Pretty good. Needed more sizzle.
I really enjoyed the premise of the story. Holiday time is the perfect time to give to others and that’s what this book is all about.

However, things didn’t quite go so well for me with the story. I really did not connect well with the female lead, Olivia. She was rude and abrupt and acted as if she was owed something just because she ran a nonprofit. While that is a big part of the story, just the way it came off to me was not pleasing.

Love the cover! So beautiful and cozy looking!

What an AWESOME Story! I highly recommend reading it.
Very well written and amazing characters that intertwine with each other so well. A story that shows you what is really important in life. Loved every minute of it and hated to see it end!

A sweet Christmas read where a non profit organization run by Livi lost a major donation made by the Hightower companies run by Guy and there were words exchanged. Until serendipity played a part, and Guy was stranded in her town a few days before Christmas. False identity, final reveal, and love finding its way made this book complete.

Sheila Roberts has written a fun story where the pages turned fast. Warmth and cheer of Christmas could be felt as sweet as the chocolate fruitcake that the duo

Christmas from he Heart by Sheila Roberts

A contemporary Christmas romance. Sweet and touching.

Altruism (with a deep secret in the past - very minor plot point that I would have liked to see expanded).
Heart: the method of selecting the fruit cake baker was especially lovely and charitable.
Love: to settle for what is comfortable or stretch for more is the question of the hour.

No spoilers but this one went down to the wire. I would have liked to see pieces come together sooner. I really

This book was so disappointing! I usually love this author's books, especially the Christmas ones. The characters were SO unlikeable! Olivia was super annoying and entitled. Harpy, and nagging and expected and demanded Guy hand over money. Major guilt trips. Basically, business men and people with money = bad. Bad, terrible people. Never mind the judgy mcjudy. And let's talk about how she led Morris on. If someone so obviously loves you, you can't be friends, and use him to do your bidding and ...more

I truly enjoyed reading Christmas From the Heart and found it to be a completely entertaining and charming story. Sheila Roberts is known for her warm-hearted, small town romances and this story is an excellent example of her wonderfully descriptive “feel good” writing style. This standalone contemporary romance book is a fast paced, funny and really satisfying story that makes the perfect read for a quiet, cozy weekend.

Christmas From the Heart
By: Sheila Roberts

Christmas From the Heart is a charming story. Olivia runs a charity for the poor, but the loss of her biggest donor is a blow. Guy owns the company that normally makes the big donation to Olivia's charity. His company is in trouble, thus no money to give, but no one knows about it. Circumstances bring Olivia and Guy together, and a relationship develops. What happens when they realize the connection between them? It's a sweet holiday story

Many thanks to Mira Books and #NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book. What follows is my unbiased review.

It's never too early to read a touching Christmas story that has a focus on kindness and building community and Sheila Roberts has done a great job in this novel set in the community of Pine River.

Livi Berg and her father are still grieving the death of their mother and wife and the non-profit group Christmas From the Heart, is Livi's way of honoring her mother and the

I love reading feel-good, Christmas stories and even though it is only October, I have started enjoying this seasons batch. Christmas From the Heart fits the bill nicely. Olivia Berg runs a non-profit called Christmas From the Heart and is in a fix this year. Their main contributor, Hightower Enterprises, has decided not to donate to the charity this year, leaving them high and dry. When Guy Hightower ends up in Pine River after his fancy, foreign car breaks down, he learns that Olivia is not ...more

This was a nice Christmas book. Olivia is the head of a non-profit group that serves a small Washington town during the holidays. Guy is the financial officer of a company that has given generously until the current year. They hate each other, then actually meet.

Things I liked: I liked the town and I liked seeing how people of all ages and classes contributed to a good cause. I liked seeing a glimpse of another, simpler world through Guy's eyes. The fruitcake/fundraising night was a special

Take a small town, Pine River, add a generous hearted girl, a Scrooge like Corporate rich guy, and a lovestruck country boy and what do you have? Another hit by author Sheila Roberts! This story warmed my heart and got me thinking of Christmas even in this 100 degree weather in Alabama. Olivia Berg is head of a non-profit called Christmas from the Heart. She works all year with small pay trying to raise money to make the holidays a little merrier for the folks in Pine River and surrounding areas ...more

Christmas from the Heart is a heartwarming read that gave me Debbie Macomber vibes. Perfect for the holidays. This book is just like a Hallmark movie. So grab a copy of this book as you are in for a real holiday treat.

Olivia is a doll. She really has a kind heart and everyone loves her. She is not a "leech" as Guy so called her when she asked for the annual monetary donation. Guy was kind of like Ebenezor Scrooge in the beginning. However, by the end of the book; Guy turned out to be a nice

This one was a quick read. When something has the word Christmas in it, I'm immediately drawn to it.

In this one the book revolved around a charity, Christmas From The Heart.

Olivia was trying to ensure what her mother started and keep it going so that everyone had something for Christmas. One of her big donors decides to give a much smaller amount. Olivia does everything she can to try to get them to recommit, but is unsuccessful.

She picks up a guy on the side of the road who is stranded and is

Christmas from the heart was sweet story with the spirit of the festive time of the year, about money issues, trust, hope and righting the wrongs.

Both main characters were sweet but hard on business trying to save their organisations. The one getting corporate family own company back into shape and the other one getting enough funds for non-profit charitable organisation "Christmas from the heart."

When Guy Hightower cut the compensation for Livy Berg's organisation she wasn't happy. She tried to

If you are a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies than this is the book for you! I can easily see this one as the plot to a movie. Guy turns down a charity donation to Olivia and now her charity can't fulfill their mission to provide Christmas gifts and food to the less fortunate in her small town. And when Guy's flashy car breaks down on the side of the road who should happen to pick him up? This was a clean but predictable holiday romance to get people in the holiday spirit.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for my fair and honest review.

I have read several of Sheila Roberts books, and I really enjoyed this one. Olivia runs a charity and Guy has taken over as the CFO of his families business. Sparks fly from the beginning before these two ever meet in person. I found the story well written, and spoke to my heart concerning the vast difference in todays world of the haves and have nots. Can these two people from totally different backgrounds, find a

Christmas from the Heart is a sweet, feel-good holiday-themed romance set in an idyllic small town with an absolutely adorable ending. The premise is promising--an enemies-to-lovers romance set at Christmas? Yes, please! And the story got off to a great start with the two leads, Guy and Livi's increasingly snarky email exchange. I might have snort-laughed at that point, at least a little.

So...great start, sweet ending. The middle, though, tended

The only trouble is... this year it has been very difficult raising the money to make this possible. To cap it all, the Hightower corporation have refused to give any donation, and they have been the main contributors since her grandmother's time.

Olivia Berg's charity, Christmas From The Heart, provides some much needed holiday cheer in the small town of Pine River. But her charity relies on the donations from companies like Hightower Enterprises, so when Hightower's CFO, Guy, informs her they can no longer provide their large annual donation, he becomes Olivia's personification of the Grinch. When Guy's car breaks down outside of Pine River he ends up being helped by Olivia, who has no idea who he is. He decides to keep her in the dark ...more

One quarter through the book and the two protagonists, who we know will desperately fall in love, did not even meet yet! Instead we got a view into holier than holy Olivia's daily life, where she pesters people to donate to her charity. I mean - *gee* - you don't donate (enough)? You're a scrooge! So is the CEO of a big company that struggles this year and thus had to clench down on their donation budget. How dare they! I mean - people will starve to death if they do not get their Christmas ...more

Olivia Berg carries a great deal of pride and takes her responsibility seriously for her family's charity, Christmas from the Heart. She's the third generation of women to head the charity and she's determined to make her late mother proud. So she's more than shocked when the CFO of Hightower Enterprises denies her request for a donation. You see, this may be Olivia's first Christmas to officially help the less fortunate in Pine River, but Hightower has been generously supporting the charity ...more

Unfortunately, most of the story fell flat for me in both style and character content. Personally, I prefer to have my POV changes clearly marked and honestly even better if divided up by chapter.
As for characters, I didn’t mind Guy as a lead. Overall, he was pretty cookie-cutter and predictable but I can handle that. Side note: the fake name thing went on too long. Most of my issues involve Olivia. Now, reviewing is inherently subjective so there are readers out there that will enjoy her. I

Olivia Berg runs Christmas from the Heart, a charity which over many years has helped families at Christmas in the small town outside of Seattle called Pine River. One of the more significant contributors over the years has been Hightower Enterprises, now run by Guy Hightower. This year, however, Guy has chosen to contribute money to other charitable organizations. Olivia fears that as a result Christmas will not be the same for many Pine River residents.
