GAAAHHH I love this series sooo much!
And urgh the cliffhanger at the end?! I need volume 9 😩 Ohmi and Ellie are so flippin cute and sweet.
They decided to announce that they are dating to classmates at school, and Ellie is invited to hang out with Ohmi's friends. When Ellie and Ohmi arrive late at her house and kiss before she heads, her father catches them and tells her she's grounded.
I really liked the father and how he tells Ellie about his fear of his daughter growing up and being with a boy. There's a bit of growth in Ellies personality, and she and Ohmi grow closer...
Ugh, I need more!

Oh god it just gets cuter and more wholesome each chapter :')))) I love that they finally let their relationship show in public–WHOEVER TRIES TO HURT ELLIE WILL FACE MY WRATH–and we get to learn more about Omi's circle of friends.
The thing with Ellie's father is going to be a bit difficult, but I definitely understand where he's coming from. They're literally teenagers, so it's good that he worries for Ellie.

Just okay. Fujimomo leans hard into stereotypical shoujo romance tropes. There's nothing wrong with that, but this volume doesn't really measure up to the fun of previous volumes. It also ends on a ridiculous note. You two are in high school. Hold your horses! That said, moving too fast is indeed a very teenager thing to do.

Finally, they decided to make their relationship public and omg I was so nervous about this! But so many people are supporting them and are actually super happy for them because they can see how much in love they are. And also most of the girls have begun to separate the adoration from an actual crush so it's really good to watch.

Den Band wollte ich seit längerem schon lesen. Mit jeden Band wird die Reihe irgendwie besser und süßer. Die Charakteren gefallen mir auch sehr gut. Die Story ist auch gut. Ich kann nicht sagen das mir irgendwas stört. Es passt alles.

wholesome as shit in the best way—really interested in how the plot continues for 4 more volumes after this, because i feel like they’re in a really solid place right now and i’d be very annoyed if they were put through unnecessary drama for the sake of it…

ahhhhh finally, this was such a great volume!! this series was starting to slow down for me, but we got a whole lot in these chapters - ellie and ohmi alone in his room (ended up being cute and chaste), them finally going public with their relationship, her meeting and then bonding with his friends, a fight/reconciliation with her dad, and an adorable aquarium date ending with a ferris wheel!
I laughed out loud at multiple points again, such as when ellie was covering for maria's cramps and when she kissed ohmi's reflection in the window reflection (lmao). ellie was back to her usual mix of self-deprecating humor, social anxiety, and sudden bursts of silly, self-confident pervyness. the banter between her and ohmi continues to be so fun!

This one was so hilarious in the beginning that Eriko really is just the best and so funny when she gets ideas in her head. Akira was so amazing for wanting their relationship to be public, and it really was so sweet of him to want to show off his love. Eriko's father is the new added tension between the couple, and Akira really came through and helped Eriko see where he is coming from. Akira's confession in the end was so squeal worthy. The art was great, and this was such a nice development in their relationship. This was so worth the read and so enjoyable of a story progression.

This series is honestly just too good! Ellie and Ohmi are continously hilarious and extremely sweet together. I just adore them as a couple. I've also come to realize that aquarium scenes in shoujosei manga are the absolute best (better than amusement parks!), and they're always my favorites.
My favorite part of this volume was 100% the relationship between Ellie and her dad. That whole section was just incredibly beautiful and heartwarming (I might have teared up a bit).

Lovesick Ellie truly embodies everything I love about contemporary shoujo romance. The romance between Ellie and Omie is so sweet and healthy, Ellie is the easiest heroine to root for, and the humor is always spot on, and with super cute art to boot. I love that we see all the common tropes, but played out in ways that are pleasantly surprising. This is exactly what I want from this type of story and it always leaves me with the biggest smile on my face and the happiest feelings.

This volume was so sweet and wholesome, I feel my teeth hurting. I love all of the progress that Ellie and Omi-kun made in this volume, especially in connection to Ellie’s father in the last chapter. Also, this volume possibly had the most adorable cliffhanger and it’s all thanks to Omi-kun’s declaration, along with Ellie’s reaction to his declaration.

Wow just wow. I was not expecting Ohmi to be so ahead of Ellie’s fantasies.
Also can we all give Ellie’s dad a hug! I also love those chaotic panels were you have 3 people in one scene saying or reacting to something and it’s just so ridiculous that makes you laugh so hard… not sure if I make sense but oh well.

WELL THAT WAS EMBARRASSING. Poor Ellie...as a daughter you definitely don't want to get caught like that by your dad. At least Ohmi's attitude and actions gave me a little bit of respect for him, but the surprise ending sure walloped me.

This volume’s content wasn’t the most exciting (a girl being jealous—only it turns out she’s not! Ellie’s dad being ridiculously overprotective, only it turns out it’s fine!). At this point I think I’m just reading so I can finish the series more than I’m reading for enjoyment. 😅

Ce huitième tome apporte son lot de rebondissements et garde toute la fraîcheur de la série. La complicité entre Ellie et Omi est adorable et pleine de sincérité. J’ai trouvé ce volume particulièrement attendrissant, avec un équilibre parfait entre humour et romance.
