Elements of Twilight #1

Blood Moon Magic

The shifters are dying

And it's up to me to save them
even if it means going to extremes.

I'm the future alpha.
Duty is the code I live by.

And now it’s time to make a choice.
Crossbreed or die.

I agreed to the Claiming ceremony
but under my own terms.

With an insatiable hunger,
My raging wolf has ideas of her own.

And Five, sexy, dragons mates are what she craves.
All five are delicious and irresistible.

Why choose one mate
When all five make me yearn for more?

After all, the fate of the race lies in my hands,
And I plan to keep those hands very busy.

I'm Isobelle, a writer from Northern Virginia. I've been reading and writing for as long as I can remember. However, it wasn't until I crossed in that magical world known as my 30's that I shook off the last vestiges of fear and dove head first into my writing career. I started writing in September 2018 and fell in love. I hope you enjoy my stories because I pour a piece of myself into every page. I started this journey as a passion project, and to prove myself right.. Everyone deserves to live out there dreams. When not writing I'm also a fan of cooking, musical theatre and spoiling my dog. I love reverse harem, dark paranormal, urban fantasy and fantasy. I listen to my muse and write what she gives me.

My fondest wish is to write for all sorts of different people. I want to be very inclusive in my writing because I feel like there's a place for that. I think that everybody should be able to pick up a book and find somebody they identify with. I want to write characters that are real, even if they're in a fantastical world. Which means, touching on subjects that might be disturbing to some, but is a way of life to others. Life isn't all rainbows and lollipops. We have to go through a storm once in a while. That's what makes the reward sweeter!

Let's start off by saying this is a new author for us and we really enjoyed our first read by them.I have to say that although I have read some Reverse Harem books in the past I have never read one in the paranormal gene, but, I am really glad I choose this book to venture there. We really loved that this was a werewolf clan of alpha shifters that were mostly women who were interbreeding with other clans like the dragons and choosing them for their mates. What will there children be like? The Alpha clans are trying to save their clan from extinction and perhaps this is the way.

I loved the story from beginning to end and we loved all the characters they were totally awesome .Abby had choosen some smokin hot sexy dragon mates like Shaun,Kaleb,Justin,Marcus,Kaden who were all different and each one of them carried a unique magic element that made them even more special.Marcus had to be my favorite though as he had my mouth watering the entire story with his food porn lol  but, we loved them all.

The story had a great plot had tons of drama and a really touching love story. We loved that Abby's men courted her for months and were getting to know her and falling in love and also connecting and bonding with her all the while taking care of her sexual needs without actually having sex. Omg ! their were so many fun sexy scenes that made us laugh out loud. Can you just imagine 5 sexy hot sexy dragons tauting a women's lady parts for months on end ? lol

We loved Abby she was known as her Clans Alpha second in command to her mother the head Alpha and she was well loved and respected and had some amazing friends like Chey and Cara who knew to party and have a good time as well as having some really fun girls nights which brought us tons of laughs every time these women got together.

The story was one hot read and the chemistry between Abby and her 5 dragons made for some really hot sexy scenes. This story was awesome in our book and really engaging right from the onset of the set of the story and we were still engrossed in it to the very end.We loved the mystery and the magic that the story wrought as well as all the twists and turns the story took and learning that the people all around Abby were betraying her trust time and time again.By the end of the story so many secrets kept coming to light and we were finding out that their is someone or someones that are still out their wanting to hurt Abby and perhaps her clan.Something sinister is definitely in the wind but, time will tell as the story ended on a bit of a cliffhanger and Abby's story is not over just yet and we can't wait to see what happens next.

I will say that this new debut author did and amazing job with creating this engrossing tale for us to love and she defiantly made us fall in love with the characters she created for us .

A job Well done !

Recommended read to all!

description
I love reverse harem books. Blood Moon Magic is a prime example of what I love about them. I love the connection between every member of the relationship. How they each bring something unique to the relationship and are appreciated for it. I love how they all work together to make the relationship a success and there is an abundance of love and support. It doesn't hurt that these books are always super hot and steamy either.

This story kept things going at a great pace and had me hooked every moment of reading. I loved all the main characters and quite a few of the secondary. There are bad guys to dislike and some of them are really bad. Some have a change of heart and turn out to not be as bad or are a product of their horrible upbringing. But all of it makes for a great story that I devoured every available moment I had.

This author is new to me. Having read the blurb I knew that I had to read it and Im so glad that I did.
This book has all requirements that are needed in a reverse harem read...

Multiple individual hawt dudes✔️
A kick ass heroine who is sassy enough to keep her boys in their toes ✔️
Peril ✔️
Heart ache ✔️

What I was not expecting was the fantastic 'almost slow burn...but not' that the author created, that not only raises the chemistry between Abigail and her guys but also enabled a wonderful development of connection between them.

This emotional connection was well constructed and an absolute pleasure to read..... What really knocked my socks off was the brilliant underlying story.

That was not only a gripping and intriguing paranormal romp of epic proportions but an emotion filled read with heart ache and pain... both physical and emotional...fresh and old... #NoSpoilers... although at times being a light and fluffy read with moments of true humour...this is so much more, it's also dark and twisty....consider yourself trigger warned.

I absolutely loved the way the author allowed us to gain insight and perspective into each of her characters with their individual chapters. Not only did it bring further dimension to the book with off shoot story arcs but also enabled the characters to develop beyond more that what they first appeared.

After reading this book, I suffered the mother of book hangovers... left with so many part answers, questions and shock at that fantastically dramatic ending.
BRAVO AUTHOR...I'm HOOKED... I cannot wait to see how the author continues with this series and it's many branching story arcs.
I'm excited to read more.

Blood moon ceremony…Amazingly well written story of a young woman who is next in line to be the Alpha of her wolf pack. She is then claimed by 5 seriously hot Dragons. With the pack populations dwindling, people are anxious to see what comes from this Blood Moon ceremony. Through in some jealous other clans, parental lies, some super intimate times and BAM! great book. Steam 10/10/ * Sweet 10/10 * Alt 1st POV * RH * Cliffhanger

OHMYGOD did this book drag on tempting me so badly to DNF it and move on. It's like the book was trying to be hollow as it can be in many pages it can have. Damn it could have been a two stars read just fine if it been concise enough.

Firstly I will like to mention the plot had potential. Witch magic and shifters, powerful elements that should have added twice the amount of rich content in a story. FMC is a wolf shifter but the guys are dragon shifters so a variety in shifter action.

I think the book packs on a lot more than what's enjoyable. There is so much going on that it doesn't do any of it right and everything is eclipsed with the amount of sexual content thrown in. They don't even actually bang till the end chapter and by that time I was skimming those scenes, there is only so much of smut you can read and not get bored. I was just fed up of the lusting and wanted to focus on more concrete things for the progression towards the main plot.

The trigger warnings in the blurb is also very real. There is good chunk of subplot focus on a kidnapping scene that involves torture and sexual abuse. A graphic scene is involved where we read through the side character's POV when the abuse is taking place. To read that and then have that meager two second fight scene in the end with the FMC and the asshole alpha just leaves it so unsatisfactory.

The characters despite the many pages stayed shallow and so lifeless like damn how is that possible? Abby for once was fine but her guys were disappointing. There was no depth, nothing beyond a paper thin personality in any of the FIVE guys. There were the blandest bunch of dragons for a harem. The relationship development is nothing but insta-lusting that doesn't even have content to translate into the I-love-you's that take place towards the end.

Everything about this story was secondary to the lusting. Inner monologues, dialogues, mundane scenes, important scenes.. everything was undermined by the horniness. All of that for a book that was too long made for a very tedious reading session.

This was a great, powerful and very steamy book and I enjoyed it immensely. Every single page. I have to put a warning label though: This is not for sensitive readers, as there are some heavy violent uncensored scenes in this book, as well as explicit steamy scenes with multiple partners. Also a warning for cliffhanger haters, the book ends on a really good one.
I have no idea where to start admiring this author's work. First of all, her writing is impeccable, the plot she created is intriguing, solid and original, the characters are well developed, and the world is well built. On top of that, the author gives a raw, uncensored depiction of violence, sex, emotions, and everything that goes on in various kinds of relationships. She does not shy away from vividly describing misogyny, domestic abuse, and plain sadistic torture and trauma they cause in survivors. The author clearly defines the differences between consensual sex and sadistic abuse, and I applaud her for it. There is no possibility for any reader to confuse the two. Some of the scenes are so vivid and difficult to read, as opposed to the others which are as equally vivid, as they are steamy and wonderful to read.
The characters are wonderfully developed and defined, even the ones you just can't help but hate from the start. There is hardly any black and white about the characters, but mostly in between, apart from maybe two or three characters which are clearly defined as all good or all bad. Mostly there is good and bad in everyone, and whichever prevails, depends on their personal agenda. There are so many secrets, so many misguided actions, fear, betrayal, and then there is so much love, loyalty, self-sacrifice, atonement. The book is simply brimming with emotions.
The main character is Abby, a daughter of the pack alpha and the future alpha of the female shifter pack, which breaks from the traditional patriarchal structure. She is strong and powerful, determined and loyal, loving and caring, and ruthless when she needs to be. The rest of the characters are incredibly interesting as well, which is emphasised by the way the author gradually reveals their characters, their pasts and their secrets. These secrets form the best part of the plot as they cause the unexpected twists and turns in reader's perception of the events.
So plot that starts as something usual and expected, gradually grown into a completely original and unexpected story that leaves the reader breathless. So much happens in this story, I loved every page of it. And did I mention how steamy the story is? This is definitely one of the steamiest stories out there. And definitely one of the most interesting stories as well. Amazing debut. I seriously can't wait for the next book.

5 Cranky Stars

I AM GIVING THIS STORY 5 STARS. It is a little different than most werewolf tales. It also is not suitable for young adults due to the detailed sexual situations. The story is well written and the characters are likeable.

Megan is the Alpha of a clan of werewolves that are mostly women. The whole Were world is in danger of disappearing due to the constant drain on their powers by the Council of Elders. Megan’s daughter Abigail is the hope of the whole Race, but she must be claimed and bonded by the end of her 25th year. That is approaching quickly. There are no wolf tribes that will mate with a female Alpha and Abigail is exactly that. At the last minute a deal is made with the Wyvern (dragon) Clan. The men of that clan include the son of the clan chief who is also an Alpha.

Once the claiming is set up, the candidates meet at the claiming ceremony and history is changed forever. Abigail claims 5, her best friend claims 4 and most of the others claim 2. In previous years, these ceremonies have resulted in no claims. Now, if everything goes right, the bonding will occur over the next 2 months and the Blood Moon Ceremony will seal the mating. Of course if everything went right, there would be no story so you’ll have to read the book. It left me wanting more and it sounds like there will be a book 2.

Summary:
The FMC Abby is future alpha of her pack. Her mom has been keeping secrets about what she truly is and who her father is from her. Abby has recently turned 25 and reaches her maturity which means it is time for her to Claim a mate or mates. When dragon shifters become the only option, she reluctantly agrees. She ends up with more mates than she expected and each find a way to tear down her walls and find a place in her bed and her heart. A rival pack is convinced that they deserved to be mates to Abby and the other females in her pack instead of the dragons. They hatch a plan to kidnap and force a bonding with Abby and her pack mates. Meanwhile, the governing body over all shifter packs is led by a maniacal witch who plans to steal the magic created by the bonding of the new mates and use it for her own self-serving scheme. Abby must overcome the challenges of having new mates, the betrayal of hidden secrets, and the rival pack and evil witch to become the leader she is destined to be.

This book is the first in its series and does a fantastic job of building the characters’ personalities and the worlds in which they live. I loved the depth of the writing! There are intense emotions, steamy sex scenes, and suspense galore for readers to get wrapped up in. Blood Moon Magic does a great job laying down the storyline for what is sure to be an exciting and action packed series. War is coming and this book left me yearning for the second book!

Blood Moon Magic is a plethora of magic and romance. Abigail knows she is the next alpha, she also knows she is destined for greatness. What she doesn't know is the secrets that have been kept from her. Most of her life is a lie, but she soon realizes that she has allies in the most unlikely places.

Abby is everything I expect from a wolf alpha. She is strong, brave, sassy, and a bad ass. When she goes to meet her potential mates, she finds way more than she bargained for. Each one of her mates has their own personality and are so lovable. You fall in love with each one, no matter how much you fight it. Much like Abby. She fights it so hard, but soon learns she may need all them.

The secrets, the magic, the revelations all kept me hooked. I loved Isobelle Carmichael's take on PNR. It is different and original, and so enjoyable. I can't wait to get lost in the next one! I'm dying for more of Abby and her men!

Wow! I've volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. It's so well written and you are completely drawn into the story. Abby is a strong alpha to be and must choose to mate. She is then claimed by 5 seriously hot Dragons. This is the first book from this author and I was impressed! I look forward to more and to seeing what else her mind can come up with! I can't wait to see what else Isobelle brings to life. Keep up the WOW work! Highly recommend this book.

REVIEW BY CHANTELLE

5 Hunky Dragons! Need I say more?

I wanted to read this book because it had five hunky dragons. I kept reading because there was so much more. There is preparation for the Blood Moon ceremony, competition from the rival clan the Death Claws, and tension with the ruling Elders. The story is multi layered. While Abby and her dragons are getting to know each other they are researching the Blood Moon ceremony. Each dragon has special gifts. I love that Abby is able to help them develop their talents. She helps Marcus realize his part in their group. His ability to share others pain is amazing. She enjoys the twins, Kaden and Kaleb. They are funny. Justin is nerdy and strong. Shaun is a warrior. He is Alpha in his clan, but he is Beta to Abby’s Alpha. They all grow stronger as they bond.

Even though there is sex and violence it isn't just about that. Each scene is an important part of the whole story. It does end rather abruptly. There is much more to this saga. I want to read the next part as soon as possible.

I started this book and never set it down until I finished it. Phew! What an adventure, and there’s more to come. There are so many twists and turns in this story; some are revealed at the end of the book and some aren’t, forcing me to wait on the mystery.

Abby is an alpha wolf shifter, daughter to her mother, the alpha of her pack. Her mother has purposely misled Abby as to the true nature of her birth and her father. Why? The High Priestess of the Elders thinks Abby’s powers will elevate her to a god-plane, but will she?

Abby claims five dragon shifter mates in a claiming ceremony, and she comes to love all of them. The men have elemental powers that will mesh with hers and together will they either free the dying packs from the rule of the Elders or will they destroy them all? I loved this imaginative and truly unique reverse harem story. Highly recommended.

Witches, wolves, dragons, OH MY!  Blood Moon Magic is a shifter tale that is unlike any I have read so far. There is drama and strong kicka** women, and lots of sex…. well lots of sex without out actually having sex, let’s just say this book is sexy hot and has nothing to do with the dragon’s fire.  Blood Moon Magic is not a quick read but is so worth the time you will spend reading it.  It does leave off on a cliff hanger making you wonder if the heroine Abby is as gone as she appears to be.  Blood Moon Magic by Isobelle Carmichael is worth all 5 magical stars.
With shifters that are dying out because the Elders are taking their powers the shifters are having to resort back to a practice they haven’t done in ages, cross breeding.  Now a strong female dominate wolf pack needs to find a group to have the Claiming ceremony with and the only group strong enough to take on these powerful women is a clan of dragon shifters.  When Abby the next alpha, finds that her wolf has claimed not one but five dragons, she’s not quite sure how to handle the overwhelming amount of testosterone.   Now with another pack out against them, the Elders secretly working to steal their magic Abby and her dragons must figure out a way to save her life and the life of her pack during the Blood Moon ceremony.

This book is incredible. It’s fun, it’s dark, it’s light, it’s involving. The characters will get you in their grasp and you won’t want to let them go. We have real, flawed people (well, shifters) who go through a lot and come out of it together. The plot keeps thickening and you just can’t stop reading until you find those answers.
There’s a really strong dynamics between the characters, one you can see that makes them bring the best out of each other. Be it between possible romantic pairings or mates. Every interaction is well thought at and everything just makes sense.
I honestly think this is an amazing beginning to a series and I cannot wait for the next one.

Holy fu** this was a helluva ride. Once I started I couldn't stop. So yet another night has gone by reading and I'm writing a review at 7am.

Damn I want five dragon shifters of my own. This book was scorching hot. I need an ice bath, chocolate and some dragons. I can even live with the cliffhanger. The last part of the book ruined my underwear and it had me sitting on the edge of my seat full of nervous energy. I have no idea how I'm going to sleep now or how I'll recover from the book hangover.

Anyone that loves a medium/fast burn paranormal romance should immediately one click this book. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

I enjoyed this book. It has a lot of steam and fun. The world building was intriguing with some different aspects to that world that I had not seen before. Abby was definitely a strong heroine, accepted her future. As her claimed mates, Shaun, Marcus, Justin, Kaleb, and Kaden, taught her more about herself, she realized there was more to her life. Deception, surprises, danger, and family kept me wanting to read more.

I received an ARC through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.

In Blood Moon Magic the shift race is dying and it's very important that Abby, the next Alpha of her wolf pack, to find her mate or mates to help save them. This is an RH novel with a really strong FMC, and five interesting, sexy men! I really enjoyed this book! The world Isobelle created really drew me in. The characters all have relatable moments and I wish I could live with them! There are a few twists and turns and you are kept guessing with each chapter. I couldn't put this book down and I cannot wait for the next one!

Great new storyline

I choose this rating because:

*New twist on a PRN storyline
*Interesting and varied characters
*Fast burn but written well
*Fantastic flow of writing
*The story and characters kept me interested and reading!

This a great book from a debut author and I'm looking forward to reading more by her!

***The book warns of darker themed moments. However, I'm NOT a reader of dark material, and while this book was not to much for me, it was borderline. Please read the warning before reading! 💚

4.5 bloody moons

The characters are witty and I absolutely loved seeing things from all of their perspectives giving me insight into their motivations and fears. The storyline kept me on my toes never knowing what was gonna happen next. I couldn’t put it down I was addicted and needed more. The characters vulnerabilities drew me to them and never let me go. The passion they shared lit a fire beneath my skin that never went out. The building of their relationships felt natural and the details were amazing.

Abby is the next Alpha of her pack and she needs to crossbreed and she chooses not one, not two but five dragon shifters aa her mates and that makes this one freaking hot read.
I need the next one as soon as possible

Strong female shifters

I love this book and that the women are strong and don’t really need men to protect them. Wolves n dragons go good together. Abby got the best of the best and I can’t wait to see where this story goes next. Great work a must read for shifter Rh fans.
