This is a really enjoyable story, set in the small town of Willow Springs, it is cold and time for the local Maple Sugar Ball, the lovely Caitlin Summers has come to town to help her friend out in her shop, and she is not looking for love, but small towns and friends tend to want everyone to be happy, and when she meets local Corey Duncan, well her heart is starting to flutter.

Caitlin was hurt badly when her last relationship broke up, she left her family and her home state of San Diego and trav

LION DANCING FOR LOVE by Laura Boon, the latest addition to the Deerboune Inn series, is a novel filled with emotion, decisions, dance, and love.

I love a moving on after loss story so much and LION DANCING FOR LOVE hit all the emotional points for me that I look for in a well told, emotional romance in this trope. But the one thing that Boon did exceptionally well in her book was something I don’t see often in tales of loss: having a protagonist NOT want to move on. Corey Duncan loved his wife u

Corey swore off love when his wife Annie died from breast cancer. Caitlyn is too young, too citified, and vibrates with a passion and energy that will upend the safe, comfortable rhythm of his life. Corey has to c

This was my first read from this author and I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style. This book was a bit steamier than my usual (I fall somewhere between sweet and steamy, in the spicy zone), but I enjoyed the characters immensely and they were quite attracted to each other from the get-go! Ms. Boon did a great job creating genuine and likable characters. Caitlin and Corey both have complicated pasts with their respective exes and are hesitant about starting over at their ages (35-40), but they m ...more

Lion Dancing for Love
Corey Duncan is a widower still grieving his wife who died young from cancer. He keeps to himself in Willow Springs, Vermont resisting friends’ well-intentioned efforts to get him to socialize. When Caitlin breezes into his small town from San Diego they notice each other immediately and they like what they see. A lot. But Corey won’t go there. He’s content with his life as it is existing in the present and he’s unwilling to think about any kind future with another woman, e

Lion Dancing for Love by Laura Boon, is the first book I’ve read from this author. It is the latest addition to the Deerbourne Inn series. I thoroughly enjoyed her tale of love after loss and second chances. The character and plot were realistic and relatable. The descriptions of the fictional town Willow Springs, it’s shops and delectable food made you feel like you were there sharing Cory and Caitlyn’s experiences and their connection to the townspeople. I delighted in their quirky families an ...more

Lion Dancing for Love is the beginning to Laura Boon’s series, Deerbourne Inn. It is, also, my first introduction to Miss Boon’s work. I really enjoyed this story. The characters and plot were realistic, going through real issues that many readers would be able to relate to. I loved it. It is not a long book and I had no problem having it read in little over an hour – an hour well spent.
I give Lion Dancing for Love five stars and I look forward to read what happens next in the Deerbourne Inn se

This book is like a lovely hug from author Laura Boon. Laura’s writing is very readable and her words always well chosen. I loved the characters of Caitlin and Corey who dance around each other (first metaphorically and then literally!) as potential lovers do. The setting was authentic and secondary characters also likeable and well drawn. It was steamy in places but these scenes were skillfully and sensitively written and I highly recommend this book to all readers who enjoy romance and HEAs. L ...more

I loved this novel. I got caught up in the romance between Caitlyn and Corey. The characters' back stories were interwoven at just the right time (when I couldn't wait to find out!) and the novel has a cast of warm, funny supporting characters that really added depth. A heartwarming, romantic read. ...more

The first romance novel I read was either The Flame and the Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss (borrowed from my father's book shelves) or These Old Shades by Georgette Heyer (discovered on the library shelves). Both instilled a love of historical romance from which I have never recovered – and nor do I wish to recover. For a while I read them veraciously, alternating with adventure stories and detectiv ...more
