Jesse wilder served as a confederate soldier in the Civil War. Captured and taken to a death camp, he had two choices. He could starve to death on molded bread and yellow water, or help the Union Army. He chose the later, only to be snubbed by his hometown. He ended up in Mexico with a friend to help fight and free their people. A good book, a little more battles than I wanted to read about, but all in all a good story.
