Wolf Creek Shifters #3

Claimed by Magic

Rate this book
She’s a lone wolf with a death sentence…

Sick of stuffy Alphas telling her what to do and how to live her life, Fallon is determined to make it on her own. The day her brother abandoned her, leaving her behind with their abusive father, was the day she learned never to rely on anyone.

Not even a warlock.

Aidan is marked to be the next leader of the Witch coven…

The coven’s strict rules prohibit him from warning Fallon against her deadly fate, yet no matter how hard Aidan tries to turn away from her, he can’t.

It doesn’t matter what the rules are between warlocks and other supernatural beings. He simply can’t stand around and do nothing while death slowly closes in on her. But Fallon refuses to believe him, which makes it so much harder for Aidan to keep her safe.

What they don’t know is that the threat on Fallon’s life goes far beyond her fate alone…

The fate of the entire Wolf Creek pack hangs in the balance.

H.R. Savage

Author H.R. Savage started reading romance at an age that made her father cringe as she tried to hide the cover behind her hands. She technically finished writing her first book in Junior High, where it mysteriously disappeared in a reformatting incident. Due to the encouragement of her English teachers at her small town school in La Verne, California, she never lost her love for the art. Now a woman who swears by the power of coffee, Chinese food, and wine (not necessarily in that order), she decided it was time to create stories from the characters in her head.

When she isn’t writing, outlining, or pinning pictures of hot ‘character inspirations’ on Pinterest™, she is spending time with her three beautiful children and handsome husband.

When warlock Aidan has a vision that Fallon - the beautiful shifter he briefly met is going to meet a untimely death, he knows he should stay away, and not get involved, but he simply cannot. As Aidan and Fallon, search for the threat to her they come across a so called ‘rebellion’ that could change the landscape of the paranormal and human world. Add to that betrayal is just around the corner and they have a rather busy time ahead.

This was an ok read, and at the start some of the interactions between Fallon and Aidan had me smiling, but I don’t know the story lacked a certain oomph and whilst there was clearly something between the main characters the chemistry between them didn’t sizzle off the page.
The idea that witches/warlocks give off an off-putting odour whenever using magic had me wrinkling my nose a fair bit – I’d love magical powers but reeking when using magic would take the fun out of it!

Duval was one secondary character that I was disgusted by from the get go – he’s

This book is a part of a series, but it can easily be read as a standalone.

Acquired via KU, it was an easy one time read.

A captivating story filled with exciting twists and turns and characters I couldn’t get enough of. My first book from Savage certainly won’t be my last!

When I started this, I quickly realized it wasn’t the first in the series but I didn’t feel lost or confused. I’ll definitely be going back to read the other stories in the series but it wasn’t necessary for my enjoyment of this one.

The world that Savage has created is layered and mesmerizing. I loved the shifter and warlock combination with Fallon and Aidan. Both so different, yet strong and driven, they fit together somehow. Then add in the mystery and action and I was hooked.

There’s a potential for a few other characters that are set up in this story and I’m eager to see how they play out. I have a feeling that some of them are going to surprise us.

This states it can be read as a standalone, which is how I approached it. No problem following but I can say with certainty had I read the series starting from the first release I would have been even more enraptured with the cast.

Aidan has protected Killian's family before. He is a Warlock, a Seer. His visions are a blessing and a curse. Some good, some bad. Even if he can he is not to interfere with the futures of other species without previous approval. When a vision involves the sexy and mouthy Fallon, Aidan approaches his superior (he has a fancy title ) Duval requesting permission to assist. Permission denied! (Really disliked Duval) Unlike the rest of the magical society, Aidan can't turn his back just because they are not witches.
Will he risk punishment to save a shifter? Can he save her?
I really really liked Aidan. He was quirky in a confident, sexy way. He was vocal in his thoughts though he did attempt to tread carefully so an not to offend, not that he was always successful. He did what he knew was right even if he stood alone.
Fallon I truly had trouble with. She is a sniveling self-absorbed brat. Everything was about her - Her freedom- Her life - Her feelings- I would have dumped Her arse in the snow and left her! Yeah, she had her good points but she was so wrapped up in possible slights against her femininity that at times she was a danger to those trying to help her unappreciative arse!
Felicity and Oliver are on my faves list for supporting characters along with Luke and Cat.
The world building was well done, even had a few twists to the paranormal (like Aidan's scent when he cast).
I enjoy the more detailed and full-length paranormal reads and Savage delivers with Claimed by magic.
Full of action and suspense with an edge to the unknown that keeps the reader engaged. The relationship between our H/h was intense - Aggravating and perfect. It fit their characters to a tee.
Wait till you find out the why behind the vision?
I am going to suggest this be read in order with the series. Especially if Paranormal is your normal genre.
This series checks all my must have boxes - complex world building with solid plotlines and a vivid and creative cast of characters that you will love or loathe.

First book from this author and I loved it!!! Action, magic, suspense and love all rolled into on book!

I do suggest reading the previous books in this series. I haven’t but will be doing so immediately! It didn’t make reading this book difficult having not read them but it would have been nice to know some of the background of what this story was about.

Great book!

Aidan's eyes shot open he’d scene the woman with the gold eyes who had been lying on concrete with a lot of blood-dead. The screams still ran through his mind. The negative of having the leir, or second sight was having to see such horrific things or events. The happy ones Aidan could handle. The awful ones disgusted him because usually there was nothing he could do about it. Four hours had passed while he had been meditating. The one thing that rocked him is he recognized her eye. They’de joked back and forth six months ago. She was going to die, Killians sister was going to be murdered. Killian wasn’t fond of Aidan as it was, if he found out Aidan knew his sister was going to be killed …. Aidan wasn’t to worried about the Alpha-Killian- since the Alpha couldn’t do much against Aidan. Warlocks tended to be stronger than Alpha shifter. Aidan wondered if he could live with himself if he allowed this to happen. Witches didn’t delve into the matters of other paranormal but watched from the outside. On the opposite side of his room there was a wall of falling water. It was enchanted by the Visage. Witches who specialized in their ability with water. Aidan readied himself . This was not going to be a fun conversation. He muttered a spell under his breath and a faint blue sheen fogged over the water. “Duval” and Aidan waited for an answer to his call. Than the water and fog stilled and than iced over. A face appeared -Dival.-the Ceann of Aidan’s coven. He told Dival his vision had been bad. That was what Aidan wanted to talk about. Dival said he had to let it be. But Aidan added he knew her. When Aidan said she was a shifter Dival said absolutely not. Dival said he had seen things. Things he can’t explain to him . It’s the curse of the Leir. Dival had saved him when he was nine. Than dival said it was a direct order not to interfere and left the water and it once again flowed. Aidan could get in a lot of trouble if he tried to help the shifter. Was a shared smile justify him going to prison? Fallan the shifter of Aidan’s vision was working at the bar- The Library. The Library wasn’t like other bars. It was on the quiet side of things. Fallon recognized the smell and eyes of Aidan when he showed up at the bar where she worked. He said he would show her the difference between a witch and a warlock. But Fallan shot him down. She got him the beer on tap he ordered. Than Luke came up to the bar and ordered a drink Luke was a nice guy and Fallen liked him. Luke made her life which wasn’t easy. He said other shifters noticed the witch there and he wasn’t sure their amnesty goes as far as to allow witches there. Fallen said she didn’t think he’d be a problem. Having a warlock among them would unsettle the local packs. Luke said he’d pass it around Aidan wasn’t a permanent resident. Fallon had quit school so her parents had stopped sending her money to help with rent so she really needed this job. That night her boss ben said he had to let her go by Christmas as the bar had slowed down, so he had to make some cuts. Fallon said she understood and she’d be okay. Fallen was outside Fallon's apartment building he told her he had a vision of her murder. He didn’t know who did it but he would find out. Fallan invited him in and Aidan said he was there to protect her not have sex with her. Witches and shifters were not supposed to be involved in each others worlds. Even though Aidan really wanted her. Fallon's wolf even wanted Aidan. Fallan could not think why anyone would want to kill her or why. Aidan was determined to find out who wanted to hurt/kill Fallan.
I loved this story. I loved Aidan and Fallan together. I loved the plot and pace of this book. They may be opposites but the fit each other. I loved the magic aspect of this book. Although making a warlock smell very offensive to shifters was new. I advise you to read the other books of this series first for a smoother read. I loved the plot and pace. I didn't want to put this down to see what was going to happen next. I felt this book was well written. I loved the characters and the twists and turns in this book and I highly recommend it.

Fallon Stone is a lone wolf after leaving her father's home and finding it is easier to be on your own than in a pack. Unfortunately lately she has hit a patch of very bad luck when she loses her job and then a Warlock tells her that she is danger but he doesn't know from who or what.

Aidan Wood is a Warlock that works at Lion Heart Investments under Duval, a man that has raised him like a son. Aidan has Leir, which is the ability of 2nd sight and he can tell that someone is after Fallon.

Soon Aidan realizes how much danger Fallon is in and he vows to protect her and get to the bottom of everything. Yet he also must be careful as he needs help but knows what he is doing is going against the Coven and the consequences could be deadly.

Can Aidan protect Fallon when his feelings for her increase and he must find out who is at the bottom of it all?

This is the first book I have read in this series and I really enjoyed it.

I liked Fallon's independence but as the bad luck started it just started getting worse and worse for her. I wasn't surprised that Fallon didn't take Aidan seriously at the beginning but soon she realized how truthful he was being.

Aidan was just 100% awesome and cocky. He made me laugh so many times with everything that came out of his mouth and just how much he made Fallon mad and frustrated. He really had Fallon's best interests at stake but he also wanted to protect her by keeping her hidden which made her even more mad.

I really liked the group of characters that came together to protect Fallon and work at discovering who was behind everything. I figured it out about a chapter before it was all revealed although I had some doubts right from the beginning.

There were definitely some twists with whose side a few people were on and I liked how it all played out, even if I was mad at one or two characters for some time. I was very proud of Killian for defending Fallon to their dad.

The end was super intense and I was worried but had my fingers crossed that Aidan would be able to save the day!!

Looking forward to more books in this series!

Do you believe in magic? Claimed by Magic is the third book in the Wolf Creek series. Each book follows different main characters so you are able to read them as stand alones. I suggest you read them in order though as you do get to see what those other characters are up to. This book was great. The mystery, action, and romance was just what I needed.

The plot of this story is interesting. You have a lone wolf, tired of following the rules of others. She wants to live an independent life and not rely on anyone else. Her only problem is her wolf craves pack life. Then you have a powerful warlock who has responsibilities. He has his own journey to traverse which will lead him to a decision. Which choice will he choose?

Fallon is a great character. I loved her independent ways. I feel like she is a good character for others to look up to. She is not willing to conform just because others want her to. Then you have Aidan. He is one of the best characters I have read in a while. I loved reading about him. He is strong and protective, but also has a good heart.

The heat in this book was perfect. I really enjoyed the way the author was able to include heat in between the action. I felt it was perfectly placed and did not take away from the overall story.

The writing style in this story is good. The pace of the story is steady. The story is told from dual points of view. I liked seeing the other characters and getting a bigger picture of what is going on. The only complaint I had was I felt the third person narrative was a bit much for me, but it didnt ruin the story. Just took some getting used to.

In conclusion, I loved this book. I would recommend it to others. I have already recommended the series to others. I cannot wait to see what this author does next.

Claimed by Magic

Claimed by Magic can be read as a standalone (which is what I did), but it is part of a series, and I believe you would understand the relationships between some of the characters better if you read them in order. However, I do not believe that detracted from this story at all. Fallon is a shifter who dropped out of college, was working as a bartender, and had been cut-off financially by her parents. She loses her job, won't go home because she does not want to deal with her dad. Aidan is a seer, and in one of his meditations, he sees that Fallon is about to get killed. He goes to her to warn her, but she doesn't really take him seriously. He keeps showing up, and a vampire had her down when he showed up and killed the vampire. She realizes she needs help, and they go to her brother, Killian's. Aidan has defied his coven leader by going to Fallon and getting involved, so he is risking a lot to help her. But more help is needed, so he enlists Oliver and Trinity - and wow they are some amazing characters. I had figured out who the villain was before the end, but there were still many more revelations and twist that I did not see coming. I loved so many of the supporting characters, and can't wait to read the next one, and go back and read the prior ones as well. I will definitely be reading more works by this author. I didn't think paranormal was really my genre, but I am a fan after this book. Try it, you may find something new that you enjoy reading...it had all the things I enjoy in a book - along with some magic.

This book says it can be read as a standalone, but it would help to read the others to know the supporting characters in the story.
Aidan is a Warlock who has the ability to see visions, a specialty in his coven. He spots a shifter named Fallon in danger and sets out to save her. He has met her once before through her brother, leader of a pack in Wolf Creek. Fallon has chosen not to join his pack or any other for that matter. Split from her family because of her decision, she leads a solitary life. That is until Aidan shows up and turns her world upside down. Now she is being hunted by a vampire who was given orders to take her out. She now must turn to her family and Aidan to figure who and why she is being targeted. During that time, the handsome Warlock Aidan is capturing her heart and will do whatever to keep her safe.
The book was not ruined by not reading any others in the series. I would like to know the relationship between Aidan and Fallon's brother as well as others in the pack. This just means am going back to read the previous books. I liked the story and the chemistry between Aidan and Fallon and the way the story played out. Time to go one-click the previous books in this series! I can't wait to meet the others of the Wolf Creek Shifters. Thank you H.R. Savage for introducing me to them.

Werewolf Fallon Stone has been trying to live on her own terms outside of a pack. She has contact with her brother but like all Alpha wolves he thinks the females should be protected at all costs. That's why she moved to the other end of the United states.
Adian Wood is a warlock with incredible power. He has helped the wolves before. When he has a vision that one he knows is in big trouble it's obvious he has to help no matter who says not to interfere.
There is a big movement in the supernatural community that wants to "come out" . That could cause a war others don't want. Who is on which side and what the ramifications could be is what this story is about. The visions some of our characters have will either start or stop this war.
Can our wonderful hero, who has helped the wolves in past, help again. Our very independent heroine has learnt that control is everything for her. It's where she draws her strength from. Can she give it up to find the answers they all need?
A magical, action packed story. It has disfunctional family dynamics and love at it's heart. The rescues and battles can get bloody and emotional.
This is part of a series but can be read on it's own. However I would recommend reading the series in order.
I loved it.

OK, I am admittedly late to the game. This is the last book in this series and I am so sad! I will definitely be checking out the previous books now that I'm in love with this prickly band of misfits.

We get a little refresher on how Fallon and Aidan met, at Fallon's brother's mating ceremony. It was a fleeting thing, but left an impression on them both. After that, they went their separate ways, until a vision Aidan receives indicates that she is in mortal danger. Ignoring all warnings to stay out of wolf business, he's drawn to her anyway. Fallon is independent to a fault. She's determined to live her life by her rules, even at the risk of getting herself killed.

Aidan, on the other hand, is so full of himself that he can't see the relationship developing before his eyes. He is also blind to the happenings in his own coven. There's oodles of betrayal, long buried family issues, fighting, sexy times, and pack behavior jammed into this book. The world was wonderful, and, as I said, I'm sad I missed the previous books to watch it evolve. Aidan and Fallon are unlikely allies and even less likely partners, but this book really took you on their adventure.

I really enjoyed this book!! Claimed by Magic is the third and final book in H.R. Savage's Wolf Creek Shifters series!! This is Fallon and Aiden's story!! Fallon is a wolf and Aiden is a warlock, when Aiden shows up on Fallon's doorstep explaining that he had a vision of her dying, Fallo doesn't believe him!!
There is a war coming and if they have any chance to survive it they will all have to work together!!
The visions that some of the characters have will either start or stop this war!! This book was well written with fantastic characters it is bloody, emotional full of twists, turns, action, magic, suspense, heat, chemistry and love!!
Claimed by Magic can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the first two books in the series first so that you are not lost!! I highly recommend this book you will not be disappointed!!

When Aiden has a vision he knows he should stay away from the outcome, but he can't. He can't get Fallon out of his mind and he vows to help her. As they search for the threat to her they come across something dangerous and evil.

This was a good shifter story. I liked that the warlock and the shifter were fighting their feelings for each other. They weren't meant to be together but sometimes you can deny love. There was action and angst all around. Fallon was spunky and independent. She did not want to depend on anyone but did learn that she didn't have to do it all alone. Aiden was cocky and sexy. He was determined to help Fallon but not get close.

I rated the book a 3 because the story moved slow in my opinion. It did have great characters and plot.

This was an action-packed book full of temperamental, snarky shifters and witches. I enjoyed getting to know Fallon and Aidan, as well as watching them fall in love. For most of the book, they were barely getting along, but it was obvious they were a great match.
With all the things that were referenced by the many characters, it's clear that I need to go back and read the earlier books in the series. This one worked pretty well as a standalone, but I think I would have appreciated it even more if I knew more of the backstory. As it was, I found this to be well written and very engrossing. I loved the idea of a magical world existing alongside the everyday human world, and it was great to see the supernatural characters who were willing to fight to keep both worlds safe. Great story!

Claimed by Magic: An Adult Paranormal Romance (Wolf Creek Shifters Book 3) by H.R. Savage
I was given this ebook by the author for an honest review, but I bought the audio book.
Lemme start by saying I loved the narrator and the narration of the story. Sera did a great job varying up the different characters and their voices for me during the audio listening.
Fallon and Aiden!!! I have been dying to read them. Aiden the warlock who doesn’t have a fond relationship with Killian and yet somehow manages to fall for his sister. I mean come on that is going to be an awkward family dinner. LOL
Aiden meets the beautiful Fallon at Killians wedding. He doesn’t get her name but sure has her on his mind. Long after the wedding, he wakes up from a dream to find out she will die. Now we all know he can’t interfere, or he gets into trouble but knowing it’s HER and knowing its Kilian’s sister and Killian already wants to kill him he just can’t not do anything…sooo he meddles!!! The best relationships start when people meddle!!!
Fallon was difficult at times to swallow. She kinda annoyed me with her bratty attitude but because I loved her family I looked the other way during her bratty filled tirades.
Aiden and Fallon are investigating who is after her and why. The twists of the story are great and the reason Fallon is in danger was interesting. Aiden was cocky and delicious as before while doing all he can to save Fallon from herself..lol..and the Aiden’s dream of her impending death

This is a new to me author and I have to say that the book is a little confusing to me. Maybe if I would have read the two previous books in the series I wouldn’t have been quite as lost. But this book is really well written and the characters are devolved fantastically. This story is action-packed and kept me on the edge of my seat with all of the twists and turns. This author creates a magically enchanting world of warlocks and shifters. Fallon and Aidan could not be more different. She is impetuous and reckless doing boneheaded things while he is calm, cool and collected but they just fit. Great overall story and I will be reading the first two in this series.

A fast paced, sinful, captivating paranormal romance with ALL the feels, chemistry and entertainment I could ask for!

Claimed By Magic was a real page turner guys. Smoking hot, romantic, sweet with plenty of action and a great plot that intrigued me from start to finish. This is a perfectly paced book with excellent characters and romance that both sizzled and had me melting. I didn't want to see this book end!

3.5 for me. This was my first book by this author. I feel like I really should have read the prior book. Fallon was way to headstrong and reckless. She was always doing stupid things without thinking. She was loyal to those she chose to be. Aidan was cool and calm the opposite. Too many confusing clans and witch types. Too many rules to keep up with. Maybe I will go back and start at the beginning. I recommend that you start at book 1.

I'm just going to say it....one part of this story reminded me of a popular book/movie series.
I loved Aidan! He humor, his compassion and his feelings for Fallon. Fallon frustrated me at times, not always looking at the big picture. I loved that I never guessed who the "bad" guy was. Loved seeing more of the Wolf Creek pack.

I think I would like a prequel book that gives us Kelly and Finn's story and shows the pack being formed.

Overall I enjoyed the series.

This was a quick and magical read about witches, shifters and vampires. Mystery, intrigue, action, betrayal, heartbreak that ultimately ends with an HEA is just some of the many great reasons why you will enjoy this read. Aiden and Fallon are interesting characters and the story line will keep you invested from start to finish. I would love to see more about this couple and what happens with them in the future.

I really enjoyed Aidan and Fallon's story. I know that each book in the series can be read as a standalone...but I will definitely be going back and reading the first 2 books so I can get the backstory on some of the other characters.
I enjoyed their complex relationship and found myself immersed into the world the author created. Suspense, magic, action, romance....it's all there. This is a series, and an author, that I will continue reading.

Aidan and Fallon

I must admit I really didn’t like Fallon at first. She was really a bit€h. But as she grew on me and hearing what she endured growing up (which was way way into the book by the way) I grew to like her. Aidan was just the man er warlock to tame Fallon. He was persistent and he still had to save her. This ended up being a great read.

Going into reading this book I wasn’t sure what to expect, I’ve not been one for the paranormal type books. This one however surprised me it is well written and had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. The twists and turns definitely had me gripped, I will definitely be recommending this to anyone who asks for something new to read.

There is just something about shifter books that gets me every time and this book was no exception. I was hell captivate from the beginning to the end of this story and it left me wanting more. The characters are amazing and fantastic, easy to follow and fall in love with. I really can’t complain about how well written this book was. Hats off to this author and I definitely recommend this book.

Fallon is trying to make it by herself. She doesn't want to be in a pack especially her fathers. They cut her out after she decided ro leave college. Aidan is a warlock that gets visions. He gets a vision about Fallon and goes to worn her. I loved the characters. I would read the first 2 books in the series if you want to know their story. Great story.

This was my first time reading a book by Mrs. Savage. I liked the writing style and felt the characters had depth. Although I haven’t read the first two books I didn’t find it hard to follow along. In fact I was quickly drawn into Fallon and Aidan’s magical world. I look forward to going back and reading the other books in this series.

3.5-4 stars. This book just wasn’t my jam. It wasn’t bad though. The story flowed really well. The characters were good. I don’t know why but I just could not get into it. That doesn’t mean it’s not a good book though!
