Well, I like Kipling as a writer. Some of these stories are fantastic. The only reason that I don't give it a 5 star rating is that these stories are inevitably dated - for instance the humour in one story turns on an Irish Catholic meeting an Indian Hindu. I guess if you lived in late 19th century India this would be hilarious, but I'm afraid it past me by. Never mind. Kipling is a cracking writer and these are mostly amusing tales.
