Believe me when I say that I absolutely love this series. Or at least I used to. I knew that waiting fours years for a book came with risks, mainly that no matter how much you love the series, an authors writing style can change drastically in that amount of time, and it would only be more apparent due to the fact that she hadn’t released any other books that I read during that time. Also, it’s my personal opinion that if an author is going to half ass a book just to finish a series years lat
I totally love this series ❤

How to describe about Rowan, our heroine here? It’s Eve Dallas on steroids!
No, seriously. She is that bonkers! 😂😂

And our 500 years plus hero?
Just like Roarke, have to take the lady as the way she is.
That’s the price you need to pay for loving an Alpha Female, right? 😘

I can’t wait for book #6.

Too many mistakes for a trad published book, but unfortunately it wasn't the biggest problem this book had.

It wanted strongly to start with a bang, but it was all over the place. Honestly it was a WTF moment ending with Rowan churlishy kneeing a vamp in the 'nads. I won't tag it as a spoiler as it happens in the first pages, but her posse in the US is killed while she's away. And rather then having a dramatic moment, it's robotic, flat. There is no real bang as there is no real drama. (Or rathe
I hate that I can't give this a higher rating, I really love this series. There was a few things that really bugged me but I'm going to hold off on my rant til I have listened to it in audio - which I like better with this series

After marathoning the entire series before reading this newest release, I’ve noticed that a lot of the plot seems overly similar. I don’t like the feeling I get when I purchase a book only to read the same story with a few changes in cast. Although the h has made significant allies & war has been declared, this book left me feeling like I’ve been running on the treadmill expecting to get to a predetermined spot. That’s to say I don’t feel we’ve made much progress on the overall arc. This was ...more
The opening to this one really got to me. I hated that a happy time for Rowan and Clive was ruined and not just a bit, but so very bad. The event spurred Rowan into action, to find the people who would do this. During her investigation she found out that there had to be people close to them betraying them, which seemed to hit her hard, especially as that info was figured out after another hard know. I loved that Clive was right there supporting Rowan, helping and giving her space as needed.

The fond memories of her wedding day are swept aside by the brutal murder of one her dearest friends and Rowan Summerwaite heads back to Las Vegas to track down those responsible. She finds a multilayered conspiracy involving multiple groups of paranormals that sets Roan on the hunt with her wrath burning from within like holy fire.

This urban fantasy just keeping better and grittier with lots blood and mayhem throughout this pulse pounding read. Rowan and Clive’s wedding was interrupted violence
I was so excited for this book. I've missed this series in the four years since At Blade's Edge came out. I love a kick-ass protagonist, but what I adore even more is if their partner is equally strong. That's why I love the dynamics between Rowan and Clive. They remind me of my favorite romantic couple in Eve and Roarke from the In Death series by J.D. Robb.

Having said that, I'm giving Wrath of the Goddess 3.5 stars. The inciting incident right from the start of the book was shocking and set hi

* An advanced reading copy was provided by the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. *

I've waited over 2 years for this book. I kinda gave up on the series. But to my surprise and gratitude the author will finish this one.

The vampires in these books may not be something new, but the main character certainly is.
Rowan is the type of heroine that you rarely see. Super confident. Powerful. And opinionated without being arrogant.
I think the thing I like most about
There was something about this installment... not sure what it was...that made this one largely a miss for me. I really love this series and remember reading the first book and being so pleasantly surprised by the main characters and the world. And each installment has been pretty good about maintaining and growing the character development and forward story. But this one just left me feeling largely empty and unsatisfied.

At the end of the previous book, Carey, one of Rowan's employees and close
I have been eagerly awaiting this book for ages! Recommended my library purchase a copy a few months ago, and wouldn’t you know it, it turned up this morning in my library loans. I devoured this and thankfully there is no need to reread the last book as the final scenes are recapped for your reading convenience.

All my favourites were there, we see the brief return of a not so pleasant character from books past - you’ll have to read the book to find out who it is - and a big plus was Rowan discov

*cries* It's almost over! I don't want it to be over! I want ten more years of Rowan and Clive. Summerwaite/Stewart 2020?

Get it together, girl. Okay.

So this ends up being my least favorite of the series, but it's still really good. It just feels like a stepping stone to get to the big finale. It didn't really feel over - I was kinda surprised when I turned the page to find the "coming soon from Lauren Dane" page. It's not really a cliffhanger, but it does end on a "this isn't over" note. I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Rowan is back and ready to exact justice
They already killed one of her friends.
Who is going to be next ?
They picked the wrong slayer to mess with.
Read the next chapter in Rowan Summerwaite saga.
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can't wait for the next book in this series.
OMG i really really love this series, so much, Rowen and Clive are just so much good and I saw that there's gonna be another book and i for one cannot wait to read it.

I feel as if I’m in a pre-existing relationship with this book that I need to disclose – even though I only just finished it. I know that sounds a bit (possibly more than a bit) odd.

You see, the first book in this series, Goddess With a Blade, was one of the first books I ever got from NetGalley, eight long years ago. I still remember sitting down at my kitchen table to read it, and finished it in one sitting. (To be fair, it’s only 200 pages, for me that’s

Despite its flaws I love this series

Rowen Summerwaite is a Hunter who enforces the Treaty protecting humans from vampires and other supernatural creatures. She is also the embodiment of the Goddess Brigid. Rowen’s husband Clive is a vampire, the head honcho of North America. Her step dad is The First, the first vampire to exist, and so old he’s crazy powerful and sometimes just crazy. Evil forces want the treaty to end and supernatural creatures to have unrestricted use of humans for food and po

Wrath of the Goddess is the fifth, and long awaited book in Lauren Dane’s Goddess of the Blade Series. This book picks up at the wedding reception of Rowan Summerwaite and Clive, the Vampire Scion of North America. Their wedding day should have been filled with joy and happiness, but instead is was shattered by the brutal death of Rowan’s protected friend and servant. As they work together to solve the murder, they discover all is not what it seems. There is something out there hell bent on dest ...more

I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because I had to know what happens next with Rowan and the rest of the characters. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I was personally annoyed by the(in my personal opinion) time/scene jumps(Things tend to move forward/get explained quickly in some parts that made it hard for me personally to know what just happened/where I was within the time line of the storyline it's self). I personally felt like the rest of the storyline flowed e

Rowan is BAAAACK! She and Clive are back in Las Vegas, back in the middle of an investigation, and back in the business of bringing down the "big bads".

Their relationship is deepening and so is their trust in each other. Those are good things because Rowan is rapidly losing the people closest to her. I was so incredibly happy to see Genevieve come back and become one of her sidekicks, not that David, Rowan's valet, will allow her that title (wink, wink). Learning it's okay to allow herself to l

I love this series, and Wrath of the Goddess was an excellent addition to it. But it wasn’t without it’s problems. The most significant being that it was years since the last installment. When I started the book I remembered the general characters, but that was it. I remembered absolutely nothing from the previous book, and while yes the beginning briefly goes over the ending of the last book, it wasn’t enough. I didn’t remember The who, what, when, where, and why. I kept hoping that I would get ...more

It was wonderful to get back to these characters after so long. The storyline was exciting, dramatic and rich with emotion. Rowan is as always, large, incharge and acerbic. Clive is still dark, deadly and impossibly swoon worthy. Together, they are a great couple that is easy to root for and feel a strong connection to. I highly recommend starting this series from book one. Otherwise, I think you will feel lost. I would also advise the same for readers that have read this series before. It has b ...more

Magic, Mayhem and Love all rolled into a good kick ass story. you van read this as a standalone but would be more fun reading the whole series to see what happened to her over her life and how she got to the point she has. ...more

Vampires and witches oh my. This story is about Clive and Rowan. After getting married a dark evil intrudes into their life and kills one of Rowan’s staff. It’s better to read the books in order but you don’t have to. Clive is a protective Vampire that is enough man to handle his Rowan and all the trouble that comes. Did I mention there is a goddess in there to. Hmmmm! This book received 5 stars from me because it was entertaining, and I wanted to see who won in the end. Not to mention the Godde ...more

This is the fifth book in the goddess series. Rowan Summerwaite is a Hunter with the goddess of Brigid within her. Magic has been used to kill her human friend’s. Follow Rowan and her husband vampire Clive as they chase down the web of killers. Is something more sinister going on at higher levels. The story gives good hints to past characters and battles if this is your first delve into the series. There is plenty of battles along the way to keep the excitement high.

Yikes, I've caught up

I hate catching up with series as this book is definitely not the end. The beginning was a bit slow and a bit woe is me. However. When the totally brilliant Genevieve turned up so did the action. I tell you now Ms Dane mess with David,Genevieve, Clive or Alice then you will have more than the wrath of the goddess to worry about. Clive still a silly name but he and Rowan are sweet in a snarky and blood thirsty world. Concentrate and give us the next installment quickly please

Perfect as always

As normal, my love for Clive and Rowan continues. I love how their relationship continues to grow. I also love Genevieve's growing part in this book and hope it continues. The deaths of Rowan's friends was disheartening, but they did emphasize the growing plot against Rowan. These books must be read in order, and I am looking forward to the next book. Keep them coming.

I didn’t realize this book was part of a series at first, so I had to go and read the previous books before I finished this one. I am so glad I did!

Rowan is a badass that any girl or woman can look up to. Clive the that debonnaire Vampyre who you don’t cross for fear of death.

My favorite character though is Theo. The First is the ultimate Vampyre that I would love to see him find a mate that is his match. That would be fun!!!

Lauren Dane has been writing stories since she was able to use a pencil, and before that she used to tell them to people. Of course, she still talks nonstop, and through wonderful fate and good fortune, she’s now able to share what she writes with others. It’s a wonderful life!

The basics: Lauren is a mom, a partner, a best friend and a daughter. Living in the rainy but beautiful Pacific Northwest,
