I’m quite the Anna Bloom fan and will happily dive into each of her new releases. Although I enjoy her adult contemporary romance more, I’m always willing to give her young adult fantasy and science fiction reads a try. Thus, I jumped into A Curse of Stone and Fire.

In truth, I wasn’t crazy about this one. It was an interesting story, but I was never sucked into it in the way I had hoped. I think my issue was that I never came to connect with the characters, as my brain was stuck in editor mode. By that, I mean I was constantly stopping when the American character did or thought something distinctly British. It pulled me out of the story too much, stopping me from being sucked in the way I would have hoped.

Add in the fact the love was too insta for my liking, and the interesting concept was something in addition to an element I wasn’t crazy about. Of course, this is just my view and I am finding it harder and harder to be amazed by young adult fantasy. I’m no longer sucked into the whole instalove thing and much prefer the development of Anna Bloom’s adult and new adult stories.

Overall, an interesting read, but not my favourite from the author.

Magic, mystery and an endless love.

A 4.5 stars from me 😍

A miraculous story, hooked me from the start and took my on a journey i haven't been on before.
I was so intrigued with how the story was going to unfold, chapter after chapter had me captivated.

Mae and Tristan are wonderful characters, i loved them both from start.
They are not ordinary teenagers with a normal story. Their bond is remarkably strong. A twist at the end i was not expecting and ended on a OMG moment.

Their story has only just began and i have a feeling its gonna get even more epic. i dont want this magical journey to end.

I am so excited for the next book.
Anna is a remarkable writer.

Loved this! Right from the start, as American orphan Mae is being taken to the mysterious Fire Stone school in the Highlands of Scotland I was intrigued as to where this story would lead.

“Welcome to Fire Stone. Weird shit always happens here.”

The characters are all well written, and the instant and unfounded dislike between Tristan and Mae further intrigued me. There are dreams/visions of a distant past, and some ancient stones all adding up to a fabulous story. I'm looking forward to more in the next book.

This book is incredible. I am a huge fan of all of Anna Bloom's work but this story exceeded my already high expectations in every way.

I adore Mae and Tristan. I was fascinated from the very beginning with their personalities and the relationship they had. The magic and mystery surrounding the pair of them never stopped and I remained intrigued throughout - wondering what is happening and what will happen next. I enjoyed this story so much that I didn't want to put my kindle down!

A definite must read and I cannot wait for more of this fabulous story.

Anna takes us back in time with a story that keeps you on your toes and eagerly turning the pages to find out what happens next
