Cute. A totally rom-com chick lit thing. Which... well, I don't know why I keep reading in this genre. It gets old real quick. But, I think most people would really like this because the banter is witty.

Yes, almost this good.

So, we have the girl from the last book, Ember, who was happily married with a kid. Until, the husband decides to leave her. For reasons. She is stuck living in a big city that she hates because of custody stuff and does transcription for money. She's depressed. To amuse her

Seriously. I mean, SERIOUSLY. Y'all! This banter was EVERYTHING.

Just My Type by Tara Sivec

Romantic Comedy. Standalone follow up to The Simple Life
First 5+++ Star read of 2019

*Skip to the down & dirty for a mini review*

I didn’t know I loved romantic comedy until I read Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec in 2012 and became a creepy stalker. Since then I have read hundreds of romcoms, but Just My Type reminded me yet again why Tara Sivec is the QUEEN OF ROMANTIC COMEDY. My favorite thing to read in books is e-mail or text banter, and kids

This reminded me of why I enjoy Tara Sivec so much. Funniest e-mail exchanges evah! And I'll never look at pinkie swears quite the same way.

Just My Type is JUST my kind of book! Tara Sivec writes some of my favorite romantic comedies (i.e. Seduction and Snacks) so knowing this was going to be another romcom had me super excited! Well, this one did NOT disappoint! I can't remember the last time I laughed this hard. From the names of the chapters to the banter between Ember and Baker, this book had me giggling the whole way through! This is classic Tara Si
The Perfect Romantic Comedy of the year!

Sometimes, I can feel in my guts when a book is really good. It was like a bullseye. I laughed in every single chapter. At some point I felt a silly smile drawed in my face. I couldn't helped. This story should be seriously considered to be a movie. It is that good!

Tara's writting is amazing and naturally flawless and fun. She is hilarious! Her experience as a writer is remarkable. And I can't wait to read all of her books. That means I have a new favorit
4+ "Pizza with a porn star." Stars!

This book is laugh out loud funny! Granted a lot of the humor is what mostly teenage boys find funny; but I have two of those so I'm ok with it.

The romance was sweet too. Baker stole my heart. So did Lincoln, Ember's little boy. All in all a very funny and sweet story. Happy reading!
Just My Type exceeded my expectations...

After reading The Simple Life, I found myself a little uncertain as to whether I wanted to read/listen to Just My Type. I met Ember when she appears to be happily married to her Pharmacist hubby. Ember was living exactly where she wanted to live, working exactly where she wanted to work and bringing her son up surrounded by love ones. So, imagine my surprise when I read the blurb for Just My Type. I guess the image portrayed wasn't exactly what I thought i

This is second in a series, but there's not a lot of overlap, really. I mean, Ember talks with her brother and friend semi-frequently in this one but Sivec gives enough context that nothing is really enhanced just for having read the first book.

There's a thing that authors sometimes do with their female leads and divorce that drives me up a wall and this is a prime example. Ember let herself be railroaded in her divorce, letting her ex file all the papers and came away with literally nothing but

Overall Opinion: This was disappointing. I like stories that start out with the mcs communicating through text/email/letter, so I thought this sounded fun! Sadly, it felt like the humor was way too forced. I did laugh a few times but mostly it just felt ridiculous. The H was likable but I didn’t feel like we really got to know him. I also thought that the ending was too rushed and didn’t give nearly enough closure to answer all the questions I had in the end. I’m surprised I lasted thr

As always, Ms Sivec is my go to feel good author. The laugh out loud, have people give you concerned side glances author.

She delivers again with Ember and Baker and the rest of her zany characters.

A few hours? Yep...I couldn't put this down for more than a few seconds and found myself pissed off that my bathroom wasn't on the same floor I was reading.

I absolutely LOVED Baker and the banter between him and Ember!
First, THANK YOU, Tara Sivec, I had a really rough week. Phew!
I listened to the audio. I'm so smart to pick this one at this time. What a freakin' crack up.
The heroine, Ember has a sarcastic potty mouth times a million. She gets dumped by her husband, just after he moves them from Montana to Chicago.
Ember and her ex (Brandon) share custody of their son Lincoln. She throws a fit (naturally), gets sad, mad and down in the dumps. The story picks up around 18 months later-after she's divorced.

First I always adored Tara Sivec's sense of humor. I dig it 100%, and here she delivered brilliantly. I couldn't contain my giggles, I laughed so hard.

Second she gets extra points for making this one unique for me - the type of meeting - that was the first one, and it was so fresh to read it. Also so damn cute, and funny.

And third, this was just such a sweet, and funny love story. I swooned for Baker so hard, he just placed in the top three of my book boyfriends. His amazing h

“As soon as our eyes locked back at Starbucks, I knew it was him. I don’t know how. I just felt it. Which sounds stupid as shit when I say it in my head. But God, the way he looked at me. Like he recognized me instantly, appreciated what he saw, and would chew off the arm of any man who tried to talk to me. It was possessive and hot. Something that should have had me running in the opposite direction, considering it was coming from some guy whose last name I didn’t even know, who I met on-line. ...more

What is a book to you if it's not fun? I mean really. Just My Type was truly entertaining and fun on every page. Ember and Baker go shot for shot in wit and banter, in true Tara Sivec style. This one had me laughing out loud more often and not and it was a joy to read!

I was entertained by this book. The beginning was so funny. Emver transcribes audio voice memos for clients. There was a glitch with the transcribing software and her personal notes were sent to the client along with the transcription and her email info when all her info should've been kept confidential. Suffice to say the client, Baker, started communicating to Ember via email and also continues to send her other voice memos to transcribes and communicates to her through those memos as wel
Ahmahgah I had such a great time reading this! I’ve got some serious heart eyes for Baker. I was totally that wife who kept shoving the iPad into my husbands face and said read this funny part. And this one. No wait, this email is the best one ever!! I don’t think he truly appreciated my enthusiasm for this book, but whatever. He did keep asking why I was laughing all the time so of course I had to show him! The banter and chemistry between Baker and Ember is ah-mazing. I laughed out loud throug ...more

This book was amazing. I bought it as soon as it was released because the teasers were addictive. I couldn't wait to read it. But life got in the way and it got buried on my kindle and it sat there for months.

I just came off of a couple really good books, and an extremely beloved reread and I didn't know what to read next. I'm also in the process of a transfer at work, and while it will be a good thing, it's also bitter sweet because I love where I currently am and all the people I work with. S

Ummm... hello? Is anyone there? This book. I just don't know what to say. It's most definitely another winner from Sivec. I am not sure what to say that I haven't said before.

The banter between these characters is life! I laughed so hard every single time. They are snarky, confident, entertaining. A troop of kick-butt characters who entertained me from start to finish.

As in the past, Sivec leaves us with reader's blue balls. Dragging out the inevitable until the reader is ready to combust from t

Some books were just made for the audio experience. While I listen to them, I think how happy I am to be experiencing it through the narrators rather than from the written pages. JUST MY TYPE was absolutely one of those books. From the perfect casting to the fantastic story itself, this was simply audiobook perfection!

Oooh Tara Sivec is a freaking genius. A romantic comedy that has you cackling with laughter until your sides hurt and you feel like your about to pass out AND steamy scenes that don’t make you cringe or feel like you’re being watched under a hot lamp by the secret service every time You read them!

I normally hate reading the second book in romance, because it’s nearly always about a secondary character in the first book who really didn’t come across as fun or was the guy/girl no one really ever l
