My arms slide under his tuxedo jacket, wrapping his body, muscles flexing under my touch. The heat of his body burning into mine, sunshine warming the ice in my heart he created when he left. And that’s what scares me. Just this quickly, I’m consumed by him, the princess and the warrior, as he used to call us. My man. My hero. And those are dangerous things for me to feel, so very dangerous. Because they’re not real. He showed me that they aren’t real.
“This means nothing,” I say, tearing my mouth from his, my hand planting on the hard wall of his chest. “This is sex. Just sex. This changes nothing.”

WooHoo! We finally have Savage!!! I’ve been waiting for this book since I first met him and I am absolutely thrilled at what this author has created.

Years ago, Savage and Candace had a wonderful relationship that was everything to them both. But something happened to cause Savage to never return from deployment and that decision broke both of their hearts. Now, he’s back in San Antonio and determined to protect the only woman he’s ever loved.
While Savage is still snarky, brutally honest, and full throttle when it comes to taking care of business, the situation he finds himself in doesn’t allow for much of the Savage humor we’ve come to expect from him. Instead, we see how he was initially broken, what resulted in his unique journey down life’s path, and how deeply he feels towards Candace. Even as he battles himself at times, he’s in full alpha protection mode and I loved everything I learned about him.
’I was a ----ing paid mercenary and she’s the angel that I have always known deserves better than the devil I’ve become. But devil that I am, I can’t seem to care anymore. Not after I tasted her again. Not after I touched her again. I have to have her. She will be mine again.’
This book sets up a wonderfully twisted, mysterious plot that Savage and Candace, as well as some of the Walker Security characters, must unravel quickly. The bad guy is pretty obvious, but this author is known to throw in a few surprises so I’m not holding fast to any of my current conjectures.
With a relatively fast pace, lots of drama caused by both Savage and Candace’s relationship issues as well as the mystery they are working on, this book kept me completely engaged and unable to put it down.
The steam absolutely sizzles between these two characters and there was never a doubt that they belonged together. How they find their happy ever after is going to be interesting and with a cliffhanger that had me cursing the author, I’m antsy to get the next installment asap.

I'm so happy to have Savage's story begin. He has made one of the biggest impressions for a side character in several series from this author. He has such a huge personality that you can't help but want to know more about him.
Savage is one of those men who exasperate you so much that you end up loving him because of it. He manages to joke around at the most inappropriate times, bringing levity when things get too serious. That has endeared him to many in this fictional world, and with the readers.
As much of an inappropriate jokester he can be, he is also a very deadly enemy. His thirst for violence sits just below the surface. He's a good guy who will go to great lengths to help anyone in danger. It's quite the combination in a man.
I have been so curious about his past. I know he has loved before and still pines, but never knew what happened. We finally get to meet the woman who has made such an impression on Savage. I was surprised to find out the was the reason they are no longer together.
I'm looking forward to learning more about Candace and what makes her special to Savage. She has already shown that she is no fool and is just as honorable as Savage is. She loves him just as fiercely as he loves her but they have a lot to work through.

Savage is just sooooo yummy! Big cliffy in this one!

If you have followed my reviews for a while, you know I am in love with this author and her amazing stories. This new series is going to be the death of me, I can already tell. Just the cover alone stirs my heart strings.
Savage is a rough and tough, hard ass guy, but when we get to meet him, he is a a big ol’ softy. But only for his true love, Candace.
There was no lead in to his feelings for her. It was just there – Boom! He is head over heels for her. But all is not well in the relationship department. See, Savage has broken her heart and has a lot of work to do. Not to mention, protect her too!
Savage Hunger is dripping with heat and passion that only Jones can do in her special way. Raw and in your face, these two together burn the pages up! So much fire and passion lives in this story, you almost need a fan to chill out.
This story is part of a trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger. I hated that part, but just fell in deep for this opening book. I cannot wait to see where the queen of steaming romantic suspense will take us in the next installments!
MMMmmm Savage definitely lives up to his name! Bring me more!!

I definitely have a love/hate relationship with Lisa Renee Jones. I love her writing style. I love the way she weaves a story. I love her character building. I hate the cliffhanger at the end of Savage Hunger. I hate the fact that I loved the cliffhanger at the end of Savage Hunger. But, most of all, I hate that I have to wait! How could you?!?
I have waited to see what LRJ was going to do with Savage. He’s always been intriguing to me. I always felt that his gruff exterior was hiding a teddy bear inside. Granted, a teddy bear that could probably rip your head off with one move, but, a softy, nonetheless. He’s proving me right and wrong and I am loving every time he comes off with one of his off-the-wall remarks or tries to shut down his “team”. I love how he goes from hard to soft … how he could love one moment and threaten to kill anyone who stands in his way of his goal the next. I love how much he loves his Candy.
If anyone deserves to be angry, have hatred run through her blood, it’s Candace. She was ruined by Rick Savage and now she has no other choice but to trust him again. All she knows is that he left her, he broke her and left her to pick up the pieces. All she knew was what was in the Dear Candace letter he wrote her. But, now she knows the whole story and, despite everything, she loves him. Just as much as she did 8 years ago. Things are complicated and being made more complex with the more she finds out … about Rick, about Gabriel, about her father. She knows where she belongs. She knows who she loves. Now, to figure out how to get Rick to understand that she doesn’t think he’s a killer and get out of the mess that she’s in.
Love. It. That’s the only thing to say about Savage Hunger. I have loved every one of LRJ’s series but, this may be my favorite. I guess because I have been looking forward to seeing the true Rick Savage for so long. And, she isn’t disappointing me in the least. The story is exciting, interesting, intriguing and so very Rick Savage – brash and hot. Lisa Renee Jones hit it out of the park with Savage Hunger. Now, she needs to get me Savage Burn ASAP. I need to know ….

Holy Sh!t balls there is waaaaaaay more to Rick Savage then meets the eye! I always liked the big brute of a man...there was just something about him, well I now know my instincts were right about him all this time.
Candace and Rick had met ten years ago when he was in the Military. He always felt he wasn't good enough for her but she loved him and he loved her and they were happy until he was deployed and later sent her a Dear Jane letter. I thought with all of his brooding someone stomped on his heart but in fact he stomped on it himself! Ugghh men, always thinking they are doing the right thing.....

This was waaaaaay too cringy for me and it's hard to fathom why so many readers enjoyed this. Everything was too instant and the relationship between Savage and Candace was a joke. Maybe it was just me but I didn't see any purpose continuing and it became more apparent as I read on that this just wasn't my cup of tea.

@30% this is more than enough for me. This H was over the top Alpha. That in itself isn't a strike but the authors got to make it work otherwise the behaviour is ludicrous. He kicks the h to the curb, for her own good, isn't it always! That's all in the past. He goes back in the present and expects her to fall in his lap. Instantly! At that stage I wasn't sure how much time had lapsed but then the h says 10 years, well then...ludicrous and idiotic. There's other stuff but I can't be bothered to lay it out.

You know some books are ridiculous and unbelievable but somehow the author grounds the book in reality through their writing skills. This book wasn't one of them. It read like an idiotic unbelievable story which did not connect to me as a reader. The characters are half baked and so is the storyline. The constant back and forth in the monologue of the MCs is damn annoying not to mention, unrealistic. I read about 80% of the book. I couldn't do anymore.

This book is #winning on all kinds of fronts! The cover is delicious, and it delivered deliciousness! I hate to use the title as a descriptor for this journey but … it’s gonna be savage ya’ll. I can feel it. Everything I have read so far points in that direction and I am one huge anxiety ball waiting for it to publish. The suspense of it all is killing me!!!
This is just the beginning so strap yourselves in and enjoy the ride ... it's gonna get bumpy!

Savage Hunger is the first book of the Savage Trilogy and my second book by this author. I have to say I am SO behind on reading this author here, and boy does she have a backlist!! Just looking at all the books she has written makes me feel overwhelmed because I definitely want to read more of her books. Especially after falling in love with the Savage Trilogy here.
Savage Hunger is a great beginning to get you hooked on Savage and Candace’s love. Candace and Savage fell in love fiercely and for a year their life was full of bright hope until Savage was called away in the military and Candace’s father go him working into a black ops division that went bad and Savage was caught up into a situation that he couldn’t get out of and before he knew it…he became a man he barely recognized….a killer with blood on his hands and didn’t feel worthy of Candace and so he let her go and for eight years they haven’t seen each other. But when he is called in for one last favor, he knows he has to do it but he knows it has everything to do with Candace. And he won’t be able to let her go a second time. Candace, however, is in a situation she will need his help with. She never got over losing Savage, but when her fiancee she learns is planning to kill her father, she knows that she must do what she can to save her father’s life. Then Savage comes back into her life and soon Savage and Candace will need to fight not only for their love and the loss they both have suffered….but their very lives.
WHEW…..oh boy, this book was simply fantastic in so many ways. First off I will say that the writing is pretty quick and engaging and I had no problem quickly falling for these two. We do get one flashback….I wouldn’t have minded a bit more in seeing more of the depths of their relationship that “first year” they were together but what we saw was so wonderful including a great interaction with Candace’s father who is a United States Military General.
I will die for her. I will protect her. I will do whatever it take to keep her safe, even if it ends me in the process.
When these two come and find each other again….its explosive in so many forms. Yeah Candace is still pissed at Savage and I don’t blame her at all because Savage was an idiot in letting her go. But he is a fighter and he fights like hell to get the woman he loves back. And he brings along some of his boys as backup and we get to see some of their background and I gotta have their stories. I am addicted to this world of intensity, military hottness and suspense that curls your toes.
Every time I thought the end was here, I thought of you, and I had a reason to stay alive. I never stopped loving you. I never stopped needing you.
Overall I found Savage Hunger to be a great beginning to a great trilogy that got me eager and excited to explore more of this world Lisa Renee Jones has created.

Then Savage comes back into her life and soon Savage and Candace will need to fight not only for their love and the loss they both have suffered….but their very lives.
WHEW…..oh boy, this book was simply fantastic in so many ways. First off I will say that the writing is pretty quick and engaging and I had no problem quickly falling for these two. We do get one flashback….I wouldn’t have minded a bit more in seeing more of the depths of their relationship that “first year” they were together but what we saw was so wonderful including a great interaction with Candace’s father who is a United States Military General.
I will die for her. I will protect her. I will do whatever it take to keep her safe, even if it ends me in the process.
When these two come and find each other again….its explosive in so many forms. Yeah Candace is still pissed at Savage and I don’t blame her at all because Savage was an idiot in letting her go. But he is a fighter and he fights like hell to get the woman he loves back. And he brings along some of his boys as backup and we get to see some of their background and I gotta have their stories. I am addicted to this world of intensity, military hottness and suspense that curls your toes.
Every time I thought the end was here, I thought of you, and I had a reason to stay alive. I never stopped loving you. I never stopped needing you.
Overall I found Savage Hunger to be a great beginning to a great trilogy that got me eager and excited to explore more of this world Lisa Renee Jones has created.

I’m trying to find something nice to say but I’ve got nothin’. There’s a whole lot wrong, but I have two main complaints..
1) It’s a classic case of insta love, but without any chemistry.
2) The writing is exceedingly repetitive. There isn’t a missed opportunity for Savage to call himself a killer or threaten to kill someone, for Candace to remind Savage that he’s been gone for eight years, for Savage to explain that he left to protect her, and for Savage to reassure her that he’ll never leave her again.
I managed to finish the book only to realize it is the first book in a trilogy. I can’t fathom dragging this story out for two more books.

Savage has always been the big brute with a huge personality, stale silly jokes and no nonsense attitude. If there is a job with Walker Security you always want Savage on the job. Savage has played a big role with Walker Security, He is such a jokester and always at the the improper time when things are so serious. He has such a big heart but he is a killer that will also rip out your heart because of his skills that has made him the most dangerous. Savage is always the one that dives right in and want to fight and gut someone.
All the Walker Security guys have great stories but Savage was the one I always wanted to know. All has had a woman bring the big guys to their knees. So who is the woman that brought Rick Savage from being a mercenary to Walker Security.

This is the first book I read because the cover was so pukeworthily off-putting that I thought, the book can't be that bad.
I mean, look at that cover model! He is HIDEOUS. Not just ugly, but he embodies every negative facet I hate in men irl. And the cover designer and the author seem to think, that this guy is better than sliced bread, or whatever. What the fuck?
Alas, my hope was mistaken. Actually the cover model is an excellent representation of the H, who is just apeshit batty alpha and that beyond even the slightest chance of repair. Come on, Hannibal Lecter (the Anthony Hopkins version) is 1,000% sexier than this unshaven, childish, self-centered army clod. And the h apparently loves being kicked around by that arsehole. I can't even.

SAVAGE HUNGER by Lisa Renee Jones is book One in the Savage Trilogy Series. This starts the story of Candace Marks and Rick Savage.
Savage and Candace met several years ago when they younger. Their attraction burned hot and of course Candace fell in love. Savage fell to but he was in a bad place that he didn't want it to hurt Candace with that darkness. So he and went on to make changes in is life but now in their present day he is part of the mercenaries with the Walker Security. When a man from his past who at one time he respected as a father but now he hates came to collect on a debt owed from the past sends him back to where he didn't think he go again.
This book starts their journey Savage and Candace. This does go back from the present day to the past and then back. Can't wait to read more in the next book.

This was the first Lisa Renee Jones novel that I'd had the pleasure to read. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. I was intrigued by Savage and Candace's story. I am eager to watch how their story will unfold.

Staying away from her to protect her no longer works.
I actually really liked this BUT I have so many issues with the whole I’m-leaving-for-your-own-good shit. It speaks of control and doesn’t takes the other person’s feeling into consideration. And the way Rick Savage did it was awful. Candace also bothers me a bit. How sacrificial she is. What a perfect martyr, not Saint, martyr. She’s willing to give everything up for her father. And I get it. But she drove me nuts at times.
I didn’t know it was split up into parts. This stopped mid story. Not even a cliffhanger. Just stopped. It was so odd. Also, nothing really happened. I know it’s suppose to set it up for the other parts but it just annoyed me. I don’t know if I’m continuing. This didn’t feel like a completed story and that irritated me so much.
I do like Rick and his men. The men he works with are interesting. The story itself is interesting, if only all the parts were in this book and not small chunks that stop in weird parts. Candace had no real presence. I hope she is more prevalent in the other parts. Candace Marks and Rick Savage used to be in love. She was planning on the whole shebang. Then he left her with a note and a heart shattered into a million tiny pieces. Now she's in an unhealthy, unbearable relationship with nothing left to live for, when who barrels back into her life but the man who broke her all those years ago. Can Candace steel her heart against Savage? Not if he has anything to say about it!
When Rick and Candace were together previously, Rick knew he wasn't good enough for her, knew that there were things in his life he didn't want touching her and her goodness. So he left. Unfortunately, he broke her heart when he did so. But he's back now and he's got the skills (and the alpha tendencies) to protect her. If only she'd give him a second chance. She can work out her anger, work out her broken heart on him. He's more than happy to let her...
I always love Lisa's heroes, they're usually alpha with big hearts, and Savage is certainly no exception. He's exceptional - super protective, vulnerable inside, and alpha af. I loved getting his backstory, as heartbreaking as it is, and I loved seeing these two realize (admit) that they were still madly in love with each other. I can't wait for Savage Burn now!

My first read by Lisa Jones and it did not disappoint my romantic suspense addict heart one bit. It was addicting, exciting and had me on pins and needles to learn more about what was really going on. Full disclosure, you won't know almost anything reguarding the suspense plotline in this book, it ends in a major cliffhanger and it's part one/three.
Savage Hunger is obviously, a romantic suspense, and also a second chance romance about two characters who have been apart for eight long years and now have the chance to be together again in the midst of the danger surrounding them and their loved ones. They still have a lot to work out about how they ended before, about who they really are and what is happening in their lives now.
Savage is addictive but also a bit annoying with his back and forth.. truth is he's scared about putting the love of his life in danger but with all that is going on.. he just needs to give in and be there for Candance. These two are sexy and emotional and you just know that even though they were apart for eight years and a lot happened, they still love as each other as much as they did before.
I love the little bit where we got to see how they met and got together. That was such a meet cute. I cannot wait to see where life takes them in book 2. I feel like there's so much yet still to be uncovered, secrets, lies, deceit. It's gonna be a bumpy ride I'm sure and I'm looking forward to it!

5 SAVAGE STARS!! What a great start to a new trilogy. Savage and Candace will keep you on your toes with this high speed thriller. I could not put this book down....it is so good. As always this author gives us lots of OMG moments, that has you glued to her every word. You definitely need this book on your TBR.

Rick and Candace were in a serious relationship until Rick deployed on a military mission and left a note. He didn't come back and Candace was devastated with a broken heart. Years later, Candace is set to marry a cruel man she doesn't love when Rick shows up in her life. Rick left all those years ago but he can't stay away from the one woman he's always loved and wanted to protect. These two are scorching hot together and I can't wait to read the next story.

i'll write this for the entire series.
Meh...certainly not the best LRJ series. I thought I would love Savage's book. But it was just ok. I get why she moved on...but not sure I agree with whom. Don't like hearing about him fucking away his pain...but sigh...at least she was getting some too!

Holy moly, Savage..such an appropriate name! The man would do anything to protect the woman he lives, even when he was the one behind her heartbreak..

No me atrapo para nada. Y encima tanto misterio para que todo quede inconcluso y debo leer el 2do libro? La verdad me aburrió tanto y me canso mentalmente que no me dan ganas de leer el siguiente libro.
