Unless you have a particular interest for bats and rodents, this guide covers just about every other kind of mammal found on the continent. It covers the amazing diversity of antelopes and monkeys especially well, and I used it effectively for identifying camera trap photos. Beautiful color drawings of the animals and distribution maps are considered essential components of any respectable reference guide book on wildlife, and this one has them in spades. There are also extensive notes not only on physical description but also habits in the accounts of each species.
