Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, and no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I own the whole series individually.
Bearista - Book 1 I loved this book because she is a single mom who works her butt off for her family, and she wins all around in the end with her happily ever after. Her son is adorable, and he is included in the HEA! She is fierce when it comes to the people she cares about, and she won’t leave anyone behind. Derek is pretty awesome, and I love how automatically her family is now his. It is definitely a sexy quality in a man! He is just as fierce and protects what is his.
Zoe Chant is amazing at writing action packed HEAs that leave you so happy to have read them! I can’t wait to read the next one!
Pet Rescue Panther - Book 2 This is the 2nd book in the series, and it is not necessary to read in order though who can pass up any book by Zoe!! This is for adults only due to the steamy content.
Tessa is a cat girl after my own heart! I love her animal magnetism. She is pretty fierce. Ben is amazing and love how he helps Tessa with the kittens. He is fierce in protecting her even when she was leery to believe she needed it. As always Zoe has brought us an action packed story filled with danger and mystery mixed with purring delights!
Bear in a Bookshop - Book 3 This is the 3rd book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the violence and steamy content. While not required, I highly recommend reading the whole series in order because the world and characters are just so much more together!
This story made me cry because Gunnar really is amazing, and Melody judged him sometimes like people do based on a fact or two but mostly against what she thought her ideal was. Gunnar holds a place dear in my heart because he is dyslexic and people don’t understand when you are trying to learn how hard it can be to remember words, spelling, reading, and it overwhelms some of the hardest workers to the point they give up on trying or start thinking they aren’t smart enough. As a teacher this breaks my heart and as a mom it is worse when you can’t make it better. Gunnar has made some bad choices, and even when he didn’t do anything wrong, he pushes through. I think both Melody and Gunnar save each other in many ways. I loved this story for all of these reasons and more! Also don’t anger a dragon because it just doesn’t end well!
Day Care Dragon - Book 4 This is the 4th book in this series. I highly recommend reading them all, and if you don’t like past events being mentioned when you don’t know what they are talking about, you should read them in order. I love when the characters I love are back in the another book. This is for adults only due to the steamy content and battles.
This book was action-packed, humorous, and just awesome. My favorite line is when Darius asks why everyone keeps asking him that, but you have to read it to see what I mean. So much fun to read, and it was packed with all sorts of drama, intrigue, and back story that you fall in love with Darius and let go of past impressions of him being a jerk to Ben.
I highly recommend this book and any Zoe Chant book to shifter lovers who love a perfect blend of action, romance, and HEAs! Zoe nails the combination every time!
Bearista Gaby is a single mom who's in the wrong place at the wrong time. She's an eye-witness to a robbery, where one of the criminals shifts into an actual polar bear known as Ghost. When Det. Keegan decides she needs shifter protection. In walks Derek ... tatted Grizzly, who looks extremely intimating to everyone ... except his mate. Gaby is not walking out of her job. She needs to provide for her family, and Derek just needs to adapt how he protects her. It's super sweet watching Derek do what he can to protect her as she wishes, until she realizes how that's not going to work. After heading to Keegan's cabin in the middle of no where. Their relationship flourishes, as the danger creeps closer. Working together, they're able to capture the Ghost in the end.
Pet Rescue Panther,/i> Tessa is a cat-loving animal shelter employee, who has been dragon marked. Her best friend Melody (unbeknownst to her) happens to be a dragon, and has enlisted her half-brother . via their father . help in protecting Tessa. Ben is a major cat magnet, and is doing his best to protect Tessa, while trying to figure out WHY she's been marked. I loved Tessa's interactions with Ben's father Darius. Best parts of the book in my opinion.
Bear in a Bookshop This one was sweet. Ghost has escaped prison, so Ben breaks out his brother Gunnar to help recapture the fugitive & protect his friends and family. Tessa convinces Melody to stay with everyone at the farmhouse until Ghost is no longer a threat. At first glance, Gunnar & Melody both realize their mates, but Gunnar doesn't feel worthy of her, and Melody wants a choice in the matter. There's drama, and Melody's choices almost kill her ... but they find a way to make it work in the end.
Day Care Dragon Darius has lived a long time, and loneliness is starting to catch up to him. He's tried (and failed) at two non-mate relationships. So, it's completely gobsmacked when he rescues his mate from a burning building.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Bearista: This was a very meet-cute story with just enough action to keep the plot moving and interesting. I did find Gaby’s sudden shift to acceptance a bit abrupt but I suppose it’s meant to be a shock moment of clarity. Derek was adorable with her son from the beginning. Loved her mum too though I can see Gaby’s point about living together.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pet Rescue Panther: Tessa (cat shelter employee) and Ben (cop panther shifter with dragon ancestry) are a cute couple. The way he capitulates to her with the cats is funny. And the Kitten/panther interaction is adorable. They meet when Ben comes to protect her from a dragon assassin. Similarly to the last book, there’s enough action to keep the plot moving. I didn’t feel like the MCs had much chemistry or banter which is a shame.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Bear in a bookstore: Melody (dragon and bookstore owner) and Gunnar (polar bear and ex-con) are cute together. At first I was annoyed with her for immediately judging him without knowing him to the point of finding out if there’s a way to break a mate bond. But then she got to know him and pulled her head out enough to see that he’s nothing like his brother (guy who attacked Derek and Gaby in book one). I love how Darius is changing through these books and is becoming less of a total ass. The dyslexia representation was nice to see.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Daycare Dragon: Darius and Loretta are a great pair that complement each other well. It was nice to see Darius’ facade break down and see the real him. He’s a good guy under it all. Once he realized the heart of his dragon trove was the people in his life that was it. He was all in. I hope Harkein is still around from time to time in future books.
Zoe Chant's box set Bodyguard Shifters Collection 1, proves why she is my one of my favorite paranormal romance writers! The world she has built that includes bears, Panthers and Dragon Shifters, is so real you feel you have been transported to this special part of Colorado. The hot alpha males she writes of make you long for a man just like them for your very own! And I especially love that her female characters are not the usual damsels in distress who require bodyguards, but strong independent women, who can put even a grizzly bear shifter in his place if needed! There is lots of really steamy sex but it is not the main focus of the novels. No it is the action and suspense, that keeps you glued to Zoe Chant's work! Her stories are riveting and original. As with every novel I have read of hers, Bodyguard Shifters, is entertaining as well as a wonderful interlude in a busy hectic existence. Pick up this set on Kindle Unlimited and escape into a shifter world full of love, romance and a spice of good vs. evil action!
Darius and Loretta’s Home and Family Love! 3.25***** Spoiler Alert
It took the strange compulsion to rescue his , once again, financially strapped mate, Loretta from his dilapidated burning apartment building for 200+ year old Darius Keegan, Dragon clan lord, to realize his hoard, was not the huge mansion and village he rebuilt but the village people/employees, his panther son Ben, Tessa, Skye shifting baby dragon, and Melody. This realization arrived after Sharpe gargoyle out from an old revenge/ vendetta destroyed them all. One would have thought that 200 years of wisdom would have rectified this misconception of what/who his hoard was. Yes he and Loretta along with Toberlone were a HEA as he reconciled with Ben. Confusing plot, and anti-climatic ending with a 180 degree flip in Darius's personality. Not sure why Maddox left, and how Sharpe's power diminished unless it was following Newton's Gravitational Laws?!? The stories of Ben and Gaby plus Melody and Gunnar, and Tessa and Ben were far more interesting than this final one in this collection. Read the other three.

Truly enjoyed this book set. Loved the 2nd and 4th stories the best. Lovely stories all around but I have a weakness for Dragons. I lurrrrvvvveee them, Lol. In Day Care Dragon, we get to see a side of Darius that was buried. Darius was a true dragon and was confused as only a dragon could be that his mate didn't want to be dressed in jewels, Lol. His mate, Loretta bought out the best in him and in turn gave him, everlasting love. Enjoyed the villain and action in this story. A great read! 4 solid stars
An amazing box set of shifters, Handsome men beautiful women, and adorable kittens
Each is a stand alone but save time, just get the set, ,cause you'll want the whole series, Each book has the required fated mate, lots of humor, misunderstandings, and danger. All mixed together as only this author, can do. You'll smile or laugh at how a simple thing, can explode into hurt feelings or how Alpha men and women discover, not everyone follows orders blindly, or even listens, and may have their own ideas. A totally enjoyable series.
Really enjoyed reading these books. They are a progressive story, but separate. You'll understand when you've read them, and if you like Zoe Chant , or not read her but like shifters, you will lurv these, especially book 4 which each time I thought it was finished went on some more, brilliant. The best part, there's a book 4 & 5, which just happens to be waiting for me, yeah me xxx Sue P
I enjoyed these, I really did. Nothing too complicated or heavy, but really great (and I do mean this in the best way!) mindless reads. They don't tax your brain, just what you need after an intense book.
These sorts of books are my go-to books for hangover cures (both book and alcohol induced!)
4 books here, but there are 2 others, and when I've cleared my Unlimited list, I'll read them too.
Bodyguard Shifters Collection 1 contains the first four books in this amazing series. All are connected and this is a brilliant way to read them. These are my first Zoe Chant books and I was hooked from the very first page of book one. I couldn't put it down and have already brought more. These are probably the best shifter books I have read and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Definitely worth 5*
I really enjoyed this set. Zoe Chant created an interesting and fun universe that draws you in. I think my favourite books in this set were about Gunnar and Melody, and Darius and Loretta. The only thing that is slightly irritating is that there are inconsistencies about shifter qualities from other books. In some of the other books, shifters and their mates can communicate mind to mind. Also the other shifters can communicate together if they are the same species.
Book 1 was fun and had very likable characters. Book 2 - I liked the main characters, but the plot made no sense and wasn’t explained until the last chapter. Book 3 was thoroughly enjoyable. Book 4 had the best character development and lots of action. I all of the books I appreciate that characters with less than perfect backgrounds were treated as who they were instead of what they had done in their pasts.
I love Zoes sense of adventure with this series. I'm very glad I bought all of them at once as I am a very fast reader. When I get off of work (I'm a nurse) I can burry myself in Zoes magical world of love, shifters, romance and strong family ties. Thank you Zoe! Keep em coming!! 😁😄
Many of us try to bury our hurt and pain. The problem with that is, sometimes it gives the pain an opportunity to grow. It can end up suffocating us eventually. Find someone you can talk with, hopefully someone to love. Then you can be victorious. Thank you for Kindle Unlimited.
As a adolescent this shifter list everything. His family was killed and he was left alone still alone 200 years later with two grown children he seldom sees this group of stories begins. As each member finds their mate and has to survive things they were not sure even existed. Jared to put down, fun to read.
I loved this series of stories. There were no typos that I caught which can be a problem for me. I liked the way the stories flowed from one to the other. I think you will enjoy them as well. Follow friends and family and watch a father learn what is important.
For light, entertaining reading, Zoe Chant creates characters with the skill of authors that write elaborate, lengthy, 'literary ' novels. I think that ' Bear in a Bookshop' was one of the best written novels that I have read this year. So glad I found this author.
So glad author wrote this story of old torn history, cultural differences and misunderstandings. I loved the main characters especially the fact the heroine loved her job even though it did not pay much. Eagerly awaiting the next book. Hope that the gargoyles get series.
I can’t get enough of Zoe Chant’s shifter romances. I try to get my hands on as many as I can. The stories always draw me in. I love the character building - especially as they develop throughout a series. There is great story development and pacing. I’m never disappointed. I want to read more - learn about the mates of every character that is introduced in the book.
Each one of the books in this series, was exceptionally satisfying. Well written and well developed characters. This writer has a true gift of storytelling, leaving the reader content and wanting more. I read this series straight through and this is definitely going in my "to re-read" collection.. Well done a wonderful read.
Always enjoy any of the Zoe’s books, but this collection is one of my favorites. How can you go wrong with a dragon who hordes books and understands the comfort and belonging one can find within the covers of a beloved book. Or at litter of bat-winged kittens and the amusing mayhem they can create. Delightful tales to light ones spirits.
Loved this series of books so glad they are all connected and so well written each storyline flowed from the first book to the last with great characters and the chemistry between them was suited for each couple and their story really made it so much more interesting and enjoyable for the reader to fall in love with.
Zoe Chant does an amazing job at sucking you into the story. I feel like I am watching it instead of reading it. I haven’t found one book I didn’t like. Loved them all. Was really glad to Darius come around and find love and understand what living really is ❤️
These were outstanding books Great flow from one to the other There was a rich and wonderful bunch of characters that became friends as they went from one book to the other
I enjoyed this collection so much! I’m addicted to shifter books and this collection is as good as any I’ve read! Dragons, bears, a panther and an unexpected enemy. I’m now reading book 4 and I’m already hooked.
Each of these books is good, hard to pick a favorite. They feature the same characters but a different couple. They built up to the final book, the father of two characters and how he learned what’s important in life.
Love the way you write! The stories are always great! A bit intense, a bit steamy, a LOT of Great characters, action and emotion! Thank you for your time, talent and THE STORIES!
Tight, exciting and dangerous stories each with a separate and yet entwined theme. Interesting characters and strong friendships form a foundation for a romantic adventure.
