According to Brynn Larson, Maxwell Lewis is more trouble than he's worth. She doesn't care if he's a football god with a rock-hard body that brings most women to their knees. After an encounter that ends poorly, she's not interested in giving him a second chance.

Noooooo! How? Why? I had so much hope for BLITZED! I can't even...I was so looking forward to Brynn's story.

And it started out quite well. I loved Brynn's snark, sass and her insecurities in the beginning but they soon became a major issue. Her snark turned into brashness and rude attitude at

Title: Blitzed
Series: Playbook #3
Author: Alexa Martin
Release date: December 3, 2019
Cliffhanger: No
Genre: sports romance

One of the things I was really looking forward to was more of Alexa Martin's humorous dialogue. It never fails to make me laugh out loud and put a smile on my face. Make no mistake, I was entertained by that aspect and had no problems with boredom. Funny banter between the football players and the WAGs has been a staple in the series. In Blitzed, it was a case of too much of a

Blitzed is the third book in the Playbook series. This is a series of interconnected standalone books. Each book has its own female narrator. But a lot of the supporting characters are in all of the books.

This book is a sports contemporary romance (football). It is sexy. But it is also funny and has a romantic comedy/Chick lit vibe.

I have read both Intercepted and Fumbled and really liked them both. So I was so anxious to get to read this third book in the series. I adore these books

I realize this book isn't out for a few months but when football is in the air and a new Alexa Martin sports romance hits your kindle, you do not wait to jump right in. And I'm so glad I didn't. Brynn and Maxwell's slow burning friends to lovers romance was exactly what I needed today, a deliciously addictive story of friendship, football and fierce attraction. I did nothing this weekend but devour Blitzed and now that I'm finished, all I can think about is watching a game while drinking good ...more

After devouring the first two books of this series this month, I was super excited to get to Brynn’s story. She came off so sassy and I just knew I would love her book. Sadly friends, that didn’t happen.

What I did enjoy from this book was being back in the Mustang community and the friendship between the women. Every time these ladies are together I never fail to laugh. The way they are so in tune with one another and so protective of each other never seems to amaze me.

I’ve enjoyed the previous books in this series and Brynn has been a character I’ve loved, so I was excited to see she was getting her own book.

I liked Brynn well enough. Her inner monologue was very odd to me as it came across like she was telling a story to someone. Every time she clarified something or argued with herself, it would take me out of the story. I liked Maxwell. He’s charming and considerate and I would have loved more open communication between the two of them. Of course, Vonnie

There's something so engaging and addicting and unputdownable about Alexa Martin's writing. Maybe it's that she writes football romance with such an authentic voice. She doesn't shy away from the actual football and I have the feeling I'm getting this perfect mix of fantasy meets reality - and it somehow enhances the fantasy. I can't put my finger on it, but suffice to say these books are like decadent treats for me: I luxuriate in them, I gobble them up with gluttonous greed, and I am always, ...more

The third book in the Playbook series and Alexa Martin does not fail to bring it once again! Brynn is the bar owner and pivotal location in the first two books so it was only fitting that we got to know another strong, independent, women. Brynn and Maxwell have a friendship were their chemistry is seen by everyone but the two of them. Brynn has deep commitment issues from her past and Maxwell has family secrets as well. I loved the banter between the two of them and their

This was my first Alexa Martin read, so even though i have not read the previous books, I did not feel that I was missing too much.

Now, what can I say about this book? Hmmm, I was really looking forward to it and was excited to read it, however it fell flat. I didn't really feel any chemistry between Brynn and Maxwell, and I felt myself wanting to skip ahead as it just plodded along. I was waiting for something to happen.

I liked Maxwell, however I

This book is 6 out of 5 stars. I didn't realize it was the 3rd in the series until I had it downloaded and even with that confusion, this book was absolutely incredible. Brynn is a strong female who runs a bar for women and is an actual, certified badass--and oh, yeah, her hunk just happens to be a professional football player. There's so many supportive and uplifting female characters, so many shared successes, and

Brynn and Maxwell are a delight together. She’s the outgoing and defiantly single owner of HERS, the women-centric Denver bar where the stars of a reality show like to hang out. He’s the quiet, talented defensive back for the Denver Mustangs. Watching them slowly trust each other and give in to their mutual attraction is a pleasure. Plus, they bond over old Parks and Rec episodes. What’s not to like?
This book ended up being a good read but it was really slow in parts and I spent way too much time waiting for something to happen. I did enjoy seeing all of our friends from the previous books but was bummed that I wasn't as invested in Maxwell and Brynne's romance as I was in Ace and Poppy's romance. Oh well, we can't win them all.

I loved the first two Playbook stories and was excited to see Brynn getting her own book. Brynn was such an important part of Poppy and Marlee's HEAs. She was all about women helping women, and I was so happy to see her finally get her own HEA.

Brynn was driven and determined. Her desire to create a place for women by women was something I really admired about her, but deep down, she was dealing with some really deep wounds due her mother's abandonment, and this kept her from having any real

4.5 stars— there isn’t much that excites me more than a new book by Alexa Martin, and Brynn and Maxwell’s story didn’t disappoint. Yes to everything in this book— especially if you love miscommunication, enemies to lovers, sports romances, romances that really build out the supporting characters, and a badass boss lady heroine.

Martin is an auto buy for me, and if you like rom com AT ALL, she should be for you too, because she’s one of the very best in the genre— now or ever.

Blitzed is such a charming read! Quick note: I didn't read either of the prior books in the series as I won this through a Goodreads giveaway, but it didn't take away from the story at all. Don't be afraid to jump right in with this one!

Filled with humor, friendship, and romance, Martin tells the story of an independent woman—Brynn—who built an incredible community around her and the fear of how that dynamic might shift once she invites a little love (of the hot, steamy variety) into her life

I received a copy of this title via NetGalley. It does not impact my review.

I’ve really enjoyed the other books in the Playbook series and while I did like Blitzed, I didn’t think it was quite as good as the others were.

I have been looking forward to Brynn’s story for awhile now. I was glad we finally got to learn a little more about her, but she wasn’t as likable as I expected her to be. She was really hardworking and dedicated to her job and cared a lot about her friends and father, which are

Alexa Martin doesn’t disappoint! Blitzed is my favorite book from the Playbook series. This story centers around Brynn Sterling the owner of a HERS and Maxwell Lewis the Denver Mustangs defensive back.
This slow burn romance is so charming, witty, and full of sweetness. Brynn and Maxwell’s relationship starts as such a strong friendship, that the romance is so easy to root for. Both of them have family baggage and are workaholics, but they can see the importance for a good night staying in

Who could not love Brynn and Maxwell? They were the perfect opposites attract couple. Brynn is brash and fly by the seat of your pants type of person. I loved her personality. Then you have Maxwell who is all shy and quiet. He is one of those people that when they have something to say you better listen. He can definitely pull off the naughty talk! They just fit perfectly. I loved how Brynn put herself out there for a relationship with Maxwell. The only issue I had is her believing someone she ...more

Alexa Martin's Fumbled was the first sports romance I ever read, so when I saw that she had another book featuring the Lady Mustangs, I requested as fast as I could! Blitzed pairs bar owner Brynn with football player Maxwell. They have instant chemistry, and Maxwell is caring and compassionate. As a result, instead of a story about wooing, Brynn and Maxwell actually have to learn how to be in a relationship with each other. It feels like a grown up and modern kind of love story. Instead of hot ...more

Loved everything about this book. Maxwell isn't like the other Playbook Series' heroes: he's quiet, unassuming, and sweet-- the perfect opposite of our loud, sh*t-talking Brynn. I loved being in Brynn's head and kept turning the pages to see how Brynn overcame her trust issues and Maxwell opened up. Loved every word!

Max doesn't understand his woman at times, “I’ve never seen a woman get so excited over men’s shoes,” he says." Max is quite the caregiver, “go lie down,” he demands, pushing the door open and ignoring my warning. “I brought Gatorade, crackers, and soup. I’ll call my doctor, she makes house calls.” I liked this book, I liked Max.

I do not know if I am more in love with Alexa Martin or her characters. I mean honestly, she has built this whole world of amazing girl bosses and upstanding athletes. Her balance of football, real life, and fun shenanigans continues to be aces in Blitzed. Honestly, this series IS sports romance. It’s the absolute epitome of it.

Listen, I would only work at a bar like HERS because Brynn is the kind of millennial woman we need in charge. Her loyalty to all her Lady
Loved all the characters in this one. I am going to have to go back and read the first two so I can catch up on what I missed in all of their lives.

I was a bit disappointed with the twist and how everything wrapped up. I feel like the arc of the novel was introduced way too late and then wrapped up in a couple of pages.

Loved all the steam. Alexa Martin really takes you there so if you aren't a fan of open door romance then this one isn't for you.

Blitzed is the third book in the Playbook series. The series is a combination of sports romance with some humor and lots of steam. Blitzed features Maxwell Lewis, Denver Mustangs defensive back, and Brynn Sterling, owner of HERS…

All I wanted was to be out with my girls, drinking a fantastic specialty cocktail, and watching the latest Bravo reality show with a roomful of strangers.

There is so much to love about Maxwell (Max) and Brynn’s story. Max is so swoony and sweet! It seems as if he and

The Playbook series is consistently great. Strong women, great friends, hot romances, and a dash of humor make these books fun reads that you can breeze through while you fan yourselves. It's no trouble at all to read about hot athletes, and I don't even like sports.

I think Poppy and TK are still my favorites, but Brynn and Maxwell are a close second. Their relationship developed naturally and their sexual tension was off the charts. And how could anyone not fall for Brynn? A business owner, a

That said, I devoured this, and I unhesitatingly recommend it.
