Like all RKB anthologies this one has a pretty big array of different types of stories. Only one of which that I actually skimmed through. 'If By Ocean', which is about love with a merman. Sorry, I'm just not a fan of creature stuff.

There are f/f, f/m/m/m and f/m/m/m/m stories within this anthologies. Anal play, gang bangs, revenge sex, sex with strangers, BDSM, and sex at work. To name just a few.

Some of my favorites in this anthology were "At the Pleasure of the President" by 'Sabrina Sol' and

I got an ARC of this book.

I have to say I was a bit surprised when Cleis asked me to review modern erotica. I like historical erotica. I like learning about sexuality. I like knowing where terms came from and how long people have been doing what they have been doing. Modern erotica often bores me. I am asexual and the idea of being sexually attracted to someone is so foreign to me. I just don't get it. So often times modern erotica is just eh.

If you're looking for something to steam up your bedroom windows, this is a definite must read!!
There's a big variety of different types of stories, and it contains both PNR and contemp. F/F, M/M/M/F short stories, within this anthology. There's also a wide selection of sexual stuff; anal play, revenge sex, stranger sex, BDSM, sex at the workplace, sex with non-human beings and so, so, so much more

I really enjoyed this set of short stories. There is definitely something for everyone. From porn stars to mermaids - yep, mermaids. These authors bring you a range of erotica you didn't even know existed. Sierra Simone's story was a stand out for me and I also loved the CD Reiss contribution.

One thing I love about these is the opportunity to find new to me authors to follow into other stories.
Will definitely keep an eye out for Volume 6.

How do you hit the mark on outrageous? Read the twenty-four stories in Best Women’s Erotica Volume 5 and you’ll experience it.
Could you have a more perfect theme?
The authors' choice to showcase what’s outrageous was phenomenal. From the people, the places, the cultures, to the future, the past, and the sex.
Did I mention the sex?
Hot, creative, and interesting sex were woven into scenes within political situations, at the office, featuring sculpture inspiration, a find in the basement, hidden in

This collection includes twenty-one sensuous stories that include BDSM, toys, multiple partners, different sexual orientations, aerial sex, and historical, contemporary, and futuristic settings. The variety makes this collection special. Some of the characters are simply seeking pleasure, while others desire love and commitment.

My favorites are as follows:

“At the Pleasure of the President” by Sabrina Sol displays the needs of the first female president, which may jeopardize her reelection campa

What are you in the mood for tonight? Go ahead and pick a quick bedtime story to keep you warm. There was quite a variety to choose from- some ff, some mfmm, a mermaid, a historical, some bdsm. I'd say I was into most of it. The great thing about steamy short stories is if one isn't your thing, you can just turn the page til you find one that tickles your fancy. There's somethin here for everyone. And even a couple I thought I wouldn't be into but was.

WOW. Rachel Kramer Bussel’s Best Women’s Erotica of the Year, Volume 5 is HOT! I loved all the stories. With over 20 stories by some of my favorites like Sierra Simone, CD Reiss, and Sabrina Sol you can expect a WILD ride full of passion and heat.

I love the wide variety of these stories. They range from BDSM, mermaids, and even a female President. Be prepared to have a fan ready because it’s about to get STEAMY.

Another great part about this entire book is that it has something for everyone. Ther

In this Volume 5 of Rachel's continuing annual series of spectacular stories she has endeavored to find an array of new authors fresh with a different focus from the familiar veteran erotic writers we've often enjoyed before. Each years anxiously awaited collection just gets better and more diverse until it becomes impossible to choose a favorite tale. Rachel not only hits the mark, she raises the standard with each new book.

Honestly, I don’t think Rachel Kramer Bussel could put together a less than stellar erotic anthology. The woman has a knack for finding quality content, and volume five of Best Women’s Erotica of the Year is no exception.

The theme this time around is “Totally Outrageous”. Each story features a strong female character who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to make it happen, in or out of the bedroom. With today’s current (deplorable) political climate, reading about badass, sexy chicks taking

I've read every volume of Rachel Kramer Bussel's "Best Women's Erotica of the year" series so far, and [although volume #3 gets re-read frequently] I've got to say that the series keeps getting better and better. I don't know how Ms. Kramel Bussel] finds so many wonderfully-talented short-story writers... but one of the things I like most about her anthologies is being exposed to collections of writers that I wasn't familiar with. And this collection doesn't disappoint! I absolutely loved "After ...more

Another year is drawing to a close and that means Volume 5 of Best Women’s Erotica of the Year is now in my life. I think this series has officially become an erotic sex-positive New Year’s Tradition, and I’m here for it. With Volumes 6 and 7 a go, I’m looking forward to celebrating year after year.

The publisher sent a copy of Volume 5 to me in exchange for an honest review and I was so excited to see the stories in this year’s volume as the authors tackled the theme “Outrageous.”

Best Women's Erotica Volume 5 exceeded my expectations! All I have to say is mermaid sex, frosting and multiple partners... I don't want to give too much away about each story ( I find it fun to just go into a story and not know exactly which direction its going).

In my opinion the stories in this collection were very passionate, intense and included varied situations and partners. There are stories that will appeal to various tastes and this is a collection that everyone can enjoy as each story

RKB has brought together more authors for her new Best Women's Erotica of the Year Vol.5 and each story gives you a taste of the authors style. This volume contains different toy play, multiple partners, BDSM, a wide range of sexual orientations(F/M, F/F, M/M and everything in between) in all kinds of settings that promises to catch your attention and keep you reading for hours. I enjoyed each and every story in this book. Ms. Bussel writes her stories specifically for us women - each and every one the woman is completely in control, or at least it begins that way. Point being SHE chooses what to do, who with and when.
Each one of these in this anthology is by a different author which makes more reads because each author offers more titles. Each story is a very exciting one that you cannot put down until the end - oh how many of us wish our offices were more like the on

This is an anthology with bite-sized erotic stories meant for women. The stories are all very well written and there's a vast array of erotic tastes represented. Which is perhaps the problem.
I enjoyed less than half of the stories. And some of them I found even nasty. But I suppose that's the trouble with trying to please everyone. In doing so, nobody gets what they want.

I don't consider my taste in erotica to be vanilla. But even so, there were several off-putting stories. From this collection,

This collection of steamy erotic short stories is not for the faint-hearted. Each tale is different from the next and includes some scenes that are quite descriptive.

You will find a variety of sex including fantasy, political, BDSM, and mermaid (Yes you read that right)

Some of it was a little too weird or bizarre which prevented me from connecting with the characters and their story. And like with most anthologies I liked some of the stories and disliked others.

5/5 - this is an excellent group of erotica stories.

Each story offers something different. From politicians, art lovers, porn stars addiction, and even a mermaid, they all stimulate the senses.

My favorite submissions were:

Nymph and Satyr by Justine Eloyt
If By Ocean by Loretta Black (legit mermaid sex with a human) -

These two stories had something extra that made me want to read even more about the characters.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc in exchange for a honest review.

I just finished Best Women’s Erotica of the Year Volume 5 edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. I found the short stories to be too short be truly erotic as I felt I needed more story. Saying that I had my favourites Outlaws, if the Ocean, Broken thing fixed, Dancing with myself and Vintage Treasures. As people have said before me there is a short story for everyone. There is erotica of every genre.

As you probably know, we don't review much erotica. But ever since I was handed one of her anthologies in my days at Heroes & Heartbreakers, I've followed Rachel Kramer-Bussel's work with Cleis Press. Kramer-Bussel's curation of these anthologies, particularly the Best Women's Erotica of the Year series, is what really makes them sing. The collections are diverse in both authorship and content and while most readers won't love every story, there's something for everyone in them--as with most ant ...more

Being outrageous is the theme of Rachel Kramer Bussel's latest book in her Best Women's Erotica of the Year series, and it delivers, at least for the most part. With any anthology, for any individual reader, there will be some hits and some misses. The 5 star rating I gave the book are for the stories that rang my own particular bell. For myself, the best of those stories rang with crystal clarity.

I particularly enjoyed Sabrina Sol's 'At The Pleasure of The President.' which features a widowed f

The theme of this erotica anthology is "outrageous", and on this word alone, I'd say this collection delivers. There are 21 short stories in here, each of them drastically different but all linked by that one word. Each story is short enough to read in a quickie, but long enough that it satisfies. Because each story is unrelated to the others in the book, this is a good book to read in bursts. One story here, two stories there.

This collection does a really good job with inclusivity and diversit

This collection contains excellent erotica. It's well written and diverse, offering a range of kinks and tastes for everyone. Consent is big and safety is addressed, which matters to me as a reader because I like a dose of reality with my fantasy (if that makes any sense whatsoever).

In addition to writers I recognized, such as Sierra Simone, Sabrina Sol and CD Reiss, there were a few new-to-me writers that now I'm eager to read and follow.

Of course, not every story landed for me. I'm not interes

An eclectic mix of steamy stories. Some I loved more than others but there was lots to enjoy here.

Some of my fave stories include:
- Sabrina Sol's about a female president, who is also latinx seeking pleasure with someone close to her.
- Interpretation about Stella Harris which was all about the sensuality of touch.
- the last story in the anthology, f/f with two circus performers. Who covertly have some sexy fun while doing their routine for an audience.
- the story with a fat non-bina

I really liked this anthology. All the stories had something different, yet still sexy to offer. Some were sweet, some were more cerebral, some had multiple partners, there were woman/woman stories as well. Pretty much everything you could ask for in erotic short stories!
