Good book. Nice information. A good reference for quick use. Bought after reading a recommendation for it inn the tight wad gazette.

I love the idea behind this cookbook. It's organized by specific foods (and has an extensive index), and under each food heading it lists multiple ways to use up leftover or surplus quantities of that particular food. It gives general suggestions, as well as a few recipes under most headings. Have some leftover canned pineapple? There is a section for that. Zucchini producing way too much zucchini? There is a section for that, too.

Because it is an older cookbook, there are recipes calling for ingredients modern health-conscious cooks would eschew (like canned soups), and there are an excessive number of vegetables-in-gelatin suggestions (any number of vegetables-in-gelatin recipes would seem excessive to me). But, there are still lots of great ideas I'm looking forward to trying out next time I have hard to use leftovers in my fridge.

A useful reference. The discussion is heartfelt and genuine. The ideas and recipes do provide a helpful guide.
