It’s All About That Cowboy is book #1.5 in the Once Upon a Time in Texas series by Carly Bloom. After I read Carly’s first book, Big Bad Cowboy, I couldn’t wait for her next release and have been so excited to get my hands on this. It definitely did not disappoint. This is a short, sexy and sweet second chance romance.

Casey Long was the town bad boy back in his teens. He had also been in love with a girl that saw past his swagger to something better. Something he wanted to live up to. That girl

A nice, sweet, quick novella with all the usual gang as well as a witty, romantic storyline that we’ve come to love and expect in this series.

Welcome back home to Big Verde, Texas

A second chance romance in Big Verde, TX, a small town with one stoplight. Jessica Acosta and Casey Long were high school sweethearts who had forever plans for their future until her mother needed to move them quickly out of town right after Jessica's graduation with no notice or explanation. Casey, once the town bad boy, is now the town sheriff and Jessica manages a restaurant in Houston, TX. They were separated 12 years ago and

What a fantastic second chance novella by author Carly Bloom! When Jessica Acosta’s mother took Jessica and left Big Verde, Texas after graduation…she knew it had to be. But her high school sweetheart (who took her virginity) was broken hearted when she just up and left…not knowing she had written letters to him in an attempt to contact him. He didn’t know why she left…until years later when she returns to town for a funeral, with a little girl with Down ’s syndrome who happens to be the same ag ...more

A sweet country novella about second-chance romance. Jess and Casey were high school sweethearts who had plans for their future. Unfortunately, they were separated and were unable to reconnect due to plenty of family secrets & deception. Twelve years later Jessica returned home and the past catches up.
The chemistry never cooled off for these two over the years. Unfortunately, they have to weave through the secrets and deceitful behaviors to find their way to each other again. I really like how

I have to admit it took me a bit to remember this series. I read the first book in late 2018 so when this one came out I almost forgot that I read the first in the series. I'm so glad that even though I didn't remember reading it I took a chance and requested It's All About that Cowboy.

I really loved it! It was was a great read. It's a second chance romance so you didn't have the build-up to them falling in love bu

I fell in love with Big Bad Cowboy. I was tickled to have a chance to read It’s All About That Cowboy!
Novellas as a whole are tricky for me. I either don’t have time to connect with the characters or....I fall in love with the characters and don’t have enough time with them 🤷🏻‍♀️. The latter was true for this one!
I fell in love with the characters. I adore second chance romance and I wish I had a smidge more time with Casey & Jessica.
At the end of the day Carly Bloom does no wrong and I have t

It’s All About That Cowboy is an emotional novella that packs a powerful punch. Once upon a time Jessica and Casey were high school sweetheart headed for a future together until her mother needed to move them out of town right after Jessica’s graduation with no notice, no time to get to Casey. Each believed the other had abandoned them and moved on, as well as two people in love but separated, could. Now Jess is back in town for a very short time and coming face to fa

What happens when you find out your life was purposefully altered at eighteen to protect an a$$hat?

Jessica and Hope are coming home to Big Verde, Texas for the first time in 12 years for Hope's Grandma Mavis' funeral and to correct a situation that's been allowed to slip too far out of Jessica's control.

When Casey stops an out of town driver driving a flame red Porsche for running a red light in the center of town, he never could have imagined he would run into the girl who abandoned him after t

This was another solid addition to the Once Upon a Time in Texas series. Even though it was a novella, it still had a lot of good material packed into a short story.

Jessica is back in Big Verde to attend a funeral. Her first love, Casey, just so happens to be the sheriff of Big Verde now. He's a reformed bad boy. They both think the other left without looking back the day after graduation and abandoned all their plans of a life together. But their families came into play and they've spent the la

This is my first five star read of the year and it was so good. I absolutely adore Carly Bloom and her writing. This book does have a cowboy, an adorable child and second chance romance to swoon for. I wish the book was longer and that it has an epilogue but overall this was perfection.

First time reading a Carly Bloom book and am now a devoted follower.
This is a very well laid out story of how a woman returns to her hometown with lots of baggage weighing her down. Unsure of how she’ll be received, Jessica gingerly reacquaints herself with the people and makes peace with her memories. She slowly reaches out to some people in town, particularly Casey, her old beau. It’s touch and go with all the brouhaha and drama that ensues. The author sums things at the end so effortlessly th

Aww, this was cute! I usually don't care for second-chance romance, but this one was done very believably. Jess left town right after she and the hero, Casey, had graduated high school, spent the night together, and talked of the future. The reasons why she left were secret, though she did try to communicate with Casey through letters. Which he never got.

As for Casey, I loved him. He was my favorite part of the story, I think. A bad boy who was formerly in the rodeo turned sheriff? Awesome mix!

Small town kismet

Carly! You're crushing it! The voice on these characters is distinct and so engrossing. I always feel like Texas is a place I've been when I'm reading your work.

IaATC packs all the punch of a longer novel into a tight little package of romance. Big Verde feels very real - just like the small town I grew up in.

This was cute but it would have been better as a full length novel. I would have enjoyed seeing more character development from Jessica and Casey. And I really want to read more about Carmen and the twins.

This is a cute little novella that is a full story and we even get a HEA at the end. It's not as steamy as her book one but its still steamy and spicy!! These characters were not in book one but they were written so well, that you fall them even in this short book. Loved this second-chance romance and its super cute, fun, and times some more time to other characters in books one and two.

I'm starting to be a huge fan of Carly Bloom and this town in Texas!

Carly Bloom has a certain style that runs through all her books: her stories are funny, sweet, and sexy. For me, it's the perfect combination for a romance. This novella is all the above. Bloom's characters are so well-developed that they feel like they could walk off the page. And Big Verde as a setting is delightful. I'm always happy to spend more time there! I'm looking forward to her next full-length book, Cowboy Come Home! ...more

Jess is raising her younger sister and she also has connections to town.

It's All About That Cowboy is a standalone novella in Carly Bloom's Big Verde, Texas series. It was a fun second chance romance that took place in the same town as Big Bad Cowboy. Jessica was the sweet cheerleader that was dating local bad boy Casey. The last time they saw each other was after graduation where they vowed to love each other and be together forever. Well fate had different plans for Jessica and Casey. Now it is 12 years later and she is returning home for a funeral and has always ...more

This is my first Carly Bloom. It was tucked into the back of Justified / It's All About That CowboyJustified / It's All About That Cowboy. This was a sweet small-town story about Casey and Jessica. They are reuniting after 12 years apart. They were high school sweethearts separated by their families. Casey is the county sheriff and is just such a cinnamon-roll hero. The whole story was very sweet and the big secret was handled very well. I look forward to reading my next Carly Bloom book. ...more

It's All About That Cowboy is a wonderful short, second chance romance that takes place in Cary Bloom’s Once Upon A Time In Texas series and fills the gap between books one and two perfectly. Jess and Casey have history; but after reconnecting many years later, they are confronted by the deceitful web of lies and secrets yet again, while acknowledging that the overwhelming chemistry they once shared has never died.

Ms Bloom has taken a novella length story and turned it into a complex, emotional

This was the perfect combination of sweet/steamy and the cowboy aspect did not disappoint either. It's a second chance novella for Jessica and Casey, who were high school sweethearts until Jessica abruptly left town with her family, and Casey never responded to any of her letters. Her paths cross with Casey, who went from the bad boy in high school to being the town Sheriff, and the sparks fly immediately ...more

This is a sweet story that will pull at ll the heartstrings. It touches on some very current topics in todays society. It poses some other questions such as can a first love really be true love, do other people really knows what’s best for us and are you destined to remain who you were when you are young or can you change?
This book will have you tearing up, smiling, laughing, swooning. In other words it hits all the right nerves.
Cassidy will have you sighing. Jessica, will have you pulling for h

A short and very sweet second chance romance. I really enjoyed this book, it was a quick read but it's jam packed with great characters, a sweet and hot romance, and an interesting story that I didn't see coming from a second chance romance book. Carly Bloom began her writing career as a family humor columnist and blogger, a pursuit she abandoned when her children grew old enough to literally die from embarrassment. To save their delicate lives, Carly turned to penning steamy, contemporary romance. The kind with bare chests on the covers.

Carly and her husband raise their mortified brood of offspring on a cattle ranch in South Texas. Also?
