Oh, Son, I can feel your heartbeat when I’m lying in my bed, too many memories going around in my head. I can see you in my dreams, holding me, protecting me, “Don’t you talk to her like that. Leave her the hell alone.” You would text me every day, “I love you, Momma, it’s going to be alright.”

Heartache, Sorrow, and Resolve

In the genre of Memoirs/Teen & Young Adult Biography, this book resonates with the grief of losing a son unexpectedly at the age of 37. Told from his mother’s point of view, her heartache and sorrow fill every page.

Honesty, candidness, and authenticity also fill every page, painting a realistic picture of family dynamics during Rudy’s childhood. She writes about respecting how a husband and wife handle grief differently in their own way. There are even a couple

My Beloved Son by Martha Perez is a mother’s memoir of a son who left the world too soon.

Rudy Andalon is survived by his mother Martha, father Sal and sister Patricia.

What would any parent go through if their child or adult child had something happen and just like that they were gone?

It’s impossible and quite unthinkable to imagine. This remembrance of a young, vibrant man named Rudy is offered in snippets of past and present memory and moments of grief. The shock factor of what happened

First, I want to send my condolences to Martha and her family. From one mom to another... loosing a child is the hardest thing anyone could go through. My heart broke and found myself wiping the tears away. I was so heartbroken reading her yearning for her son Rudy and the love that she talks about only parents will understand. I recommend this book to anyone who has lost a child or not. It holds many good treasures full of memories about Martha's beloved son, Rudy

I purchased and read this book after seeing a post about it from the author on Facebook. In “My Beloved Son”, the author shares memories of times together with her departed so, assorted family photos, poetry and more. In one chapter, the author describes the moment she arrived at the hospital only to hear that her son was already gone, and I quietly died a little inside as I sobbed aloud reading this heart-wrenching scene.

While how we as humans mourn might be individualistic, grief

Heartbreaking :(

First of all i am so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine what you went thru. I thought i had it bad when i almost lost my daughter to a domestic violence crime where she almost lost her life. This book brought back a lot of memories of that experience, but also made me realize that i should appreciate my kids more. Ms. Perez you are definitely a very strong women and an even stronger mother. Thank you for sharing that part of your life which I'm sure has been very difficult.
