Nothing But Wild

Dallas Van Zant…
Water polo god.
Shameless flirt.
Beautiful disaster in the most literal sense of that label.

Trust me, it’s not hyperbole. He’s in big trouble with the law.

What does this have to do with me, you ask? Unfortunately, a lot. For some reason, which I still can’t quite wrap my brain around, I’ve been talked into driving him around as part of his plea deal.

Problem is, he makes me nervous. I’m not good with people, men in particular, popular athletes especially. I’ve worked really hard to get my disability under control and one minute in his company and all my hard work flies out the window.

To top it all off, I promised myself that I was going to make some serious changes this year. I’m tired of feeling awkward around boys. I’m tired of never having had a boyfriend. I’m tired of being lonely. And he’s wrecking my plans.

But I’m also not the type to turn away a person in need. So I’ll do what I must to help him out.

I’ll just pretend that I’m not enjoying his company. And I’ll ignore the fact that he’s sweet and funny. And I’ll tell myself every day that he’s out of my league.

Because I’m as inexperienced as they come. And Dallas Van Zant is nothing but wild.

Dallas makes an awesome book boyfriend!

I had some real issues at the beginning of this book, but after about 20% it was much better and I really ended up enjoying the story and the characters. This story was about a sweet girl named Dora Ramos who has a lot of insecurities but is crushing on the hottest guy at her college. His name is Dallas Van Zant and he is the best player on the water polo team and quite a player with the ladies as well.

My main problem with the beginning of this book is that Dora’s inner commentary lets us know that she considers herself overweight and that is her main insecurity. It is drilled into the reader over and over with commentary about food, diet, weight and how she thinks about herself. In one single chapter she says things like how she ran away faster than she jumps on a doughnut, how she failed to cram her booty into a Winnie the Pooh costume, how asking if she wants a boyfriend is like asking is she wants a Twinkie, how she will never turn down an iced latte, and how no California men want her “meat” as opposed to the bone of thinner girls.

I know that the BBW is all the trend in books recently, but you don’t have to go on and on about it. We get it already after the first comment. I personally think that the fact that she has a stutter could have been what she was insecure about, not the weight issue. She hardly seemed insecure about the stutter though. I wish books would just not mention the weight of the woman at all, like it is a non-issue whether the heroine is thin or fat.

After all the background information was given and Dora and Dallas started interacting with each other, the weight issue wasn’t mentioned as much so I was able to start enjoying the story more. There were a lot of supporting characters though and for me it was a bit hard to keep track of who was who. The reason being that all the guys (Friends and teammates of Dallas) have more than one name. They have their first name, last name and a nickname. One time he would refer to one by their last name, the next by their nickname and then again by the first name. I think his best friend was referred to as Rea, Reagan, Reynolds, and Cap.

The same with the girls, all the girls called each other by first name and Dora had a friend Alice Bailey, so they kept calling her Alice and Dallas kept calling her Bailey. I had to go back to the beginning where her full name was mentioned to see which of her friends he was talking about. Though I realize this is how it works in real life. Guys do often call people by the first name sometimes and last name another time as well as using nicknames a lot. Once I got all the friends straight it wasn’t an issue.

The romance between Dallas and Dora was slow to develop, they became friends first. I really like the character of Dallas. He was attracted to Dora very early on and his point of view was particularly good as he fell for her more and more. Dora saw Dallas as her dream man that she could never have as a boyfriend because her insecurities wouldn’t let her think that he might want her that way.

Though as Dora gets to know Dallas more, she sees what a great guy he is. Not just a beautiful player without depth. There are some storylines about each of their families and things that happened in the past and it all is brought together nicely. There are several steamy scenes that are terrific and in the end, I really want Dallas as a boyfriend! 😉 I ended up really liking the story and though I will take away one star for the issues I discussed, I still give this book 4 stars overall.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Nothing But Wild is a wonderful and heartfelt friends to lovers romance. D & D aka Dora and Dallas made me smile from ear to ear. At first sight these two seemed incompatible but turned out to be highly compatible. Both struggled with finding themselves and together they ended up finding solace, a beautiful friendship and a strong love in one another.

Their first meeting is a memorable one for both of them. A drunken kiss.
Dora is an insecure and inexperienced woman but outspoken and honest when needed to be. Dallas the popular waterpolo guy, who didn’t let many in his heart and wore a mask in front of everyone finally felt seen all thanks to Dora.
Their blooming and evolving friendship, which included a list, turned out to be quite the journey for Dora and Dallas.

I enjoyed seeing the different sides of Dallas. He truly was a vulnerable soul with so many layers and so much heart. Dora was just the kindest woman who wanted to experience as much as possible and thankfully Dallas wanted to help her. Their relationship turned out to be the most important thing that ever happened to the both of them. I had such a good time not only with Dallas and Dora but with entire ensemble of the Malibu University series. I’m ready for the next book. Whether it’s Brock or Cole I don’t care. I just need more. This series is addictive.

For most of her life, Dora Ramos has done her best to blend into the woodwork. Now a junior in college and suddenly sharing a dorm suite with 3 outgoing roommates, Dora finds herself wanting more than to just be the quiet girl in the corner. Her fascination with Dallas Van Zant, water polo god and collector of one night stands, isn’t helping things. She can’t help but feel like a bumbling fangirl every time she’s around him. Still, when she gets her chance at a kiss with a drunk Dallas, she takes it.

Dallas can’t remember much about the Halloween party where he passed out drunk in a bathtub, but he sure as hell remembers being kissed by a sexy cat. When he figures out the sexy cat is actually the shy redhead from one of his classes, he can’t help but start to needle her a little bit. What starts out as friendly teasing soon turns into a slow burn friendship that’s hard to resist.

I’m not deluding myself that Dallas is going to magically wake up and recognize me as the bun to his hotdog, the this to his that. He’s a beautiful distraction. Nothing more.

I sound like a broken record at this point, but I look forward to a new P. Dangelico book like no other author. She speaks my book language and I always know I’m going to get an entertaining and unputdownable read. Nothing But Wild was no exception. After reading the first book of the series, I wasn’t sure how Dora and Dallas were going to work. They're both so different in temperament and behavior that I wasn’t sure their relationship would fit. As the story moves along and Dora takes steps to take control of her life, Dallas simultaneously starts making his own changes, not that he realizes he’s doing it, mind you. By the end, I couldn’t imagine these two characters apart.

There’s an actual physical reaction that happens when Dallas touches me. A transformation. I become a better version of me. Uninhibited. Unapologetic. Everything I admire in him. And safe. He makes me feel safe enough to be me.

Against all odds, I absolutely adored Dallas and Dora together. Nothing But Wild is a fabulous story about taking control of your life while still managing to remain true to yourself, as well as asking for what you need from those around you. P. Dangelico’s Malibu University series continues to be an NA favorite of mine.

Dora and Dallas couldn't have been more different if they tried. Dora Ramos is a quiet volunteer at an animal shelter. She comes from a very supportive family of two fathers who taught her unconditional love. Dallas Van Zant is a madly attractive, rich as croesus, wild, wild water polo god whose parents went through a bitter divorce and taught him that love has to be earned. And yet, it is Dallas Dora has a long term crush on, and it is Dallas Dora kisses at a sorority party. What? Kisses? A sorority party? her roommates would be speechless if they ever found out that she gave in to her cousin's pleas, got herself a sexy costume of Catwoman and, worst of all, stumbled on the object of her wild desires, drunk and lonely, and even shared a passionate kiss with him. Luckily, Dallas won't be able to recognise her when he sees her again in class. Or will he?
The events of second part of the Malibu University series happen at the same time as the events of the first book, Nothing but Trouble, and we see a few scenes that focused on the development of Alice and Reagan's relationship with a different pair of eyes. Or rather two pairs of eyes, because this is also a dual POV book. I already loved Dora, so I was very happy to read her story. Dallas...well, I needed some convincing, but P.Dangelico did a marvellous job of making the readers see beyond the pretty face of this golden boy.
What I loved about Dora was her quiet strength and determination, the way she doesn't let her speech impediment stop her from expressing herself, the way she never loses her faith in her relationship. I'm not a big fan of insta-love, so I was glad to see that Dora and Dallas take plenty of time to get to know each other working in the shelter before their friendship becomes something more. Another thing that I never get tired of in YA and NA novels is showing the importance of consent. You might say, well, this book is primarily going to be read by female readers, but you need to clearly understand what is right.
This series keeps getting better and I am already looking forward to reading Zoe and Brock's story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the review copy provided in exchange for an honest opinion.

Dora Ramos is almost 21, and a college student in California who attends Malibu University. She’s always been the good girl, rule follower, and focused on her academics. She’s tired of disappearing into the background, and wants to be noticed. She feels like she’s missing out, and is done waiting on the sidelines for life to happen. It’s a new year, and she wants to be a new Dora. She’s promised herself she’ll make an effort this year to put herself out there. This includes being social, and going to parties. Maybe even spruce up her wardrobe, and finally have a boyfriend. She has no clue a hot guy is about to enter her universe and throw some chaos and excitement into her life.

Dallas Van Zant is a senior who plays water polo for the Malibu Sharks, and is known as the best driver on the team. He’s also a beautiful disaster. A wild playboy, and a shameless flirt with a huge over the top personality. He’s the life of the party anywhere he goes, but lately he’s struggling with his inner demons, and is spiraling out of control. Suddenly he finds himself in a lot of trouble, and in need of assistance.

 photo 6A35B9EB-06A3-4CB2-B7C9-7AC35A9D6779_zpsodfpoqax.jpg

Dora has been admiring Dallas Van Zant from afar since she started college, and first laid eyes on him. He’s absolutely gorgeous, but also unattainable and so out of her league. Looking at this delicious man is her one guilty pleasure. Then circumstances have her spending time with her fantasy crush. She’s driving Dallas around, and being in close proximity to all that temptation flusters her.

Dallas is slowly getting to know Dora, and even though they are complete opposites in every way, he’s intrigued with the stunning redhead. He likes being around her, and doesn’t have to pretend with her. He can just be himself. Soon she’s the girl who is starring in all his fantasies, and he’s craving more than friendship.

-I could study him for decades and still discover more to like.

-The all encompassing awareness my body has for his overrides everything else. Overwhelms me until all my senses are consumed by him.

-I feel tethered to him in ways I know are unique and special and meant to be treasured.

Nothing But Wild (Malibu University Series #2) by P. Dangelico is a sexy, slow burn sports romance packed with chemistry, and amazing connections. I have been dying for more of Dallas since we met him in the first book in the series. He’s positively dreamy in this story. He has so much more depth and emotion to him than I realized. He’s more than the fun guy, and a pretty face. His heart and way he loves is beautiful. I loved this book so much!!!

I have been waiting for Dallas’s book for awhile, and all I can say is HE IS MINE!

From past books, we have seen Dallas be goofy, a playboy, and lack emotions about living on the wild side. It’s not that he thinks consequences don’t apply to him, it’s just that he doesn’t care. He is just living his life going through the motions and hiding his true self.

From the first page of this book, you will realize his personality is his cover. Deep down he is smart, thoughtful, and wanting someone to see past the version he portrays.

Dora was such a breathe of fresh air! Her backbone, spunk, overall goodness made her the perfect girl for Dallas. She didn’t care who he was, didn’t try to hide her stuttering from him, and didn’t try to make him someone he wasn’t.

This slow burn had it all...realistic journey, struggles, and love. I also loved how it took place at the same time as Nothing But Trouble. Seeing what was happening with the group while the events of that book took place, showed the fantastic dynamic of this tight knit group.

I honestly cannot wait for the future books. The brothers have me so intrigued!

***4 "Kitten!!!" stars***

And it came the time for D&D's story to be delivered!!!
And what a wonderful and heartwelming story it was!!!
It's not a secret that I'm enjoying very much P.Dangelico's stories, and there is no exception...
After Nothing but trouble, i was wishing for Dallas and Dora's story! And here, it is!!!
Of course, now i can not wait for Broke and Zoe or Cole's story, but hey, I'm a human with wicknesses!!! LOL!!!

Well, if you had picked up in the previous book that something was going on with Dallas and Dora, then you were right!!!! But they never gave anything out, even though the story was developing during Reagan and Alice's story as a timeline!!!!
Dora and Dallas couldn't be more opposites, but in a strange way, they were fitting very well together!!!
Of course, the author was torturing us for once again with a slow romance... Becoming firstly friends and then something more, but hell, the ride was worth it!!!!

Everything started with a drunken kiss behind a catwoman costume!!! And then their paths were colliding all the time... Other times were bitter, other times were hillarious and others soooo sweet!!!!
Dora was an insecure girl with a stutter and an awful wardrobe, but she was so kind and beautifully sweet...
Dallas was wild and ... misunderstood in a way!!!!
Those two incompatible people were paired very good as friends and as... more!!! Even though they had their own demons to face...

"I've never felt more alive than when I'm with you."

I loved Dora since the first book!!! She was just a girl that was admiring a God from afar and then this God became reachable and then... everything changed!!!
Dallas was wild, yes, but in here, we found out more about him and his reasons behind his actions!!!
The truth is that insecure Dallas was a very strange thing to witness, but for evething there is a first time. No???
Their relationship??? It was bitter and sweet with its ups and downs...
Two opposite people manage to find solace to each other and that was a wonderful thing to witness!!!

And as i told you above, i can not wait for the next books!!!
I'm dying to read the Peterman brothers's stories!!!!
And Zoe's and Blake's!!! With them maybe??? Or not???
Who cares??? I just want them!!!!

...Today is a good day to live...

Every once in a while I run across a book that has that special sort of magic.

You know the type, right? When the story snakes its way into your heart and gives it a good squeeze. When find yourself reading with breath baited, belly dissolving into butterflies, and a physical ache in your heart that feels just a little bit like you are actually falling in love.

Yep. That. All of that. That's how I felt reading Nothing But Wild.

Holy Hannah, but I loved Dallas and Dora.

By now I've read enough books by P. Dangelico to know that I am going to sink right into the delicious way she tells her stories. And yet, somehow I'm still surprised when I find myself wholly caught up in it, emotionally invested, and held in thrall by the storytelling and the multi-layered characters, and all the ways they make me feel. This, of course, is the best kind of surprise. And it's enough to keep me coming back over and over again.

I loved these two so much. I loved how neither character was perfect in any kind of traditional way, but they were so perfect for each other. I loved that Dora carried such an understated strength, and I completely adored how they took turns holding each other up over the course of the book. Theirs was a true partnership, rooted in friendship and pulsing with passion and...GAH -- the feels! The burn between Dallas and Dora is very slow, yet it's never absent. It fizzes and sparks the entire time as Dora and Dallas banter their way into falling in love. Their chemistry is potent, it kept me on the hook - laughing, aching, swooning and cheering them on.

There were a couple tiny hiccups along the way for me. The timeline skips around some and it occasionally felt jarring (like perhaps I missed something important). I'm also not 100% sure what to make of the ending on this one. I mean, overall I am satisfied and thrilled with it, but the last page left me a little puzzled - again, like I had missed something important.

That said, I still enthusiastically recommend this one. It's the delicious sort of addicting NA angst that I will devour with gusto every single time and then come immediately back for more. That is to say - I absolutely loved this story and cannot wait for the next one! ~ Shelly, 4.5 Stars

I literally could not wait for this book!!!

After falling in love with book one in the Malibu University series, I just KNEW Nothing But Wild was going to be even better. But it wasn’t just better….it was bloody fantastic! This book exceeded any expectations I had. We first meet Dallas and Dora in book one. But this time, they take center stage is this funny, yet emotional, friends-to-lovers romance.

Dallas is the typical, reckless playboy jock who acts like he just doesn’t give a damn. His “do what and who he wants” attitude gives him the wild Lothario reputation everyone sees and expects. And Dora is quite the leading lady herself. Awkward, insecure, but with a compassionate heart of gold, Dora’s nonjudgmental spirit was utterly endearing and makes her completely likable.

Dallas and Dora couldn’t be more opposite if they tried. But their undeniable connection fascinates them both to see beyond what everyone else sees, to truly discover who the other person is deep inside. Their journey together as friends matures into an emotionally vulnerable yet fierce and tenacious relationship of highs and lows, and love and sacrifices. Each character carries their own burdens. But to see how they rely on each other, trust one another with their feelings and insecurities, and accept each other for who they are, is what transforms this story from good to great. And the sexual chemistry they feel is only heightened by the emotional connection they already share, and it explodes off the pages. As diverse as they appear, their personalities are magnetic and blend effortlessly.

I loved this book! Dallas and Dora are a fun and unique couple, and their story captivated me from the very beginning. Nothing But Wild is a slow burn romance with impeccable writing and imagination. I can’t wait for what’s to come in this must-read series!

“He’s a wild one for sure. And he’s also the best man I know. A beautiful boy I had a crush on who’s turned into the man I love.”

I know it’s just January 9th but I can already tell you that this right here is one of my favorite books of the year.

This book was really cute. I loved the characters. I liked these two in ‘Nothing But Trouble’ But I fell in love with them in this book.

Dora is one of cutest female characters I’ve read. She was so sweet and I just couldn’t help but love her. Dallas was better than I expected. I liked him in the previous book too but in this book he proved to be so much more than I thought he was gonna be.

I love that all the books in the series are happening at the same time. In Nothing but Trouble we got some scenes of these two and they kind of left you in a cliffhanger because the main character, of nothing but trouble, would go so you wouldn’t know what happened with the other characters after they've left until you’re finally reading their books.

I also loved that so far all the characters in this series have gone from strangers-to-friends-to-lovers. It’s really cute to see these characters developing a friendship before they start dating.

I can’t wait to read Zoe and Brock’s book! I loved them in Nothing but Trouble and I’m really excited to read their book! I also loved that little Cole/Blake scene 👀.

While I haven't read it yet, well I totally get it and this will be was my visual while I read.

description
You're welcome!

Dallas seems to have the perfect life. He is the heir to a billion dollar brewing fortune, a top athlete, model gorgeous and of course has his pick of coeds. Dora is a whip smart red headed beauty who is barreling into her dream of being a vet. She sees her flaws as being a little too curvy and of course her slight stutter. Dora has always admired (and stared at) Dallas from afar, but an opportunity presents itself and Dora goes for it. After all Dallas won't remember his drunken encounter with Dora, will he? Probably not, right?

I loved these two, especially the incorrigible Dallas. If collegiate sports romance is your jam, I highly recommend this series and this second installment to the Malibu U series.

Amazing !!!

I really enjoyed Dora and Dallas's story. I've been wanting more of Dallas since I read the first book in this series. He is a wild guy that just loves life well girls drink and other things that aren't good for you. So ye Dallas is wild but that life isn't really working for him anymore, it just seem blah. Dallas is a very deep character and has a lot to give and is really intelligent. But no one sees this they just the fun time guy it's a bit of a womanizer. But he isn't that guy he loves hard and is protective of the people he loves. Dora sees that that there were is more to him but she is the only person that sees it. But he is very different to her and has a feeling of she gets close he could hurt her.

Free Image Hosting at FunkyIMG.com

Dora I luv her she is so sweet and caring and not like other girls. She doesn't care about make up, hair or clothes. She just wants to do well in school and avoid drama. But she is starting to get fed up of this perfect girl and wants to start being a bit bad. Now only a bit God she can't let everything go she still needs a bit of order in her life. Maybe kissing the guy she has fancied in a long time might be a good start. Dora would never do a thing like that but Dallas just does something to her that makes her want to be bad just like the guy she wants. The only thing is she knows Dallas will hurt her she isn't the type of girl he goes for. Dora doesn't see how beautiful she really is just cause she's not skinny with perfect hair and make up she thinks Dallas won't like her. Only Dallas thinks she the most gorgeous girl he has ever seen. He finds her red hair and curvy body sexy. I just wish she could see that.

Free Image Hosting at FunkyIMG.com

I really like how different Dora and Dallas are they are chalk and cheese. He is wild she is quiet but they fit so well together they bring out the best in each other. Things aren't easy for them and at times things do get complicated. But being friends and getting to know each other works for them they don't want to wreck what they have but the sexual tension just get to much for each other.

Free Image Hosting at FunkyIMG.com

I would highly recommend this book. This is the second book in the Malibu University series. The first book was really good and this book was just as good. The story flowed really well once I started I couldn't put the book down I was dying to know what was goin to happen between them. I also liked how this book linked in with the first one it just made the book better for me. I'm really looking forward to more from this series Zoe and Blake are great girls what's make this series great as well is that every girl and boy are so different I'm looking forward to Come and Brock's story as well. I really like this authors work her writing and storytelling it just brilliant can't wait to see what's next.

I'm going to start by saying that I absolutely loved Dora and Dallas. I enjoyed their book so much and maybe I'm kinda biased because if I were only focusing on the written part I would give this book only 3 stars.

So... let me explain. I absolutely loved these two and how they teased each other and finally gave in their attraction for each other. I loved how they first started out as friends and we got little hints of how the feeling were growing between the two of them. Dora was so cute and I loved how even when she was adorable she stood up for herself and she didn't let anyone to mess up with her. The girl gang moments were so cute too but I would have like a little bit more bonding between them. Dallas was the absolute best too, he has a good character development throughout the book learning how to trust his feelings.

The thing that didn't settle good with me was that sometimes the chapter were cut and suddenly in the next one a week or even a month has passed and I was kind of confused because there wasn't really a link there and their POVs made a brave summary of that gap there. Also, I would have liked to see Dallas confront his family members after what he went through and, to know what he was studying. We get to know that Dora wants to be a vet and he will work for the family business but we don't know what major he's in. These are a few things that would make the book a 3 stars for me but I loved their interactions so much that I gave in and gave them a higher rating.

Nothing But Wild made me feel nothing but love and acceptance. This slow burn romance lit up my mood, my heart and my day! Not many people do slow burn right like Mariana Zapata and Paola. They are The Slow Burn Queens!!!

Dallas Van Zant is an unattainable beautiful disaster to Dora Ramos. She feels he is way out of his league and has no problem admiring him from a far and staying on the background until she doesn't. One tiny slip up puts her on Dallas's radar and he slowly becomes fixated on her. She is an enigma to him and because of his sometimes erratic behavior, Dora somehow gets stuck with him. They fall into an effortless friendship and becomes each other's anchors. Dallas helps Dora to come out of her shell and experience life and Dora helps Dallas by truly seeing him and being there.

Dallas was such a lovable flirt. He is loyal to a fault and is always there for the people he cares about. People have their misconceptions about him and think of him as just a pretty boy, which he 100% is, but their is so much more to him that only Dora sees. She sees past his armor to the guy who has been hurt and is hiding his pain.

Dora was the underdog in this story but she is the girl who managed to capture the attention of the most beautiful boy on campus.

I can't wait for the rest of the Malibu University series. I'm especially excited for Zoe's story.

***5 ‘Dallas & Dora’ Stars***
Started it.

Couldn’t put it down.

So, basically I devoured this baby in one sitting. I shouldn’t have since I was supposed to be doing that #workthing (or at least putting all of my focus into it and not the book, but *shrugs*) but once I got sucked into the world of Dora and Dallas all was lost and I NEEDED to see how everything played out between them and I wasn’t disappointed. (Well, I was because there were no more words to read ~ but I know that I can’t do much about that). This book was all kinds of sweet, swoon worthy, adorkable goodness that pulled at my heartstrings and had me grinning so much my cheeks hurt.

Dallas and Dora. These two...There is so much to say about these two, but you really have to go into this book blind, well, as blind as possible after reading the blurb because it does a good surface summary of who they are, but going any deeper than that will ruin them for you. So, I will say that I absolutely ADORED them ~ even when I wanted to Gibbs smack them, I adored them. They are complex and have a lot of things they need to work out, but they both have amazing souls. And as for their journey to their HEA...obviously I enjoyed it, but it was a lot of fun as they danced around and towards each other. And though there were some things that I saw coming, I loved how it all worked out for them because they really did complete each other in the best of ways.

I’m going to sound like a broken record, but this was a great read. It does deal with some heavy subjects, but I like how everything was dealt with. As for the secondary cast of characters Zoe, Blake, Reagan, Alice, Brock, Cole and Quinn I loved hanging out with them all again and it was fun to see them through Dallas and Dora’s eyes and I’m quite curious to see who is next up on the chopping block ~ especially since there were quite a few teases as to who may be hooking up with who.

Note: This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend that you read Nothing But Trouble first since there is some overlap in the timelines and could impact your enjoyment of NBT if you haven’t read.

Dallas and Dora's story starts with a drunken kiss. It's a kiss she'll never forget but she's pretty sure he was too drunk to remember. Little does she know, he remembers the kiss, he just doesn't know who kissed him...

Ahhhh Dallas, he was the perfect man....at least it always looks that way from the outside. He has the glossy exterior but internally, he's struggling and about to break apart. Unfortunately, no one is noticing that since he doesn't ask for help. One day he hits rock bottom and somewhat self-destructs. It leads him to some forced changes.

Dora has led a cautious and quiet life. But she's tired of it and has created a checklist of things she wants to do/experience called the "Eff List." She and Dallas form an unlikely friendship when she starts driving him places while he's injured and without a vehicle (after his carwreck). What starts out as a friendship of convenience evolves into something much deeper and before long, Dallas has feelings for Dora that he isn't familiar with. It brings his "caveman" side out which is actually kind of amusing. Unfortunately, Dallas has a hard time trusting things because life has always let him down so he continually expects for Dora to let him down too.

This was a good book about two adults and how they dealt with their insecurities in order to be able to love one another. Even though Dallas doesn't look like the type who'd be insecure at all, he definitely was and at times it could almost cripple him. Dora's insecurities were more visible in her stutter and the way she carried herself. However, over time, she conquered a lot of the struggles that led to those issues for her and it built her confidence even more.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and P.Dangelico for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Nothing But Wild is the second book in P. Dangelico’s Malibu University series, and like the first I devoured this one in a single sitting. After finishing Nothing But Trouble, I was desperate for more of the group I had fallen for. I often find authors make us wait for the favourite characters to get their stories, but such was not the case with this series. Although I am desperate to see how all the stories play out, I was most interested in seeing on Dora and Dallas played out.

I will be honest and say I was a wee bit unsure of this one at first. A lot of the early stuff in this one occurs alongside what happened in Nothing But Trouble, and I’m not crazy when this happens. References to earlier books in a series are fine, but I much prefer it when things stand alone. Fortunately, this changed the deeper into the book I got. Then, when things really got going, I could not put it down.

Nothing But Wild was a book I had to complete in a single sitting. Once I started, I could not stop. I was addicted in the best way possible, sucked into the story, and fell deeper and deeper in love with the characters the more we got to see. I may not be labelling this my favourite P. Dangelico read, but it certainly had me hooked.

I’m now eagerly awaiting book three, as I’m positive it’s going to be another winner.

oh my god

description

I must've looked like I was having a seizure for how much I was cringing through this. I like the shy, awkward girl tames the charismatic, womanizer player trope if it's done the right way, but in this story, Dora was so painfully naive that it literally felt like Dallas was her caretaker. I don't want to read a caretaker fucking the naive child he cares for. NOPE. Not for me. Moving on but not before I clorox my whole brain.

Just give me Blake and Cole's book bc that funeral scene was too cuteeeee

Book 2 in the Malibu U series follows a group of water polo players. This one in particular I've been dying for. Dallas Van Zant and a quiet, stuttering, shy Dora have such a connection, but on the outside you would never think these two would go together as much as they do. I loved these two. One drunken kiss together set the waves of them becoming friends and growing deep feelings for each other. Dallas has this personality who shows to the world, but there is way more to him than he shows, and we get to see it shine with Dora's help. I loved this story, these group of friends and I am sooooo excited for more!!!!!

Am I allowed to start off by saying this cover is a perfect portrayal of Dallas Van Zant and it is seriously hot? I am! Good because it is seriously perfect.

I could tell from the opening pages that Dallas Van Zant was hurting, but that tough and funny playboy exterior comes back quickly. He hides well. Because underneath all that joking and bravado is a man with a huge heart. He’s smart and witty and thoughtful and a little bit lost. I loved Dora Ramos the moment her thoughts hit the page. She’s shy but quirky. I love that she’s trying to step out of her comfort zone. I see parts of my younger self in her. Dallas and Dora are opposites from completely different backgrounds but they worked. Their slow build from friendship to romance was simply charming. I enjoyed their conversations and the time they spent together.

And I need to mention this eclectic group of friends that complement each other so well. Alice, Zoe, Blake, Reagan, Brock and Cole make this book and Nothing but Trouble (book 1 in the Malibu University series) so much more than just a romance.

Nothing but Wild is a sweet mix of fun and heartfelt romance with some serious moments. Love is never easy especially when so many other aspects of life try to get in the way but it is so worth. I have honestly adored both books in the series and really hope to get more.

First of all, I want to say that I finished this book in less than a day and that’s my biggest achievement of the month because I’ve been reading soooo slow lately.⁣
This was so fun and adorable, the story follows Dora and Dallas, if you read the first book you probably knew them there, I didn’t read it and I don’t find it necessary to read this one, but you probably should to understand the characters better.⁣
Since the first interaction with them, I was laughing so hard, both characters are relatable and funny, the plot of the book keeps you hanging, and the pace of the relationship is not too fast, there’s no insta-love, and I love how the author develops both characters before develops their relationship, they’re adorable together as a friend and as a couple.⁣
I’m already putting P. Dangelico in my list to read everything she publishes cause I’ve so much fun with this one, I love the secondary characters and their interactions, I love Dora’s family and how they’re so supportive of her decisions.⁣
In conclusion, I really loved this book and characters and I can’t wait to read how the other couples are going to be and to read more about this group of friends.⁣
The only thing is that I wanted a little more drama; however, I found amazing that the author gave the characters the ability to understand and communicate with each other

5 star Review Nothing But Wild (Malibu University #1) by P Dangelico

P Dangelico is a new author to me and why that is I have absolutely no idea. From start to finish she drew me in and captivated me with this story about Dallas Van Zant and Dora.

The writing was strong and this book was well written with characters that were easy to relate to and ones you couldn’t help but fall for. This is a friends to lovers story that was entertaining to read.

Dallas has gotten himself into trouble and Dora is the one who comes to his rescue. There is so much more to Dallas than what people think and it is that added layer that brought more depth to the story. I really loved Dora, she is funny and such a kind hearted woman. These two are total opposites and yet they really work, together they are an awesome couple.

There was humour and the banter between Dora and her friends lead to some laugh out loud moments that had me smiling. The story was sweet, romantic and it was wonderful to watch their relationship develop.

✨✨✨✨it was a very pleasant read , I really enjoyed it. Dallas is the perfect kind of surfer boy born to be in romance books. His attitude, but also all the feelings he keeps really well hidden makes him even more perfect. And obviously Dora is the perfect mach, the exact opposite , what he really needs . Their chemistry showed since their first meet , you could feel it almost coming through the pages.
I don't know how to explain it any better, so you should see for yourself and absolutely read it!(if you want to ;) )
So I gave it 4.5 stars .⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pretty sure Dallas's tact is non-existent, "when he reaches me, he plants a hand on the wall next to my head. “Screw it, let’s do it.” The man is a complete smart***, “that would be like asking me to be a little less good -looking,” he answers in a completely straight face. “Try to be a little reasonable.” The man tends to have valid points at times, "...does a man need a reason to kiss his woman?” I loved this book, I adored Dallas

I loveeee this book, it's a fun college romance read with plenty emotional moments, a hottie water polo athlete and a cutie nerd, I love it when the hero and heroheroine are so different yet so perfect for each other. Love when Dallas doing his best to get under Dora's skin, although sometimes I want to punch him for crossing the lines and acting a total a-hole, his sweetness redeemed himself in the end, and I totally adore Dora, I can see a bit of me in her, so I can't not love this girl, therefore I love this couple.

Sweet cute complicated story and awesome loveable characters, oh yeah I love this book.

If you're looking for a fun complicated romance read, this book definitely IT.

I started this before bed (big mistake, HUGE), stayed up WAY too late, and devoured it in a matter of hours. Prepare to fall for Dallas because he is slightly broken but so, so easy to love! Nothing But Trouble was really great so I was looking forward to this big time, even as I was unsure of how I’d feel about Dallas. We’re introduced to him in that book and while there were glimpses of an intriguing story underneath all of his wild behavior, I knew it would take a lot to win me over. I shouldn’t have questioned it - he is without a doubt the best part of this book.

The story follows Dallas, the wild, fun-loving golden boy who doesn’t take too much about life seriously. He’s been hurt in the past and now chooses to live in the moment, but things change when he meets Dora. Shy and sheltered, Dora is a wallflower with a stutter who has decided that this year is the year she’s not going to give an eff. Dora and Dallas have a class together, and over the course of the semester they run into each other many times, sharing a connection that just gets stronger the more they interact. Starting out as strangers, they slowly develop into friends until there is a trust there that makes the progression into lovers a natural one.

This book went in a whole other direction than what I was expecting, which just made the ride that much more interesting. It’s decidedly New Adult, with relationships that match that vibe. If you haven’t read Nothing But Trouble, you’ll have a completely different reading experience than those who have - while this IS a standalone, the timelines intersect between the two books and we see scenes from NBT with a whole new perspective. I’ll admit that took a little getting used to, as I was constantly drawn back to memories of NBT, but once I settled into Dallas and Dora’s story it was easier to leave all that behind. While this isn’t my absolute favorite read by P. Dangelico (that honor is still shared by Wrecking Ball and You Can Have Manhattan), she’s set the bar so high with her past books that it was an almost unreachable target. It’s a great book that held my attention from start to finish, and absolutely flew by. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC via NetGalley (then purchased the book for my collection), and am voluntarily leaving a review of this angsty yet adorable romance.
