Although aimed at young adults this fast-paced book would appeal to older readers, too, as it did to me. It is beautifully written and well-researched, providing a good introduction to martial arts and to the culture and landscape of its setting. The storyline is exciting and grips the reader, and the clever use of italics to reveal the thoughts and reflections of the main characters adds depth and interest to it. It would make an exciting film! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a book for teenagers/young adults w but although I am sadly past that age, I still found it really interesting and exciting.
The action is fast paced and follows the simultaneous stories of several characters.
I would definitely recommend it for any age group and look forward to reading a sequel if there is one.
