ABOUT THE
These bestselling romance authors have teamed up to bring you this fabulous romantic suspense and romantic comedy boxed set of royal and aristocratic billionaires! Hope you like it!
Blair Babylon is the nom de plume of an award-winning, USA Today-bestselling author who used to publish literary fiction. Because professional reviews of her other fiction usually included the caveat that there was too much deviant sex and too much interesting plot, she decided to abandon all literary pretensions, let her freak flag fly, and write hot, sexy, erotic romance.
03/20/19 boxset currently free includes: STIFF DRINK by Blair Babylon BAD KING by M. Malone A SOCIETY OF DUKES by Gina Robinson HIS TO PRINCESS by Theodora Taylor and Bianca Pierce HOT SEAL BRIDE by Lynn Raye Harris THE DUKE WHO KNEW TOO MUCH by Grace Callaway MR. BIG by Nana Malone
I want to be clear: I only read the first "complete story" and the pace (for me) was really slow. I found myself thinking, "Just tell her already!!" but of course, that never happened because the story didn't end! Maybe I missed the entire point however I was not happy. Having said that, the story was well written, just not for me. Other reviews give this story high praise so that gives it credibility; it just wasn't fast-paced enough for me. I didn't read any of the other stories as I was upset with the non-ending, however I will go back and try to read another one of these days. Sorry, authors.
4 " all hot books stars"! What a great bundle of Hot books !! All 7 books were sexy, and fun ,hot too!! All got 4 stars from me ! Why not 5 ? Some a little too long when u get 40 chapters it gets a little crazy for me .. But I loved them all!
So far, the only book in this set that I've read is Stiff Drink by Blair Babylon so my rating is based on that book. What a fantastic slow-burn story.
It's a little hard for me to explain how much and why I like books by Blair Babylon. As a general rule, I hate books with cliffhangers (please don't stop reading yet) but her stories are so compelling I just can't stay away from them and – this is important – she doesn't make you wait more than a few months for the next book. Since Stiff Drink was originally published individually back in 2017, the conclusion, Hard Liquor, is available now.
I appreciate it when other reviewers mention that a book has a cliffhanger, so I feel compelled to do the same but I implore you to give Blair's writing a chance. She is a superb storyteller. Her writing is witty, funny, tear-inducing, snarky (at times) and she uses words that challenge my vocabulary. Her Billionaires in Disguise: Rae series (available right now for free) remains one of my all-time favorite books.
Now for something about Stiff Drink. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with Gen's character. She's trying so hard to be British and give up the Americanisms that hamper her climb up the career ladder. Arthur is helping her with that project and they come to work very well together.
Stiff Drink made me laugh out loud in several places and shed tears in others. This kind of reaction from me is exactly what I look for in a good book and Blair always delivers just what I need. I nearly forgot to mention that the sexual tension between Arthur and Gen is absolutely delicious!
This boxed set has six additional books by some wonderful authors so I hope you grab a copy of it.
Stiff Drink by Blair Babylon was such a great read despite it being really long! I enjoyed Arthur and Gen as characters since they were very well developed with a good back history developed for them. I also liked Arthur's sense of mystery as to his actions as well as watching the build up between him and Gen since the tension between them was palpable at times. I also liked the mention of some of the characters or events from previous books that have been written. Lynn Raye Harris's Hot Seal Bride had me hooked in typical HOT fashion that had me hooked from the start. Cash and Ella were a well written couple with chemistry. I enjoyed their banter and watching them fall for each other. I enjoyed the return of the characters from the previous books as well as the action that took place in this book. I would recommend this book to others as I enjoyed this book from start to finish.
This was such a fun, sensual anthology, and though the majority of these stories were stand-alone, the ones that weren't had me adding the ones that follow to my TBR. I enjoyed all of them so much, some more than others. But even the problem ones didn't detract from the set altogether. And I found some new authors, which for me is a win-win.
Stiff Drink by Blair Babylon - Genevieve is a lawyer who is looking at becoming a full barrister if she has a hand in her own future. She's also a broken woman with a past she fights to overcome on a daily basis. Enter Arthur Finch-Hatten, hot English Earl and playboy, who is under the scrutiny of his brother who wishes to remove his inheritance from him for his wicked ways. But not everything is as it seems. And when she is assigned as his attorney, more than their opposing personalities combust. It's sexy and exciting, and it forced me to buy the rest of the series.
Bad King by M. Malone - Thane Carter Kingsley IV works too hard and has no room or time for a relationship. But when his parents decide to disinherit him if he doesn't settle down and get married soon, it's game on. Olivia Reyes doesn't know what she's in for when Thane enters her life. And when they strike a deal that is mutually beneficial, her heart could become collateral damage. I loved this story because the pairing was impossible, which made that tension that much more exciting.
A society of Dukes by Gina Robinson - Bliss Harper, the daughter of American Billionaires, has struck a deal with the hundred-year-old Duke of Manly to marry him and produce an heir to keep his estate from being destroyed by his broody but sexy nephew, Ren Sattler. When he dies at the altar, she enters into a marriage to a man she's known only for a day. The secrets within the man and the haunting of the castle lead to a gripping story that had me rushing to buy the rest of the story. It was chilling and heartbreaking, and I need to know what happens next.
His to Princess by Theodora Taylor and Bianca Pierce - When Talia takes over the duties as scullery maid in an abandoned castle after the passing of her grandmother, she discovers it isn't quite as abandoned as she thought. A man she believes to be a homeless veteran squatter seems a bit more problematic when she decides to allow him to remain within the castle as long as he helps her with her chores but discovers he really seems inept concerning even the basics. When she discovers Al is actually a prince who is betrothed to a princess, her world turns upside down. When she runs away from him, only to discover she's pregnant, everything turns again. Though there were moments I thought Talia acted a bit childish, I completely understood her mindset. Reading how they navigated through the choppy waters of this relationship brought tears to my eyes and made me laugh out loud.
Hot SEAL Bride by Lynn Raye Harris - When Princess Antonella Rossi escapes a contract made by her aunt and uncle to sell her virginity to a rich sheikh, she meets Navy SEAL Cash McQuaid who rescues her from a roadside incident that could mean her imprisonment again. Cash just wanted to go on a fishing vacation, and now he's taking care of a runaway princess, hiding her from her family and the lecherous sheikh. When his team comes into the picture and the plan becomes apparent, he marries her to keep her safe. Though the marriage is in name only, the attraction is electric. And when the threat becomes very real, he'll need the help of his team to rescue her and make his own claim. I love stories like this. They're sweet and there's always that unknown factor. Whenever things begin to look up, something is going to happen to change the circumstances, and that's when the heroes become the warriors they're meant to be.
The Duke Who Knew Too Much by Grace Callaway - Alaric McLeod, Duke of Strathaven is known as the Devil Duke for his wicked ways and the rumors that float around him. He has a heart rending past gives him an edge that keeps many at bay and works as a magnet for others, especially those of the female variety who vie to become the next Duchess of Strathaven. When Innocent Emma Kent literally runs into him at a dance, it sets of a chain of events that embroils them both in a murder mystery surrounding a threat against his life. And as they are thrown in close quarters to each other, a sensual tension begins to brew that neither of them may be able to fight. I love a good historical romance, and I have to say that this might have been one of my favorites of this set of stories. It was intriguing and steamy, and I couldn't put it down. I ended up reading it right through the night. I will definitely check out more of this author's works.
Mr. Big by Nana Malone - Emma Welsh has decided to move away from her small village to take photography classes with a famous photographer in London. But from the moment she get into the city, all of the things her parents have worried about with her moving away have been proving possible as her lenses and her planner stolen along with her wallet. And as if she didn't have enough problems, she has her mother and her brother Steven breathing down her neck. When Steven contacts his friend Zach to keep an eye on her, trouble ensues. Emma and Zachary Andrews have known each other since they were children, and she's had a crush on him most of her life. But he moved away to London, and they lost track of each other. Not that it would matter because he's Steven's best friends, and there's a "hands off" rule that comes with that. But as the two begin their friendship anew, the attraction becomes evident, and with that, secrets are destined to come out that no one wants to know. There is at least one story in each anthology that is weaker than the rest, and I'm sorry to say that for me it was this one. There were grammatical and punctuation errors that were annoying, and it was repetitive to the point that I skipped passages because I already knew what they were going to tell me. Though I liked that it was a sweet and sexy story with a happily-ever-after, to me the writing simply wasn't on par with the rest of the stories in the anthology.
This review is for A SOCIETY OF DUKES by Gina Robinson. O my goodness. What a lovely book. I enjoyed every sentence of it. Played out in a castle with all the right trimmings. Ghosts. Secrets. Gossip. Love/hate. The atmosphere of the story is so perfect. People dying and past secrets to be figured out. Very intriguing tale. Very well written. Keeps your attention from the first chapter til the last. Definitely a 1 click series. Can't wait for book 2. It sounds amazing. Will update my review once I read the other books too.
Not 1 but 7 HOT as SIN books purrs.. Oh am I in love or is it Lust. Who really knows??? I love Blair babylons work an re reading working stiff is amazing but also gettin to read the work of some new an talented Ladies as well is a real treat for me. So if you like hot sexy royal stories this is right up your alley..took me all weekend read.. Ok so i devoured the pages like i do all my books. But I loved every moment of it.
I struggled through the first story only to be left hanging cause it ends in another book...SMH...disappointing. The h had too many problems and the H knew too much. Don't even want to read the others least they follow the same path.
Okay this anthology is damned delish! So many hunky men and amazing women. A must read for sure!
Stiff Drink, Blair Babylon How did I not know this is part one of two? Oh, because I just jumped right in when I saw Blair had a new book out!
Believe me when I say Arthur is the bomb. He's sexy AF, British and a Duke...yum..my!
Gen is all sorts of mysterious. She has experienced trauma in her past that has her terrified of men. She is an up and coming lawyer who gets saddled with a case no one wanted.
They couldn't be more opposite from one another but somehow it works! Stiff Drink meanders along with some very interesting turns. I couldn't put it down and I cannot wait for Hard Liquor.
Bad King, M. Malone Ooohhh, Olivia has worked hard to get to where she is...independent, co-owner of the VIP club and able to do whatever she wants.
King enters her club and manages to disrupt her piece of the world. He's scheming and plans to draw Olivia along to help him.
Little do they know...they may be exactly what the other needs.
Society of Dukes, Gina Robinson A jolly good read. Dukes, drama and ghosts! May-September marriage in the works and what twist in the story. I really enjoyed this one! Never read anything by Gina before. Will definitely need to read Duked.
His to Princess, Theordora Taylor & Bianca Pierce Oh Happy Ever After! Talia is home to help her grandfather after her grandmother passes away. Talia takes on her grandmother's role of looking after the old castle. When she encounters a scruffy homeless man in the castle, she does what she can to look after him, what follows is too funny.
Hot Seal Bride, Lynn Raye Harris Oh my! Ella has been held prisoner her whole life and being forced to do what others want is the norm. Until she decides to take her life back...with no real plan in place.
Thankfully Cash is driving by. Nothing goes as planned, rules are broken and love blooms.
The Duke Who Knew Too Much, Grace Calloway Now, this is a lovely story with romance, intrigue and mystery. The twist at the end kind of blindsided me, although something was niggling at the back of my mind for most of the tale.
Mr. Big, Nana Malone In love with her brother's best friend for years, Emma finally gets he chance to move away from home and can't wait.
Zach has been working to better himself since he left home. He means to prove his worth to the whole world.
Emma wants to experience London, but Zach has promised to take care of her...without letting her know.
Such fun. The interactions are hilarious and hot. Fighting it every step of the way.
Gosh it’s so shallow and ridiculous. It feels like every writer added a sentence without reading the others. It’s so boring and about nothing. Can’t find the words for it. So much legal stuff is going on and I don’t want to be a lawyer. If a chapter has five pages I skip four of them. The first book, 25% just forget it and start right at the second book.
book 2 King needs to grow a back bone and find his balls. Because he is just a loser and a trust fund baby Throwing an innocent by stander under bus just for fun mostly because of money. Makes him in my books a loser and a dickhead. And when he talks about Olivia as a girl makes him the little boy he is.
Book 3 I don’t even want to know. After reading the blurb I felt sick Marrying a man who is 100 years old, that’s sick and disgusting. Skipped to the last page and it has a cliffhanger.
So I decided to read this collection because Theodora Taylor had a story included. Unfortunately, it was not my favorite of her writing. It came across to me, like she was trying something New and I can't say that it worked for me. I breezed through some of the other stories, but they weren't my style.
The stories were enthralling and therefore, impossible to put down. Great reading and entertaining set of books.. Engaging material to accompany on a rainy night
Each story was unique. The language in The last one was a bit much as well as some graphic details. However, I would still recommend reading the series.
