In rollicking rhyme, an adventurous kitty invites his friends for a nighttime romp in the busy city.
We’ll swoon to the moon If the moon is out. We’ll have a night To sing about.
City cats like city lights—so when the night falls and the moon rises, it’s time for them to walk about and creep about and sneak about! Prowl with them down dark streets and up walls, watching weaving cars, moving people, and maybe even a hooting owl. This fabulous and fun rhyming story features wonderful graphic illustrations by popular new artist Matt Hunt!
Sam William’s expressive, appealing and soft illustrations have appeared in numerous young books, including Ballet Kitty; (Boxer Books) Cold Little Duck, Duck, Duck (Greenwillow) and Little Red by Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York (Simon and Schuster).
He is the author of Talk Peace and That’s Love (Holiday House). Sam divides his time between London, Brooklyn, and the east coast of England. His latest book, 10 Blue Butterflies has just been published.
White text and colorful cats create a lighthearted contrast in this tale of cats who come out at night to play. The illustrations are simple and offer some humor for adults (Rats v. Cats as a theater sign). Toddlers and very young cat lovers will enjoy following these city felines during their night on the town.
Simple, rhyming text with lots of onomatopoeias and noises that the cats make. A lovely read for kitty fans, as they explore the city at night with bright, detailed illustrations.
Loved the illustrations but I don't love that the rhyme scheme breaks so often, and otherwise there isn't much unique. A cute book, but nothing extraordinary.
