Connectivity #3

Complement

Rate this book
Having grown up under the shadow of his younger sister, Nick had to rely on the support of his friends and baseball teammates to help him navigate his way through high school. But when things with his best friend come crumbling down around his feet, Nick makes a decision that will change his life forever—he packs up his things and moves away for college, leaving his old life behind, determined to start fresh.
Striking out on his own in his new self-created life, Nick’s new hobby inadvertently lands him in the hospital and right into the arms of a young man claiming to be his soul mate. Right from the start, Nick can’t deny the Connection he and Ash seem to share; however, other things come to light that will test their fragile new Connection to its limits.
Nick is not only forced to come to terms with the fact that his soul mate is a boy but a boy who is transgender and struggles with his own sense of self as he transitions and fights to become the person he knows himself to be inside.
Can Nick handle being Connected to someone with as many issues as Ash seems to have? Can their relationship still flourish and allow them to find the happiness that fate and their Connective pairing have led them to? How will they deal with learning to love each other when one of them has trouble even loving himself?

Whitney Cannon is an up and coming author with a love for gay romance novels. Over the years, her love for reading LGBT fiction and romance turned into a desire to write her own stories and characters, and she has developed a passion for writing books in the Young Adult genre. She feels that there is a need for more representation and visibility in the teen and young adult categories for LGBT fiction and hopes to provide anyone willing to read her work with a sweet story and a happy ending.

Many young people in the LGBT community find themselves looking for an outlet or a source for others who are like them, who share a commonality with them, either real or fictitious, and Whitney hopes to be able to create characters who are likable and relatable to young readers. It’s one of her goals to give those who either can’t come out or aren’t ready to come out, something to read that will shine a more positive light on whatever situation they may find themselves in.

Every person deserves a happy ending, even if that person is only in the pages of a book.

I love this series of books. They are perfect for the YA audience but enjoyable to all ages looking for a sweet romance with a different twist. Nick is hoping to get his life together only to be blindsided by finding his own complement. There is angst as he needs to accept Ash for who he is. I don't like to give spoilers so I won't do that here but I really recommend this book. You should read 1 and 2 before this one but they are all good relaxing reads with an interesting twist on finding "the one."

What a wonderful addiction to this amazing series! What better way to show growth of a character than having them learn the meaning of unconditional love. Sometimes falling in love can be unexpected, and so can the person we fall in love with. I highly recommend this book for everyone to read and enjoy.

Sweet story

Learning to love, unconditionally. This is a sweet series about the special Connection between souls, disregarding the wrapping and loving the person within. Awesome series with a unique idea about true mates. Low heat rating, but excellent sweet YA romance.

I read this book first because the story summary sounded the most interesting. Having enjoyed this book immensely, I’ll start in the first book in the series now. A touching story that gets 5 stars but a half star off for poor editing. Lots and lots of typos.

Nick is working to find himself once he goes to college. Ash is also find himself but in a different way. As their connection grows, both must figure out who they are with each other and what their future is.

These books are sweet, love stories with low heat which is the perfect combination for YA books.
