Hitting the Target : A Kindred Tales Novel. (Brides of the Kindred) - Evangeline Anderson

An interesting new world where a “wall” divides two different societies. Think 1984/Brave New World and throw in some of today’s political issues and throw in an intriguing plot and a sexy Alpha Kindred Doctor Shifter (Trey).

Living in fear on the totalitarian side of the planet(under the surveillance of The Eye), Mia hides behind her ordinary appearance as she is not the norm of what is considered desirable

No Good Ever Comes of a Wall!

A self-professed xenophile, I have to admit that Evangeline’s Kindred Tales are my guilty pleasure. As soon as a new one comes out, I actually BUY it (despite the plethora of freebies to be had over the internet) and read it immediately in one sitting!
This latest story does not disappoint.
In an all-too Trumpian Land of fear mongering, male superiority and walls, our eventual heroine Mia is plucked from sad obscurity to play the role of Mata Hari across the southern

I really enjoyed the story. Each book I read of this author I see so much creativity.

Treygar was a very cool type of Kindred. He was a Lei’on Kindred. I love the direction the author took with this character.

The author did a great job giving a lot of detail when it came to Mia. I think it was very important because to understand Mia you need to understand how she was forced to live. It also helps you understand how much a strong woman she really was.

I love how protective Trey was of Mia but w

While I do keep harping on how much this series stays the same, in every single book, the formula and characters are exactly the same. It's only the plot that changes. That's why I usually rate these only 3 stars. It's fun, but not a series I'd recommend.

To people who have a cow about 'politics', just wow. The 'politics' in this book is an alien dictactorship. Yes, there's a wall. Yes, the author may have gotten the idea from US politics, but she might NOT have. It's an alien world, stop trying

Evangeline has a way with words that will draw you into hernstories and leave you on begging for more. The Kindred Brides series has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Each story is different and the characters are personable, interesting, and those Kindred are so dreamy! This story is no different. Trey’s a new character to the series, as well as a new type of Kindred. He and his beast are definitely in my top 5 favorites so far. The storyline keeps you on your toes, waiting for the next ...more

The dystopian world that Ms. Anderson has crafted was dark and, sadly, believable, particularly the descriptions of the great barrier. This enormous electrical “wall” divides the world and, as with East and West Germany, each side has a leadership that are opposite in every way. Enter in Trey, a surgeon and Lei’on Kindred and Mia, a prisoner of the police state which is the North. Their relationship is lovely but my favourite aspect of it is the noble beast who is Trey’s “better” half. I LOVED h ...more

I love the Brides of the Kindred and find that the Kindred Tales are a hit or miss or me. This one is pretty good. A girl in a totalitarian district is forced to spy or her grandmother will pay the price. She is forced to another country to spy on the aliens that have come to her planet. As usual the author builds a fantastic new world and sets our H and h on a collision course. I really liked this story but the best part is the setup for the next Brides of the Kindred story featuring the Volt K ...more

I love meeting all these new types of Kindred. Now we get one that can shift into a beast that sounds a lot like a lion. But this one doesn’t have much to do with Earth but another planet. A planet that is split by a wall where one half is free and the other is ruled by an iron hand by a council. The story has spies, threats of death and torture, poison, and even worse evils. But thankfully the Kindred and the goddess will change that. Expect some interesting and sometimes fun twists. And always ...more

Phew! It feels like this series has been going on since FOREVER , but I will never get tired of it. I have to admit this series is a little formulaic at times but Hitting the Target is quite different from the past few books I have read. I loved the heroine, I loved the Hero, his beast and their interaction. They kind of remind me of Venom and Eddie Brock's relationship. The dynamic of it--I absolutely loved it. Not going to lie, I shed a few tears and smiled like a lunatic by the time I fini ...more

Mia is recruited as a spy but it isn't willingly. Mia is sent beyond the wall to find out information for an awful man. She's supposed to get close to a Kindred and spy on him. However, when they meet she realizes that they're mates. Trey is so gentle and patient with Mia, I absolutely loved him and felt so bad that Mia was being blackmailed into deceiving him. This was another fantastic Kindred story and I anxiously wait to see what Evangeline Anderson comes up with next.

Kindred Target

I absolutely love this series. This author's imagination and descriptions of each aspect of her stories are awesome. I automatically buy every book she writes because I know it will be another great story. In this book a naive young woman is sent across an electrified wall to spy on a Kindred Warrior, who unbeknownst to the the evil commandant of her country, happens to be the man she is dreaming about.

Mia meets Trey under less than truthful circumstances but the attraction is strong and amid the deceit a bond developed.
Threats and danger causes Mia to make a fatal decision and leads to major misunderstandings.
Will Trey get to Mia before things are irreversible?
Loved the story and the page turning romance that evolves!

Hitting the target

How would you like to live in a police state?
Neighbors spying on neighbors.
Co workers always watching and ready any so called wrong doings.
Where you were told what to do, how to dress, and what to watch.
The image a chance to go to a place where you are free,
and meet the man you have been dream sharing with.
But there a fly in the ointment.
Good read, 👍

I never get tired of these Kindred Aliens. Set on a planet with one continent divided in half. Reminds me a country here on earth. Freedom for the South and a police state in the North. Action, drama, spying, kidnapping, imprisonment and of course romance. So much to keep me glued to my kindle. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this Kindred, his beast and the woman of his dreams.

Enjoyable and entertaining read

Another phenomenal addition to the Brides of Kindred. As usual this series doesn't disappoint plenty of intrigue, action, and of course steamy romance to keep you hooked from beginning to end so looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

And Evangeline Anderson never disappoints. I liked Trey and Mia's story and enjoyed the dynamics of her world, but I was slightly underwhelmed at the lack of adventure in this one. I normally enjoy Evangelin's adventurous and quick witted storylines. I enjoyed it, even though it got a bit weird at the end, I just felt that something was missing.

A gorgeous alien lion shifter and a woman forced to spy for the government is bound to be intriguing. But when you add the fact that they are fated mates everything goes from intriguing to hot. This is a really interesting and sexy read. I just love this author.

Who doesn’t like a good Kindred story? This was another in a long line of good reads. While the overall plot was not in doubt, the twists and turns along the way from start to finish are worth your time. Grab it, sit back and enjoy the ride. I’m off to the next one!

Bestiality again?!

Ugh! People and animals should not be sexual with each other. The story was good up until that point. Not my thing.

Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for ...more
