“Dax Thatcher?” I ask. “But isn’t he sorta. . .old?”

Ugh. Celebrities. I mean, I know I took a job as a reporter for the Celebrity and Pop Culture department of our magazine, but it was just supposed to be a stepping stone to the more real stuff.

Despite the fact that Dax Thatcher was the subject of many of my teen fantasies—and I may or may not have an entire playlist made

If you enjoy rockstar romances, stories on the sweeter side, great writing, a bit of a slow burn, but also some nice simmer that is just this side of sizzling – you need to read this book.

Off the Record was an easy read. With less than 200 pages it was a quick and entertaining read. I acutely devoured it in one sitting. As a matter of fact I didn’t want to put it down at all, so I delayed leaving to meet a friend until I was done – I’m a bad friend, but doesn’t that say it all???

Oh my, my, my! What an adorable book! Off the Record is my second read from Taylor Danae Colbert, with It Goes Without Saying being the first. Honestly, I didn’t enjoy It Goes without Saying very much because I had trouble connecting with the characters and the whole plot. Therefore, I’m completely blown away by how incredibly amazing this book is.

Taylor Danae Colbert has written a rock star romance on pitch for giving you all the kicks -- with a twist or two. There's a little bit of a "triangle" plot to it, yet not really. Nothing that makes you cringe or tear up your concert ticket. There's also an 11-year age gap between the two main characters, Shay Kellner and Dax Thatcher. Age gaps sometimes are a negative for me. Here, I didn't even give it a thought. He's a gorgeous rocker and she's actively pursuing a career as a journalist. One ...more

Taylor Danae Colbert always surprises her readers with her books. While most authors tend to stick with one genre, she experiments with her writing! That definitely pays off. So far she's done a book with best friends to lovers, a book with lots of girl power and now one with rock stars. It seems like there's nothing she can't do!

Shay is a journalist who would love to step up to write about world news, but took a job working as a reporter for Celebrity and Pop Culture department of the magazine.

Dax Thatcher may have been a big star some decades ago, but he still got the groove, the voice and the fanbase from this millennium. He had a new song and album coming out, and a supermodel fiancee in his arms. What more could he ask for? Well, an interview with Shay will eventually change all of this, but up to what extent?

Off The Record by Taylor Danae Colbert is a rockstar romance with the kind of love triangle that you would actually support and love. And then there's age gap, both between D

From the very beginning, I loved this book. The main characters met in an interesting way (an interview) and everything blossomed from there. It was a slow burn romance that kept you wanting more and more and then when you finally get it, it’s perfection. I was rooting for Shay and Dax from the second they met.

I loved their encounters, I loved their conversations, and I just loved this story! You truly can’t help but root for them!! There was a BIG curveball that I didn’t see coming and it was

Off the record, baby, you’re the best damn interview I ever had.”

Dax Thatcher was a big hit in the nineties with his band Karma. After a troubled period and a stay in a rehabilitation clinic, his band broke up. Leaving for a solo career, he now has a new album about to be released, produces young talent and has composed several hits. But the pinnacle of his career was in the past, he is still a celebrity but is no longer a rock star. But his personal life will put him in the spotlight again, aft

This is my favorite story by Taylor! I love a good rock star romance. I loved the connection between Dax & Shay. It was funny, it was heartwarming, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching their relationship develop.

I’ve never read a TDC book before. She took my heart on an adventure that I couldn’t put down. I couldn’t walk away from. From the beginning, I cheered for Shay and Dax. And I continued to the very last page. Unputdownable, and a twist I didn’t see coming, I clung to each page.
As a fan of rockstar romances I found myself becoming quickly immersed in the glittery world that hides many secrets and that fuels this story of forbidden romance. It’s a romance that sparks the moment a rocker, once at the top of the charts and now seeking a return there, meets the young reporter who brings out all his secrets while making his heart pound and from there readers will be taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. With an immensely appealing main couple, and a few surprising turn ...more

This story rocked my heart so hard. The rock and roll fangirl inside of me couldn't get enough of this story.

The main characters in the story have really great development. I adored Dax and Shay both. Shay was a take-charge type of girl that doesn't hold much of anything back. Although she had her personal insecurities, she was very confident otherwise. Especially when it came to doing her job. She was motivated and hard working. Dax's ch

If you ask Shay Kellner she would much rather spend her days writing stories about current events, in other-wards relevant news with meaning. Not writing glitz and glam pieces about celebrities. You know, stories about who wore what best, whose hooking up with who, or which celeb is headed down the aisle.

But, sometimes you have to do things you don't necessarily want to, to get where you want to be... which explains her current situation to a tee. She is working on a special story about music l

I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review, and I've never been more happy to do so.

Off the Record is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time, and it’s now in my top ten books of all time. It’s just that good. The perfect blend of romance, seduction, mystery, a surprise twist, and character development add to the richness of this story. And the twist shocked me, which is really hard to do!

Shay’s character really developed throughout the story, and in the last pages you can s

If I'm honest, I thought this book was going to be awful. The whole fangirl-reporter-meets-hot-rockstar-and-falls-hopelessly-in-love is a bit of a clichéd story line. I didn't know what to expect. So I'm pleased to say that I'm anything but disappointed. Colbert took such unexpected turns that it really was impossible to put down this book (yet another cliché that you need not fear; it's truly the only way to explain the savage need to turn the page for more). I was hooked on Shayna from the fir ...more

I was sent an ARC to get a first read on this book and I loved the story, I was unable to stop reading and I finished in a day. After I finished reading I wanted more!

The story is about a young woman, Shay Kellner, who is a reporter for an entertainment magazine. She really wants to write about current events such as politics and what is happening in the world versus what diet a celebrity is currently doing. She gets a big assignment to write a special the magazine is doing about a 90’s rock st

The author provided me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I just finished this story and it is the first one I have read by Taylor.
We are introduced to Shay, a big city reporter covering pop culture, and Dax, the supposed washed-up rockstar that's breaking news because he's marrying the sexiest model in the industry. Shay has been assigned to cover the story of their engagement and wedding and she's not one bit starstruck. Unless you consider that she's been Dax's biggest fan m

I have to say this is my favorite TDC book to date.

Shay is a reporter for an entertainment magazine, which isn't the type of reporting she wants to be doing. But.....she is being assigned a big story for the magazine interviewing the hollywood newly engaged IT couple right now. So Shay goes off to L.A. to interview Dax and his fiance' for a big spread in the magazine.

Dax is a rock star back in the day, about to marry a supermodel. But there is something about Dax that makes her curious. They sha

Shay Kellner is a girl I could be friends with. She is snarky and sweet all at the same time. She loves her family tremendously and lives her life like any good New Yorker would, at full speed breathing in the congested NYC air. Her self deprecating humor had me laughing because sweat jokes are always funny.

"I know I'm not a stop-you-in-your-tracks stunner, but I'm decent. I'm definitely a right-swipe. At least, I think..."

I recieved this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Taylor Danae Colbert for this opportunity. This was my first book by her and I hope to read more in the future. I enjoyed this story a lot, even though I’m not always the biggest fan of celebrity/rockstar trope, this story was different for me. The story line was good. Didn't see a few things coming, so Ms. Colbert kept me wanting to continue to read. That's always a good thing with a book! The main problem I actually had with this book had nothing to do with the story. The Kindle formatting was awful. So awful, that I had to reread many passages to ensure that I was understanding who said what. Also, there were a few typographical and grammatical errors that had me wondering how it passed through editing. That said, the story was good ...more

This is the third ARC I have read for Taylor in exchange for an honest review.

Shay and Dax's story was not what I initially expected it would be. I've read a few rock star falls in love with a 'normal' girl stories but this was definitely spun in a different and fresh way. Dax stole the show for me and I love the mystery of his (and I'm trying not to write spoilers) situation... I love the will they/won't they lead up to the end. There were a few cheesy lines of dialogue in the book, more so to

I started Off the Record thinking I’d read a few chapters, but I absolutely could not stop reading! I love love LOVED the characters. Their chemistry was amazing and their banter had me flipping the pages as fast as I could. Shay was funny and real and so relatable, and Dax was the kind of book boyfriend you can’t help but fall for. I mean…hot, tatted rockstar? YES, PLEASE. I seem to have been reading lots of new to me authors recently and Taylor Danae Colbert is one of them. Going in to Off the Record I wasn't sure what to expect but I really really enjoyed Shay and Dax's story.

When Shay is asked to write a 4 piece article on rocker Dax and his upcoming wedding to supermodel Annalise for the magazine she works for they seem like the picture perfect couple but in reality Shay has no idea what she's let herself in for.

A great read that I would highly reco

I LOVED this book! It has everything— comedy, suspense, romance, and even music! As I read, I would find myself putting off other activities just so I could have more time with Dax and Shay. This wasn’t just a book of fluff and sex—it has a real and powerful story. I can’t wait to see what TDC brings us next! #Karma-HeadForLife

I have read all three of Taylor’s books and each one is better than the last. I have never in my life read a book in one sitting, but I couldn’t put this one down. I immediately fell in love with Dax and couldn’t get enough of the sexual tension that was dripping off of every page. Keep writing girl! I can’t wait for the next one!

Hometown Connection sucks me in every time

Found this gem through Facebook, had no idea I had stumbled upon a local author. Getting into the story I start reading about the Baltimore connections and it made me feel right at home. I loved the storyline, the tension between the characters kept me up long past my bedtime. Start to finish in under 3 hours. I could not put it down.

Huge thank you to the author for an ARC of this book. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
