Maxwell has finally met an opponent that he can't best in this new football romance from the author of Fumbled.

According to Brynn Larson, Maxwell Lewis is more trouble than he's worth. She doesn't care if he's a football god with a rock-hard body that brings most women to their knees. After an encounter that ends poorly, she's not interested in giving him a second chance.

I realize this book isn't out for a few months but when football is in the air and a new Alexa Martin sports romance hits your kindle, you do not wait to jump right in. And I'm so glad I didn't. Brynn and Maxwell's slow burning friends to lovers romance was exactly what I needed today, a deliciously addictive story of friendship, football and fierce attraction. I did nothing this weekend but devour Blitzed and now that I'm finished, all I can think about is watching a game while drinking good be ...more

I've really enjoyed the other books in the Playbook series and while I did like Blitzed, I didn't think it was quite as good as the others were. Full review to come.

Max doesn't understand his woman at times, “I’ve never seen a woman get so excited over men’s shoes,” he says." Max is quite the caregiver, “go lie down,” he demands, pushing the door open and ignoring my warning. “I brought Gatorade, crackers, and soup. I’ll call my doctor, she makes house calls.” I liked this book, I liked Max.

My favorite of the three. I really thought in the end the conflict wouldn’t be a case of mistaken identity/something that could be solved by just listening to one another, so for that to end up not being the case was disappointing. But I still dug it.

I have loved Brynn since the first book in this series, and I am so happy she got her own book! Maxwell is just the ultimate best guy for her, and in general he's just the best. They both have so much love to give and so much of just them that is perfect. Separately they are amazing, and together they are just everything.

The Playbook series is consistently great. Strong women, great friends, hot romances, and a dash of humor make these books fun reads that you can breeze through while you fan yourselves. It's no trouble at all to read about hot athletes, and I don't even like sports.

I think Poppy and TK are still my favorites, but Brynn and Maxwell are a close second. Their relationship developed naturally and their sexual tension was off the charts. And how could anyone not fall for Brynn? A business owner, a

Alexa Martin's Fumbled was the first sports romance I ever read, so when I saw that she had another book featuring the Lady Mustangs, I requested as fast as I could! Blitzed pairs bar owner Brynn with football player Maxwell. They have instant chemistry, and Maxwell is caring and compassionate. As a result, instead of a story about wooing, Brynn and Maxwell actually have to learn how to be in a relationship with each other. It feels like a grown up and modern kind of love story. Instead of hot a ...more

Alexa Martin does it again with this can't book it down romance.

We finally get to know more about Brynn the owner of HERS a bar where both Marlee from Intercepted and Poppy from Fumbled worked. Maxwell Lewis a member of the Denver Mustangs football team and a soft spoken and shy person. He has had a crush on Brynn since the first day he saw her four years ago, and Brynn feels the same way. When one of them finally gets the courage to make a move will the other go running for the hills or fight

The third in Alexa Martin's addictive Playbook series features strong, silent football superstar Maxwell Lewis and funny, outspoken bar-owner Brynn Larson. Brynn says she doesn't do relationships and so maybe that's why Maxwell is taking the slow and steady path to win her heart. Steamy and hilarious, this is an fun read that is as much about Brynn and the world of supportive women that she's built around her as it is about the developing relationship. Conflict arise that threatens to keep them ...more

Thank you to the publisher, via NetGalley, for providing me with an arc for review. This has in no way influenced my opinion.
This book started out fine, but the characters failed to develop much personality, the romance doesn't make sense, and the friend group is cartoonish. There are also two dramatic story lines that occur near the end of the book, neither of which gets appropriate treatment. Separately from that, Brynn's about-face on a long-held personal family decision is basically one sent

The third book in the Playbook series doesn’t disappoint. Humor, romance and drama. Alexa Martin continues to deliver.

The Lady Mustangs and the HERS bar family support and provoke each other. What great friendships these women have. I especially want Vonnie as my bestie.

Marlee is still my favorite character.
TK and Poppy are my favorite couple.
But Maxwell and Brynn definitely have chemistry.

Can be read as a stand-alone but you really should be reading everything by Alexa Martin

    Thank you Berkley

Absolutely loved all 3 books in Alexa Martin’s Playbook series, especially this one because I have so many common interests as the main character, Brynn. I love how Martin connects the characters together between the three novels and am really hope she writes many more about the players and their Lady Mustangs. Amazing series!!!
