Marjorie the Witch #1

A Witch's Revenge: The Return

Rate this book
“She’s free.” The witches gazed down at the hole in the ground as if some monster had been unleashed. Joan drew her knitted shawl closer to her frail shoulders. “Do you think she’ll come after us?”

Jim Taylor looked out into the storm. A lightning bolt lit up the yard. There, just outside the window, stood a young woman. It was only the start of the nightmare his life would become. Murder, witchcraft, spells, and the fight against evil, would an integral part of the young architect’s life. The spell, cast in Salem before the witch trials, had finally been broken.

A Witch's Revenge: The Return

This was actually a great book to just escape into. A witch crossing time to seek revenge, has always been a favourite tale of mine. I enjoy Clark Graham's twist on this story. Perfect for reading on a rainy afternoon.

Great Book

I liked the story plot. The characters were great. I would never have guessed the outcome from the way it began. The saying is true never judge a book by the cover.

A strange, naked woman appearing at a guy’s front door. Who was she? Where did she come from? And why did she seem so confused?

It turns out that she’s from 1691 and was locked away in a box by her stepmother and stepsister. Marjorie was a witch that had to battle with her step family. Now she has to make sure that they die.

With Jim’s help, she must assimilate to the present, find the old witches, and plot her revenge. The problem is that you can’t just kill them. There are laws against that, and Jim doesn’t want Marjorie to end up in jail. Meanwhile, the rest of the town is curious of the newcomer and aims to get to the bottom of who she is. Could this turn into a witch hunt? Well, it definitely becomes a war of the witches because Marjorie must seek justice for the people killed by the old witches. After all, it takes a witch to take care of a witch.

Simple story and an intriguing mystery. A good read!

A fast read

It was very poorly written. A lot of the dialog is repeatedly for no reason. This makes you question the entire book. It's almost like a fan fiction and could have given more details about Jim and why he just accepts this time traveling girl to just love there and also just let's Carol move in. A lot just doesn't make sense.

This was a unique witch cozy. I found some of it difficult to read. Not because of the plot, but some issues that involve a 17 year old, who had been buried under an oak tree for 336 years. This is a clean read. Only because of the premise that to retain the powers, she must stay pure. This book hit me the wrong way. I don't think it will be that way for most other readers.

OK read

While the storyline is quite interesting and the characters work well the actual writing style is very stilted and pedestrian almost as if you are reading a description rather than a story which slows down the flow of the book considerably, which is the reason for the three stars, Baz

Different

Writing was a little on the juvenile side and didn't flow well. The plot was a little confusing and the characters were not well defined. Can't believe I read the whole thing.

I enjoyed it.

Quick paced. Interesting plot. Good characters. And this review needs fourteen more words to be accepted, why are 20 words necessary?

Loved it. Hope Jim pops the question to Carol. Hope Marjorie enjoys driving to California. I enjoyed the drive from Oregon through olive orchards my husband and I did several years ago.

A good read.
I found this book to be a good readable experience.
The plot was good, although there were a couple of loose ends that could have been developed.
I am sure that the following books will develop and the author will become better.
All in all, I enjoyed this book
