What if all those 'Paul-is-Dead' rumors were true? A journalist stumbles on this extraordinary conspiracy during 1980 just as Lennon is about to go public, while flashback chapters reveal the Beatles' clandestine activities following Paul McCartney's fatal accident in 1966.
I kinda enjoyed this book. I hoped the whole way through that Dan would save John so was disappointed by the end! I liked the use of song lyrics. But the Beatles themselves seemed totally unlike what I’d imagine them to be . Musical detail is specific ie equipment etc so it’s well researched . So all up a strange book that I couldn’t give a high score to.
Interesting take on the “Paul is dead” idea. Pretty entertaining but the end is terrible and totally unsatisfying given all the build up about the Charm Company.
Since it was clearly written as purely fiction, stemming from silly rumours I cannot deny it was well written and I read it like a thriller ... the only way it should be read. Only crazy people would actually believe the Paul is dead rumor, so I did find this an intriguing and well written story. I kinda hoped he would have fictionalized the ending as well... but that might have been pushing it :)
