Releasing the Demons - ★★★★★
Black Bullet - ★★★★★

Holey Guacamole! This book started off with one heck of a bang. Non-stop action right from the start had my adrenaline pumping and I loved the thrills this story provided. The Knights are still battling against the leeches and the war doesn't seem close to ending and so many lives are being lost. The streets are running red and the humans are dying out. Protecting them is a full time job for the Knights and eradicating the dens and the sires seems an almost unattainable goal. But they will never give up. All is not lost although hope is a fickle witch.

Dax isn't in New York. He's in New England helping out his bros in the Trinity clean up a bit. He takes down an entire yacht full of vamps singlehandedly (so hot) and leaves with a hostage. She's everything he's learned to despise - a leech, a monster, the vilest of all creatures. And yet, she's nothing at all like he expected. She's not ferocious or lethal and she has compassion. That shouldn't be there! She has a soul and it draws him ever nearer.

Cindy is on the run. She was once a slave/wife of a powerful Sire and for years she accepted her lot in life. When she finally opened her eyes to her situation, she escaped and as luck would have it, she had some unexpected assistance along the way. But she is far from safe. As long as her sire lives, she will be hunted. However, with Dax, she has never been happier or felt safer in her life and she's not giving him up without a fight.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... The Order of the Senary books are some of the best things I have ever read. Who knew that accepting a review request a few years ago would lead to my discovery of books I'll love forever? I adore the hybrids that L.D. Rose has created and I look forward to every book of this series. Learning more about these amazing people, reading about their adventures and the chaos that seems to follow them everywhere, the action scenes and the brotherhood among them, and the love... These books have everything I could ask for.

"5- Freedom is the power to choose your own chains" Stars!

This book was perfection!
It was dark, edgy, raw, engaging, compelling and addictive.

I absolutely adore the world that L.D. Rose has created, where Vampires have made their presence known and they've let human's know where they stand in the pecking order.
Humanity has retaliated by creating Hybrids (half-human/half vampire) each with their own unique abilities to fight against the vampires.

This is the story of Dax and Cindel.
These two beings should never have met.
They should never have a future.
Dax is a hybrid and Cindel is the mate of his arch enemy.
Their story is dark, dangerous and brutal.
The passion and chemistry they have for one another is raw and pure.
Cindel is like a siren to Dax.
Every part of her calls to him.
Their story is so worth the battle.

This was a fantastic read.
It can be read as a standalone, but I think a reader would get more out of the story if they know the backstory and background to the secondary characters.

If you're looking for a dark, edgy paranormal romance then I highly recommend this book.

The Order of the Senary series by L.D. Rose keeps getting better and better. She continues to do an amazing job combining intriguing worldbuilding, and romance into a story and series that will own your mind and soul.

And addictive, intense, dark, deeply sensual read filled with characters I fell in love with from the minute they walked onto the page. I have wanted to be a part of their world and unique band of friends since I read the first book in the series.

L.D. Rose writes paranormal romances like nobody’s business and with VERMILION LIES she delivers yet another bloody amazing story. My new favorite from the series.

So if you enjoy dark paranormal reads and haven’t picked up THE ORDER OF THE SENARY SERIES yet, then you totally need to change that ASAP because it's freakin’ AH-MAZING! Dark paranormal romance at its best.

You won’t just read this one, you will fall into it and feel it! L.D. Rose is keeping the throttle on the speed of awesome as she takes us back into the world of the Senary with VERMILION LIES.

Dax is one “icy-hot” hybrid, working with the Senary. When out on a mission to help out another hybrid group, he never expected the raging inferno of passion he would feel for one of his sworn enemies, a vampiress named Cindy. Little did he know she was more than a tormented woman fleeing her sire or the world of trouble they would find themselves in even as they fall passionately for one another.

And again, L.D. Rose draws us into her world in a nano-second! She has a gift for storytelling that brings fantasy to life with a gritty flare that is both dark and sinister and engaging and addictive. Are you looking for a hero with honor, a heroine who doesn’t realize just how much she has to offer and a romance that bursts off the pages with intensity? Do you love the eternal battle of good versus evil, not afraid to walk on the dark side of life? This is one of the most mesmerizing, adult paranormal series I have read in a while with characters that are vibrantly colored and real to the imagination!

I received a complimentary ARC edition from L.D. Rose!

The books in L.D. Rose's Order of the Senary series just keep getting better and Vermillion Lies is the best one yet! Rose's writing sucked me in and had me on the edge of my seat all throughout Dax and Cindel's story. I love the way Rose combines romance, action, and the paranormal create Such an addictive story. The entire book is excellently paced and didn't have a single moment that felt slow. I highly recommend this series to fans of PNR. If you're not looking for a series, don't worry. Omgggg this book was INCREDIBLE. I read it in a day and a half. The word is UNPUTDOWNABLE. Vermilion Lies, book 3 of the Order of the Senary, was a complete adrenaline rush. Completely action pack, intense, intriguing, suspenseful and unbelievably passionate. I devoured it and I’m already craving a re read.

L.D. Rose created a paranormal world that I was dying to be part of. Her writing style is impeccable. They way you get suck into this world, this incredible fights, it’s out of this world. You feel inside the book and watch every scene like you are in front of a tv.

Book 3 bring us Dax and Cindel’s story. This is a series of standalones but if you ask me it should be read in order to get the full effect.

The passion and love between Dax and Cindel is intense. You will ache and burn for them. They will leave you breathless.

I can’t wait for book 4. Counting the days until next release. You all can pick this book up on April 17 when it releases.

**** I voluntarily read and review an advance copy of this book.

Because it's better to die on your feet than live on your knees

I loved this book! I loved how well Dax and Cindel fit together. L.D. Rose's undeniable gift for creating strong unforgettable characters sent Vermilion Lies soaring to a 5 star read and one that I had a hard time putting down.

VL Teaser. 🖤 mybook.to/VermilionLies

The book cover speaks volumes. Definitely tailored to fit the story and yummy as well. The visual and atmosphere of the scenes along the cold beach were my favorite. I can just picture turning around and seeing Dax on that boulder. Yea, definitely my favorite scene.

Vermilion Lies stands well on it's own and easy enough to follow along. But once you get a taste of The Order Of The Senary series you're going to want to know more about what happened with Blaze and Jon!

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book, so I could give an honest review.

I adore L.D. Rose’s The Order of the Senary series and have been bouncing in my seat waiting for Vermilion Lies. I needed more of the wonderful world, more of the characters I have come to love, and more of L.D. Rose’s addictive storytelling.

Thus, I jumped straight into Vermilion Lies and devoured it in no time at all.

In truth, it took me slightly longer to get into Vermilion Lies than it took me to get into the prior books in the series. Once I was sucked in, however, my experience was right up there with the other books in the series. I was addicted, I could not put the book down, and I loved every moment of it.

If you have yet to read the prior books in the series, you need to go back and do so. This is one of those hidden paranormal romance gems. The series has so much, it has everything you hope for in the genre, and you’ll find yourself powering through the series in no time at all. With Vermilion Lies, we’re given more of all those things we have come to love so much.

With Vermilion Lies, we dig deeper into the world, building upon the things we have already been introduced to whilst introducing us to more. Not only do we have a great romance wrapped up in this one, we also have new elements introduce to us that will leave us desperate for the next book in the series. In fact, this one has made me more desperate for the rest of the series than I already was – and I was already pretty desperate.

With L.D. Rose’s great writing, with great characters, with wonderful romance, with plenty of action, with new twists, with so much, Vermilion Lies will have you turning the pages at a rapid pace.

Without a doubt, fans of The Order of the Senary need to read Vermilion Lies.

VERMILION LIES is the third book in The Order of the Senary series, and I would highly recommend you read these in order.

This is Dax and Cindel's story. Dax we know from previous books, but Cindel is an unknown. It starts off with her running for her life. She hasn't had the 'best' of relationships, and wants to try out on her own. Fast forward, and we see how that turned out for her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, but not quite as much as the first two... and I don't know why. It was well-written, with plenty of action, steamy scenes and hardships for our main two characters.

I would highly recommend this book, but would also recommend you read the other two first--simply to immerse yourself into their world, and the fantastic writing of L.D. Rose.

ARC REVIEW

L.D. when it comes to Rome, woman, you are a tease!!

Dax gets his big ol' frozen heart thawed out by a sexy little runaway. Oh my goodness this book, the narrative descriptive and the action so easy to visualize in my head so wonderfully written. Characters are well thought out and have just enough angst to make them interesting but not whinny, not to mention these guys have a pretty twisted sense of humor. The bad guys are evil, as they should be, and the good guys sometimes have to do bad things so people live. I absolutely loved this book.

Cindel, aka Cindy, ran away from her evil sire/lover/abuser/vampire ruler of New York and with the help of another particularly evil vampire she broke her ties to him making it impossible for him to find her. For the last three years she's barely survived doing what she has to do for blood, until one night she meets Dax. Having just slaughtered an entire yacht of vampires Dax is more injured than he would have liked and without Cindy's help he would have died on that yacht. Dax doesn't trust her at first but the fragile Cindy proves she can be trusted and that she is somehow like JJ, a vampire who can feel. Seeing how fragile she is Dax starts to teach Cindy how to fight and as Cindy learns her strength and capabilities the attraction between the two grows. When Cindy's life is on the line Dax will risk his own to make sure she's safe.

Overall, this is another fantastic story with great characters and a hot romance; I can not believe I have to wait even longer for Rome's book! Cindy had incredible growth in this book you can see her change from the fragile woman to badass (girl crush!).

As this is the fourth book I've read and loved by Rose, she is an automatic buy for me. Like her previous books, Vermillion Lies has all of the components for a paranormal urban fantasy romance: A very complex yet relatable H/h, a wild ride of a plot with twists and turns that make sense, and steamy sex/love scenes that don't take away from the story, but rather, enhance it.
Dax and Cindy made an awesome couple, and Dax's brothers and friends revealed more of their close bonds as the story progressed (I love these guys)!
Of course there's violence, and much of it is pretty gruesome, as the books center on the Senary's fight against some pretty nasty batshit vampires, after all - but it was all relevant to the story. I particularly loved when the former victim - Cindel/Cindy - took care of one particular 'leech' in a very creative way.
Rose's writing flows, and with the exception of the really traumatic scenes, I found an undercurrent of dark humor throughout this and her other books, which I love.
Now, it's time for me to hound the author on when the next book is coming out (I'll be happy to beta-read another one, Linda)! I'm looking forward to Kasen the healer's story. As an empathic doctor, I'm sure that he can also kick ass with the rest of 'em!

***5 Stars***

I’ve been waiting for a minute for the next book in the series, especially with how Black Bullet ended, and Vermilion Lies did not disappoint! With a few pages things were off and running and I was all in to see what would happen between Dax and Cindel as what would happen to those they hunted, and who hunted them. It was dark, gritty, sweet and smexy and filled with character ~ the good, the bad and the ugly ~ that kept me turning the pages until the very end and has me wanting more.

I didn’t know what to make of Cindel in the beginning, she kind of had this dead woman/vamp walking thing going on, but her strong need to survive ~ no matter what that survival entailed ~ sparked my curiosity and I loved watching her become stronger as the story progressed and finding a sort of peace that broke through the darkness that had settled over her soul. Dax is all kinds of honorable, lethal alpha AF male and that isn’t afraid to put himself in situations that have a high chance of killing him, even with his special abilities. But his loyalty, not only to the cause, but his brothers makes it hard to not love him.

Dax and Cindel’s journey is definitely rocky, especially considering they are technically supposed to be enemies of the highest order, but the protector in Dax ~ along with that inexplicable pull between them ~ keeps them from going for each other’s throats...at least in violence. I liked how they got to know each other and saw exactly who the was (or could be) and found that inexplicable connection that neither could deny. With both of them fighting for their lives, they have quite a few obstacles to overcome, but I loved how they got their HEA in the end.

This was a great addition to the series and I loved how it gave closure to some issues even as it pushed the series forward with all the twists and turns that were dropped throughout the book. I loved catching up with the Knights and seeing where they are all at ~ whether they are coupled up or not ~ but Kayne kinda did it for me and I’m crossing my toes that we’ll see more of him as the series progresses. And as for that ending and tease of what to expect in the next book? Well...I cannot wait to get my hands in it to see just how it will all play out!

I was left absolutely speechless when I finished Vermillion Lies by L. D. Rose. She has packed more action, love, and dark paranormal in this book then you would think is possible. Once you start it you won’t be able to put it down. This story about Dax and Cindel is very intense. They are supposed to be enemies, but they both become lovestruck. They end up not only fighting the attraction to each other but are battling with the rogue vampires to protect the humans. This is a deep dark paranormal series and each book just draws you in deeper. I have loved them all and highly recommend that you start reading them now. I can’t wait for the next one. Kudos to L. D. Rose.

In hindsight, I should have re-read the series. I realized I had forgotten so much. In the just the first few pages, I was feeling like I needed a re-fresher.

I spent at least the first half of the book wanting to punch Dax in the face. And Cindel would just never do what I wanted her to do. LOL. I love it when that happens. I want to read the stories that don't go the way I think they should. I want to be dropped into a place that's really outside of my head. Thank you.

If you pick this series up, you need to be in the mood for violence. For real. There's a lot and it's graphic.

The romance was sweet. I enjoyed the intensity of emotion from Dax. He really grew throughout the story, and I appreciated watching that unfold. I also enjoyed the way Dax and Blaze related to each other. It seemed very real the way they connected and how they spoke and thought of each other. I'm feeling ready to spend more time with Rome though.

I liked this story. Solid like. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 3 because I got so sucked in. I wanted to read it each day. Just like the other books, it was easy to slip into this world and hang out with these characters.

This is book 3 in The Order of the Senary series and it's Dax Knight's story. Dax is in New England helping to battle the vampire forces. Cindel is a vampire who is on the run from her sire.
When Dax and Cindel meet the attraction is instant and intense.
This book has it all - action, suspense, paranormal and passion and just like the first 2 books in the series this one will suck you in.
L.D. Rose is a brilliant writer and her stories flow so well. I have enjoyed this series and will definitely be reading more.

An action-packed thrill ride of epic proportions! This is right up my alley in the supernatural realm with the terrific writing and electrifying storyline. Bloody mayhem abounds as the vampire queen, Cindel, runs from the omnipresence of the evil Russian vampire king and her sire, Alek, and ends up in the arms of a swoon-worthy hybrid, Dax. What a sizzling pair they are after he gets over her being a leech and she learns to trust him and becomes his Cindy. This is the first story I've read in the series and I loved it. The spectacular world the author created with the invasion of vampires and the only force stopping them from destroying mankind is the Senary, comprised of hybrids and other supernaturals, is marvelous and scary. The hybrid Knight brothers and sisters have awesome unique powers like Dax and his ability to manifest freeze hence his nickname Frosty. He's a first rate, panty-melting hero with his chi powers and sexy body. Dax's is terrific as he protects Cindy and teaches her to stand strong as she turns from a delicate, used creature to a kickass heroine all the while their sexy love blossoms. But will Dax be able to keep her safe from her past and his brothers? There's also the Trinity and the hilarious leprechaun, Kayne, that assists the Senary in there quest to take down the evil vampires. The camaraderie between the guys is wonderful and funny and adds some levity to the gruesome fighting and blood baths that ensue. It's all hands on deck when Dax is captured and tortured by Alek in his quest for power and the return of his queen. A few heart-stopping moments and an exciting ending with tons of fighting and super powers in full force. Just fantastic! I'm looking forward to the next story while I catch up on the first two. What I enjoy most about this series is it's continuity. Each book focuses on a new perspective, a new plot, however links back to the previous characters therefor giving more depth and meaning. Vermilion lies' plot follows Ciny/Cindel discovering herself. Cindy starts as a shy "used, tortured" soul, however by the end she is a new woman, all thanks to Dax and his guidance.

Cindel is a very tortured character, broken from years of abuse, feeling beaten and worthless. That is until she meets Dax, a hybrid with a sudden need to protect this vampire, a leech. Going against his better judgement Dax begins to find solace in this woman. However the lies and previous bonds are nothing compared to the new challenges these two now have to face.

I found this book to have a slower start than the previous two. I do not blame that on L.D Rose' writing style, in fact the authors skilful writing has kept me engrossed from start to finish in other books she has published.
I believe the beginning was slow due to the amount of introduction, dialogue and content needed to explain Cindy/Cindel's background, as well as the way Dax and Cindy meet.
Although slow, it was essential for the story, well thought out and structured.

About 40% of the way through I was extremely interested, the book had taken a dangerous and passionate turn. I loved the banter between Dax and his friend Kayne. My favourite part being Dax trying to impersonate an irish accent to annoy Kayne, this scene in particular even had me giggling out loud. And the banter does not stop there, Dax continues to push the buttons of his fellow "brothers" throughout the book.

Overall I enjoyed this book and give it a 4/5 stars. I loved the previous books, especially number 1 with Blaze as the lead male being my particular favourite.

Help. I've suffered a book coma! Vermilion Lies left me reeling and has ruined me for all other vampire themed books. If you're looking for a super fast paced, gut punching novel, this is the one for you.

Let's revisit my statement about book coma, shall we?

It's not uncommon for the author, L.D. Rose, to totally make me feel for the characters that she writes. She has a knack for writing fast paced action and for writing lust inducing heroes. Or shall I say, unconventional heroes. Because what's cooler than vampire hybrids kicking evil vampire butt?

Rose's heroes and heroines are tattered, bruised, and brutally put through torture. It's a dark dystopian type world that the Senary (our heroes) live in. Where humans are few and vampires (or leeches as they're referenced in the series) have taken over cities.

Each of the Senary hybrids have certain talents that have manifested within themselves. In Dax's case, his ability is to conjure ice from his hands. (Whereas, for example, in Releasing the Demons, Blaze had the ability of fire).

"Cindel looked at the hybrid with new perspective, tuning into the dark aura radiating from his pores. It eddied around him like a storm, a maelstrom of blue, and the deeper it went, the colder it became, much like the open ocean itself."

Dax's vampire hunting leads him to Cindel. An equally tortured soul who happens to be a vampire and because of that, persona non grata to all of the Senary. They're chemistry was on fire! (or should I say ice cold in this instance?), and of course you'll encounter that famous trope of enemies to lovers. Cindel, is a little strange, in that for a vampire, she's actually more human in emotions and crying. But despite my description of her, she is a very deep character who has been tortured and abused by her sire (the main baddie in this story).

Both Dax and Cindel push the limits of their attraction and lot's of sizzling scenes are to be had. While most of the story revolves around them, it's always a pleasure to revisit the other characters like Blaze and Jon from the previous 2 books. I love the camaraderie of the Senary. Their banter, nicknames for each other, and tight knit bonds.

From beginning to the end, this book was filled to brim with action--bloody action. Gore. So much gore. But I'm not complaining. It's written well, and that's just what you expect with this kind of setting.

So yeah, I forgot. Book coma.

By the time I finished this book, I pretty much experienced a whole gamut of emotions. Just like the characters in this book, I too left bruised and battered. But in a good way. At the risk of spoiling anything, Dax goes through A LOT in this book. It's heartbreaking.

I do believe this series can be read out of order. Everything is presented in a way that would make sense if you just picked it up.

VERMILION LIES is book #3 in The Order of the Senary series. I suppose each book could be a standalone but reading the series in order really enhances the storyline.

Cindel, a vampiress in an apocalyptic world, is on the run from her brutal husband/sire. She's basically escaped one prison for another, though, since her new captor is her pimp. So when she meets a Knight of the Senary, Dax, she desperately convinces him to take her. Dax is a hybrid, part vampire, part...something else. He takes Cindel as a prisoner but he quickly learns that she's very different from the vamps he usually kills.

Being a huge fan of J.R. Ward's BDB series, it's sometimes hard for me to enjoy other vampire stories but I gotta say, I'm completely invested in this series! The Knights of the Senary are heroes, yes, but they're not without flaws. And I FLOVED Dax. He was absolutely everything that I adore in a main character: alpha (but not a jerk), strong, loyal, sexy, smart, funny. In other words, my heart was tripping all over the place for him! But Cindel was such a fabulous character, too. Her life was one disaster after another, heartbreak after heartbreak. Yet, she preserved, she grew confident and strong. In some ways, she almost seemed naive while in others, incredibly jaded. Then once Dax and Cindy came together, they were completely sure of each other, there was no back and forth which was awesome.

L.D. Rose created a spectacularly dark world ruled by vampires, one where humans are the prey. It's an intricate plot, written so well, I had to pry my eyes from the words just so I could get everyday things done! This series is simply outstanding and highly recommended. Told from dual POVs with a super sweet ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Amount of sex 3 / 5
How explicit are the sex scenes 3 / 5
Story 4.5 / 5
Overall: 4.5 / 5

Vermilion Lies is the third book in the Order of the Senary series written by author LD Rose. Even though each book centers on a different couple, I believe it’s best to read the series from the beginning. This will allow you to have the background knowledge to fully appreciate and understand Dax and Cindel’s story.

Dax is a vampire hybrid and part of the Order of the Senary who hunts and kills the evil Strigoi, which are born vampires. While on a mission, he finds Cindel (Cindy), a turned vampire, amongst the Strigoi. After the battle, Cindy asked Dax to take her with him. He does not trust Cindy, and it takes some time for Dax to realize that she is not the enemy. I really enjoyed this story and have to say that their chemistry was pretty dang hot!

Vermilion Lies storyline was well developed, gripping, and steamy! I enjoyed being back in the Order of the Senary world and loved hearing from all the characters from the first two books. This was my favorite so far in the series, and I had a hard time putting my Kindle down. I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series!

Dark, gritty, fast-paced PNR!
Vermilion Lies is set in a dark and gritty world of vampires and the hybrids who are humanity's last hope. The world-building is detailed and the writing is stellar--I felt like I was in the book, living the story along with Cindel & Dax.
Cindel will melt your heart as she slowly comes into her own power after escaping her abusive sire and finds love with Dax.
If you like your paranormal romance dark and edgy, this book is a must-read.

Vermilion Lies by L.D. Rose a four-star read that will rock you. This is the third novel in the Order of the Senary but each one can be read as stand-alone, but in my opinion I would advise reading them in order as I have and I feel I have gotten the most of them this way. This is fast paced and brutal at times the pace is so quick, it will leave you breathless. This one will have you wanting to be violent to a certain character as well as imagining the brutal violence that this story is full of, but its also got heart that will surprise you. This has been a great series, and this is a great story.

L.D. Rose does an excellent job with this book. While it may be the 3rd installment of this series, Vermillion Lies can be read as a stand alone. In all actuality, it makes me want to go find the other 2 and read them. Not because I'm missing something, but because the storyline is captivating and the writer is very talented in drawing you in.

Dax brings to mind "Cool Hand Luke" on so many levels. Tough, disciplined, but still a rebel at heart.
That is, if his heart was actually completely there. Dax is a hybrid, a member of a very important band of brothers that had the very important mission of freeing the world of the Blood sucking leeches that have taken the world hostage . Vampires are real, and Dax's objective of ridding the world of the scourge is being tested when he happens upon an anomaly he can't figure out. He's drawn to Cindy, but knows she can't be what he's imagining. She's a vampire, not born, but made. And she shows Dax that not all who are "changed" are monsters.

Another great book from the Order of the Senary. The world the author creates is complex, full of action and mistery surrounding the members of the Senary, very deadly vampires and innocent humans. This time Dax is on a mission working with the Trinity and hell breaks loose when he kills one of the bad guys and takes a hostage with him. There’s so much action and suspense but also fun and loving characters. Things explode (vampires included) and the war between the vamps and the hybrids is in full swing. Loved it from beginning to end.

The Order of the Senary is one of those series, that just gets better with each book. The first one was good, the second one was even better and now Vermilion Lies is the best one so far. :)

Set in a world where vampires are basically taking over and fighting back are genetically engineers vampire/human hybrids - the knights. Each book follows one of them. Vermilion Lies is the story of Dax. Dax is away from his brothers, in New England helping out. One of his Missions he stumbles on Cindel and can't let her go. Cindel was torchered and beaten around since she can remember. First, it was her husband and after she escaped him, she got from bad to worse, forced to sell herself until she stumbled on Dax.

They have trouble trusting each other, but sparks fly and when she finally reveals who he really is, and what she knows... OMG. :)

There is something about there books, that are so addictive. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it back down. It pulls you from the very start and you just have to read what happens next.:) And the ending was just ... I can't wait for the next one. :)

Highly recommend it!

FINALLY!! Dax's book!!!

L. D. Rose writes action-packed, paranormal romance. A genre I don't typically read, but cannot get enough of when they're written by her.

Vermilion Lies is literally a can't-put-down, stay-up-all-night-reading kind of book. It's addictive, fast-paced and captivating.

Dax and Cindel's story left me breathless and in complete awe of Rose's talent.

While this series of books can be read as standalones, I STRONGLY suggest going in order so you don't miss a single thing.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I have given this book four out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I've really enjoyed learning about the vampire and hybrid world that L.D. Rose has created. One of my favourite parts is how each book continues from the previous one. They focus on different characters, plot and world building however they all manage to link back to the previous characters from the other books.
Out of the three books from The Order of the Senary series, this book was definitely the hardest to get into. There was a lot of information that we need to learn about the characters and their backgrounds before getting into the nitty gritty parts of the book. Besides the introduction to the characters and plot being very long, I really enjoyed L.D. Rose's writing style (once again!) and the amount of detail she has put into these books.
I really liked the connection between the two main characters; Dax and Cindel. They have so much passion between each other, despite the fact that they shouldn't be together makes it all the more steamy and sexy. I loved seeing the incredible transformation of Cindel from being a very fragile woman to becoming a complete strong badass of a character! The humour specifically between Dax and Kayne had me reeling throughout! I absolutely adore their friendship with one another and would love to have had more scenes of just the two of them to be honest.
I can't wait to read the next instalment in this series!

Vermilion Lies (The Order of the Senary Series Book 3) by L.D. Rose is another amazing book in The Order of the Senary series. I love this series and the hybrid characters, I have fallen in love with each and every one of them. I love the dark and broody males but I also love the equally tough women who like their male counterparts will stop at nothing to protect those they love and consider family and help to take down the evil infestation of the world. J.D stories are enthralling, engaging and thrilling and leave you wanting more. This story is full of action and danger, drama and lies and is compelling. This book had me on the edge of my seat and often my heart in my throat as they are put through their paces but there is also a level of fun between the brothership of the Senary. The darkness, the edginess, the rawness and intrigue bring it all together to bring us something truly wonderful.

If you love something dark, chilling, thrilling then look no further. This is one series that will hook you and keep you invested. I look forward to reading the next book and what she brings us next.
