirational, and often funny stories about animals and the people who go to any lengths to show them love. This new Scholastic reader series put some of those stories on the page for young readers. In the first volume, "Little But Fierce," readers will meet Vera the French Bulldog, Cody the alpaca, and Karamel the squirrel and see how they bravely overcome life's challenges. This is a level 2 reader, with longer sentences and a more advanced vocabulary, along with a glossary for new words. Vivid photo graphs accompany these short and sweet stories about animals overcoming the odds.
