Luminescent Lotus is the fifth book in Angel Nyx’s NOLA Shifters series, and as with all the books in the series it works as a standalone novel. For fans of the series, you do get to see some of the couples from the prior books, but they are very much in the background with this one.

As with all the books in the NOLA Shifters series, this one had me pulled in from the start. It was a story I happily devoured in a single sitting, being a quick read that keeps you turning the pages. Although I was hooked, I’m going to be honest and say this is not my favourite book in the series.

Luminescent Lotus offers something different to the prior books, expanding the shifter world once more. I loved how we were given something different, an aspect of the world that is rarely looked at in paranormal romance. It was different, unique, and I really liked this. As much as I enjoyed it, I do prefer a bit more action in my paranormal romance reads. This, of course, is just personal preference. There was one element of this story that could have resulted in a lot of suspense. As it was, it was interesting but not quite to the level I enjoy. As I said, however, this is personal preference.

As the fifth book in the series, Luminescent Lotus is another addictive read. If you’re a fan of the series, it’s certainly worth grabbing. I may not be labelling this one my favourite, but I certainly enjoyed being given something a wee bit different.

I was able to read this new story by the wonderful Angel Nyx and it had me hooked! If you like paranormal romance then this is a book for you! Steele and Roxie make a cute couple but the author makes it more believable with Roxie not instantly falling into the man's arms. For me, that made it more enjoyable to see how Steele would win Roxie and steal her heart.
Fab story, if you haven't read it then you should! 😁

Steele and Roxie are made for each other!

Roxie is in a sort of limbo after leaving her singing career behind, so she and her best friend head to Mardi Gras in NOLA. A chance encounter with the enigmatic Steele has her wondering why he's so determined to pursue her, despite his playboy reputation.

Steele recognizes Roxie as his mate right from the start, but he doesn't understand why she can't feel it too. After a whirlwind romance, Roxie is called back home for a family emergency and she has more to deal with than a possible relationship.

Steele's transformation from casual playboy to devoted mate was well-written and believable, and Roxie's reluctance to resume her singing was handled sensitively and thoughtfully. Their romance struck just the right balance between insta-love and slow-burn. I loved the steps he took to win her back once he found her again.

I enjoyed the characters and world-building in this series. It was lovely to see some of the familiar characters from earlier books. This is a terrific addition to the series, and I enjoyed it very much. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Another enjoyable story in this wonderful shifter series. As a shifter, without the ability to shift, Roxie has put up with much from others in her pack, even though her father is the Alpha. When she is injured in an accident, her best friend persuades her to take a relaxing trip to New Orleans. Steele has always been a ‘player’, mainly because he feels himself unworthy of a mate. When these two damaged characters meet, they both feel the attraction, but Roxie pushes Steele away. How Steele manages to woo Roxie and how they find out who was behind her accident, makes this story one you don’t want to miss. I absolutely love this series.

This was an easy and enjoyable read with an interesting concept. Roxie and Steele’s first meeting didn’t go as Steele expected. They both had some misconceptions about each other in regards to being shifters and/or human. Each shifter story gets better.

Steele & Roxie

Overall this series is a great read once you get past the typos. Steele is a joker and a planet until he meets Roxie. She is of wolf shifter blood by her dad but her mom is human. She is not able to shift but possesses other shifter traits. Great story.

WOW! This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I never know what to expect. Wellll let me tell you I loved this book!! Roxie’s dad is the Alpha wolf and her mom is human. Roxie needs to get away from her hometown in Alaska. Her and her best friend decide to make a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras as they’ve wanted to for awhile. While they are there Roxie meets Steele, a wolf. However neither knows what the other is. Their attraction isn’t love at first sight for her but it is for him. They spend time together until Roxie has to leave abruptly. Steele doesn’t know where she is, her last name or even the town she lives in. One thing leaves to another and let’s just say things take a turn with some twists. Recommend Reading!! I can’t wait for more...I’ll have to read the first four in this series now.

I received this as an ARC for my honest and voluntary review.
