Scandalous

Lacey is the last person to be impressed by wealth and fame. Serious and stoic, she values hard work above all else. When she's hired as the home care worker to an injured celebrity, she couldn't care less about Zana's carefully constructed image. She only sees a rich, spoiled brat. A simple and yet unique story. Lacey is a homecare worker taking care of the rich spoiled Zana who was in a skiing accident.

Zanas life is far from the perfect Hollywood image her celebrity parents and friends portray. While Lacey lives at home with her hardworking parents struggling to pay rent.

They couldn't be more different, yet they are drawn to each other.

The tensions from their unlikely pairing was interesting, but a little shallow at times and all too easily solved.

I also found it unbelievable that Lacey was portrayed as a virgin who upon her first time giving oral sex, gives her partner multiplying multiple earth shattering orgasms (all without any direction or instruction whatsoever) despite the partner apparently being quite experienced. Lol.
The whole ' inexperienced girl turning into a porn star ' trope needs to die.

Zana was the wealthy child of two famous people, an actor and a singer. She never went to a school - home tutoring, she never worked a day in her life, and she did not seem to have a single real friend to come to visit her hen she was home with severe injuries from skiing.

Lacey has two working class parents, who work all sorts of jobs and shifts to jut make end meet - and yet they have each other, and they have love. She had to drop out of nursing school in order to help defray the costs for funeral services for her grandmother.

Lacey cannot begin to image a life without her parents in it - Zana rarely sees her parents, and it is often a negotiation for them to spend time together. weeks on end Lacey worked as a caregiver for injured Zana and each of her parents visits exactly once.

Can a media uproar bring them together or tear them apart? how much reality can Zana really live with in her life? is she capable of the honesty needed to be real with herself and Lacey?

A tough road, but these two seem to have the potential for a strong and interesting future, if they can hang on and ride out the rough parts - together.

fun f/f romance!

I liked this book, but something was off. The main characters had depth, grew throughout the story, and in the end were pretty likable. I think the secondary characters were okay. Zana's parents were more fleshed out due to the location, big Lacey's parents could have been more developed. I thought the pace was great, even if sometimes plodding. I should love this book, but I don't. I think it's because it was laid out too predictable and too clean cut.

Good book but quick ending

I know the book was getting long but it seemed like the ending and the conclusion to their issues and problems just came way too quickly. It was well written and the plot line was wonderful but when the tension was at its highest it seems they both just fell into the HEA too quickly. Overall a good read though.

It always nice to read this type of book

Now this is a book not a quick Wham Bam Thank You Ma’am. The book tells a story about two women. Every chapter tells the other point of view. The characters are well developed and there is a happy ending. If you looking for a book with lots of sex this book isn’t for you. If your looking for a book that shows you two totally different people ( one rich one poor) and how they coexist and fall in love than this book is right up ya our alley.

The perfect book to read on holiday. Vanilla, no major angst, sun shinning, a swim in the sea, a glass of red wine... what could be better? Doesn't give the brain cells a workout, rather takes them for an all inclusive cruise!

Like any Hartfield book this is a short and easy read. It’s not bad but it isn’t great either, it’s somewhere in the middle.

Vicious and gratuitous main character. Not for my tastes

Zana is a huge celebrity for doing nothing more than being born to famous parents. Literally. She does nothing at all except post updates on Instagram. She is dating Tia, a reality show semi-brity who’s gained more publicity thanks to the Zana connection. On a skiing trip, Zana is wilful about one last run and ends up seriously injured. Tia, and the rest of Zana’s ‘friends’ immediately disappear. Lacey is appointed as a care giver for Zana by her absentee mother. Zana, rude, entitled, brattish and badly behaved – but awfully alone – not that she spends a lot of time worrying about that. Lacey, momentarily strapped and dreaming about returning to nursing school, shows spine in not taking all the rudeness that Zana is dishing out. Immediacy and the fact that they are almost isolated together for about twelve hours every day builds emotion and appreciation of the other.

This should have been a story for age group 13-18 because the character descriptions are really unbelievable for any age group higher. I skipped pages a number of times ...plots and character descriptions were really infantile on many of those occasions.

Cute Story!

I liked how the story began. Spoiled rich girl loses her pride after accident. Then when you see that no family members or friends come to visit, you feel sorry for her. The relationship between Lacey and Zana was intense. The learning curve that each had to go through was written well. I just had a hard time with the skydiving. Casts just off and boom. Parts Seemed sort of juvenile and reckless. But other than that it was a cute love story. I am a big fan of Kim Hartfield.

I couldn't put this book down

As much as I didn't want to like Zana, the rich, spoiled daughter of a celebrity super couple, I couldn't help but to fall for her charm. Reading about her growth as her relationship with Lacey blossomed was quite enjoyable. I'd love to see more of these characters.

Good book

I liked reading about how Zana and Lacey interacted. Lacey had a lot of stereotypical notions about Zana - even though some were true - and about Zana's famous parents - which turned out to not be true. Fast forward and the relationship makes them both better and stronger.

Needs work

The book synopsis sounded good but, upon reading, I found it hard to like the characters. The story seemed rushed and not fully formed. I can only say that I got through it.

Scandalous... or actually not?

From what I'd read of Kim Hartfield before I was expecting a hot and steamy story. I was surprised by what I found... there are a few steamy scenes but what I found was a beautiful story of love, finding oneself and making a life out of circumstances.

I loved this book, it was deeply romantic but had the required twists and turns.

We have an arrogant, rich brat and a proud but poor member of her staff. If nothing else this shouldn't work but can love conquer all? Read and find out.

I thoroughly recommend... loved every word, finished in one evening. Its now 2am and I just finished it!

One is a celebrity, the child of rich parents, never lacking for money. The other lives a normal life, working hard to make ends meet. Can they find the real people underneath these veneers?

This is a wonderful F/F romance story with realistic characters, a strong story line and real emotions. Both characters were well developed with their own issues to deal with and I loved the way they gradually came to see each other in a new light. The story was fun to read and very enjoyable.

Highly recommended.

A patient care-worker relationship has some potential since two people are in close proximity for long periods of time and have the opportunity to get to know each other. However in this case both main characters come across as immature and cranky. There are a number of secondary characters but they are very one dimensional. The resolution comes quickly as the main characters are rushed to their HEA.

She works hard and she is hired to look after an injured female star. At first it seems they are so very different but as time goes by, they seem to get on better. Will this be the start of something? See if it will

Unfortunately, I DNF-ed the book. I got about 70% of the way through and the actions, conversations, milestones and the like that the two MC's faced were a bit too puerile for me. The characters weren't relatable, the conflict was too immature so the book didn't hold my attention. I have enjoyed other books by this author, this one wasn't my shot of whiskey.

Home Care Worker vs Celebrity

I very much enjoyed the way this book started. Zara was being a real bitch to Lacey, who was her home care giver. The chemistry between the two made me wonder if there was going to be another main character introduced who was not in the summary. I liked how each character had her own personal growth.

I was really impressed by this book and the story was nice. It was original. It was cute. It was dramatic, at times. It was funny, at other times.
