This book suffers somewhat from sophomore slump, methinks, though I do plan to continue on in the series. I think I would give this a 3.5/4 star for the relationship between Elisa & Connor progressing and a 2.5 star for the plot itself. That dichotomy makes for a somewhat conflicted reading experience for me, but overall, I'm still invested in seeing where these characters go

While not as intense as the Wild Hunger, I quickly slipped in and enjoyed the characters, mystery and strange happens in this secular clan. The pack bought an old resort and live as humans choosing not to come out as others have. The older members are set in their ways and it’s caused issues with the newer generation.

The mystery involved the death of pack members. Conner and Elisa investigate and trouble follows. Elisa struggles to contain her inner “beast” and a battle with transformed

Chloe Neill has released another book in the Heirs of Chicagoland series. WICKED HOUR continues the fun antics following Elisa Sullivan and her merry crew. I think Neill does a very good job of keeping with the style that so many readers have fallen in love with in this series, so I did enjoy reading about Elisa again.

It was a bit of a slow start for me in the beginning. But I do feel like once we kind of get into the action a bit more, things do pick up more.

Neill pays special attention to

I was really looking forward to this book, as I liked the first book a lot.

This book started out pretty good and strong but at the 30-40% mark it just went downhill and had a hard time ti recover from that.

One I thought as we leaping Chicago we get a little more action on the road and we do get some, but we also get some long and a bit boring politics. Some parts are just a

The Heirs of Chicagoland series continues with a new adventure where we get Connor and Elisa spending a lot more time together on a trip out of town. Connor is going to a Pack event and takes her along as his date. They haven't spent much time, even as friends as adults so an out-of-town trip seems odd.

The previous book, Wild

*Thoughts*

Wicked Hour is the Second installment in author Chloe Neill's Heirs of Chicagoland series. 23-year old Elisa Sullivan is an unaffiliated rogue born vampire living in the city of Chicago where Houses are everything. She lives with her best friend Lulu Bell who has refused to use any of her witch powers as live normally. Elisa works for the Ombudsman office where her grandfather once worked but the work is quite boring. Also,

I really like Elisa/Connor as a couple and am enjoying this series far more than the previous one. I wasn’t as interested in the main paranormal mystery subplot, though.

I received this ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest and voluntary review. I was in no way compensated for this review.

Chloe Neill returns to Chicago once again with the latest in the Heirs of Chicagoland series, Wicked Hour. This continues Elisa and Connor’s story in what’s sure to be an all-around entertaining series! This series is very much the child of the Chicagoland Vampires series as it has that same kind of feel to the story, yet it’s entirely its own. There’s still the same

Chloe Neill's second book in her Heirs of Chicagoland spinoff series finds Elisa and Connor heading on a road trip to visit Pack in the wilds of Minnesota. What starts out as a trip to formally initiate a new(born) shifter into the Pack quickly turns into Elisa and Connor investigating attacks purportedly carried out by a mysterious, mythological creature. Elisa and Connor become embroiled in a struggle for power and control that could ultimately become their undoing.

Wicked Hour by Chloe Neill is the 2nd book in her Heirs of Chicagoland series. I looked forward to reading this book, especially after I loved the first book, Wild Hunger. I am happy to say Wicked Hour was equally as good as the first book, and I cannot wait to continue reading more of this wonderful series.

Refresher: Elisa Sullivan, our heroine, is the only vampire child ever born, and her parents are the powerful leaders of the American vampires that lead the Chicagoland series. Connor Keen,

Wicked Hour is the second novel in the Heirs of Chicagoland series by Chloe Neill. And yes, the entire series is a spin-off of her famous Chicagoland series, in case that wasn't obvious. Fans of her writing are going to love this latest addition to her world.
There's a private event happening in Pack territory back in Minnesota, that's nothing new or surprising. What is surprising is that Conner has

TLDR: More of the same, only not as good. And hot dish is somehow still a thing that exists (sorry, Minnesota).

I gave this book 3 stars. It wasn't a painful read, but it's all been done before with more heart in this same series. But the monster mystery is enough to keep me around for the next book.

This book was mostly a retread of events from the previous series. And the Minnesota supernaturals were just a more boring version of the Chicago supernaturals. Did they drive six hundred miles just

The only born not made vampire in existence, Elisa Sullivan grew up the privileged daughter of a master vampire and his sentinel wife in Chicago. After spending time in France for education and distance from the confines and demands of such a heritage, Elisa decides to stay in Chicago; however, she has a very big secret weighing heavily. Connor Keene, son and prince of the Apex leader to the shifter pack, has known Elisa her whole life. In the previous book, it became clear that Elisa and Connor ...more

This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Wicked Hour is the second book in the Heirs of Chicagoland series. We've moved on from Merit and Ethan and now follow there daughter Elisa. In Wicked Hour, we've moved out of Chicago and into the woods of Minnesota. It really helps to establish Elisa as her own character, apart from Cadogan House.

More of a 3.5 rating, but I rounded up.

I have mixed feelings about this book to be honest. I wanted Connor and Elisa and I got them. They were everything, cute, flirty, testing out the limits of their blossoming relationship. I would've wished for a little more action of the naked variety *wink*, but it was cute and given that there are at least two more books announced in the series, it felt right for them to take things slow.

The story itself was a little underwhelming. Shifters are always

Great series (both the original about her parents and now this spin-off). This is a slow burn, for the romance and for the character development. Elisa and Conner are definitely together and growing closer in each book, but they’re not in a rush, probably because they both sense this is something important and not a casual fling. Plus, aspects of their lives keep getting in the way (shifter and vampire drama). I love both the characters, and the side characters too. Elisa is slowly coming to ...more

This is the second book starring Elisa Sullivan and Connor Keene. They resolved their childhood issues in the first in this series but now are wondering if they can have a romantic relationship being that she's a vampire and he's a werewolf and the next Apex of the clan. When Connor is invited to a christening in Grand Bay, Minnesota, in a pack that is still hiding its supernatural heritage from the rest of the world, he asks Elisa to ride along on his motorcycle. If you've been following me for a while, you know I love Chloe Neill, I was more than eager to find Elisa and Connor in this second book of the series dedicated to them.
In the first book, there was a small connection between Elisa and Connor, who are respectively a vampire and a werewolf.
In Wicked Hour, Connor asks Elisa to accompany him to Minnesota on a pack business. In other words, everything will be complicated, not only must Connor get the Minnesota pack to admit Elisa, which is quite

I loved seeing the new generation, to see how different and the same they are to their parents. Connor seems to be settling into who he is becoming, not the brat he was. Elisa, much the same. I like that both of them are aware of their past, their present and where the future could take them and how they talk about it. I thought it telling how at times each of them thought the other was thinking bad about them, but when asked it turned out they were in awe.

All the pack drama was nuts. I hated

WILD HUNGER started off strong but left us wanting more about Elisa and Connor... WICKED HOUR responds to that need, by developping the main characters' chemistry, which is - ouch - SIZZLING !!! I love their banter and how they learn to rediscover their new more adult sides.

This was a great second book in the next phase of the Chicagoland Vampire and North American clans. We are now dealing with the children of our favorite couples and they are adults.

I loved this book.

It was great to see Elisa and Connor thrown into a Pack Mess and watch them as they put their upbringing and intelligence to use. They seem to be mature beyond their years and it just goes to show that they both had wonderful parents who instilled a great moral compass, along with strong

I loved seeing Elisa and Connor grow as individuals and as a budding couple, they have known each other their whole lives while being forced together by their parents and are now seeing each other for who they really are.

Wicked Hour by Chloe Neill is the second in her spin-off series to Chicagoland Vampires, Heirs.

I feel a little behind the 8-ball here, not having read the first Heirs book, Wild Hunger. But I’ll be fixing that soon.

This book starts with a slow build-up to the action, but Neill is a master at bringing the characters out, developing the world they inhabit, fleshing them fully until you are feeling with them.

Elise and Connor are trying to move forward in a potential relationship, and Connor even

I love the original Chicagoland Vampires series and the spin offs have not disappointed. While this lack the fluid storytelling of the original series, I really like where this is heading and there are some juicy plots being started in this book that I can't wait to learn more about further down the line.

The book takes some time to get going and it seems to feel rushed at the end. I think too much was being added on the sides of the main plot and it felt like page filler, which meant the end was
