The Amish Christmas Matchmaker by Vannetta Chapman is the fourth novel in Indiana Amish Brides series. Each book in this series can be read on its own, but I have found each one a pleasure to read. I thought The Amish Christmas Matchmaker was a unique and creative story. Annie Kauffmann co-owns Plain & Simple Weddings with Englischer, Priscilla. They provide the wedding meal for Amish weddings with their portable kitchen and are quite successful. Then Levi Lapp wearing his cowboy boots and h ...more

Vannetta Chapman’s creativity with an Amish matchmaker who had a catering business brought a twist to her Indiana Amish Brides series with Love Inspired. Annie Kauffmann and her English partner were busy with weddings. Their business was doing well and she didn’t consider having a courtship herself.

Levi Lapp was full of himself with his cowboy hat and boots coming to Goshen. Levi was working at the Kauffmann farm part time while busy recruiting Amish families to join him and move to Texas. His

While I often say I’m not a fan of Amish fiction, it’s mostly due to my lack of reading in the drama. When I do read it, I enjoy it.

Vannetta Chapman adds some unique and interesting twists in The Amish Christmas Matchmaker. Annie is a businesswoman who owns and operates a catering company with an Englischer. Levi wears a cowboy hat and boots as he sets about putting together a group to move from Indiana and settle a new community in Texas.

Annie and Levi are at odds in the

This was such a creative and unique story! I honestly did not know how things would wrap up at the end of the book. I knew there would be some sort of happily-ever-after, of course, but the author really kept me wondering with this one.

Annie and Levi, were two people who didn’t realize that they were falling in love with each other in the midst of arguing over Levi’s dream to move a group of Amish families to Texas. I found myself flipping back and forth between who I thought was “ri

This isn’t the typical Amish fiction book and that made it fun to read. An Amish woman with a catering company who’s a matchmaker on the side? An Amish cowboy in a stetson? Come on, try to tell me that’s typical. Fun characters make this story rich.

In The Amish Christmas Matchmaker, we see that life becomes so difficult when we want something other than what God wants for our lives, or the lives of our loved ones. But when we come into alignment with His will, watch what happens! ...more

This is a different twist on an Amish story, and yes, I enjoyed it. That being said I knew the ending early on, but it was an interesting journey getting there, and a few surprises.
When the person you love is almost taken from you, sometimes you wake up and realize what is really important!
I did love the epilogue at the end of the book, it really makes me want to carry on in the lives of these characters.

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Harlequin,

Favorite quote.
“It is in the LORD’S hands and I am good with that.” One of my favorite quote in the book.
Dreams! Everyone has loads of that. But what happens when we are so subsumed by our dreams that we don’t see any other thing and we ignore or fight God’s plans for our life?
That was the story of Annie and Levi.
They both had dreams and plans for how they wanted their lives to turn out but God had plans for them and it was so beautifully crafted out in this book.

If you are tired of the typical Amish tales, then this is definitely the book for you. It is far from the norm of this genre. Annie is a girl who has a mind of her own and is not afraid to use it! She is the owner and operator of a catering business, but is also a determined matchmaker. This is unusual in itself, but then entering the scene is a cowboy hat wearing Amish man! These characters are described is such a detailed, realistic way that you are immediately drawn into their lives and walk

Annie Kauffman is coming into her own with a thriving catering business, and she is thriving in Indiana. Levi Lapp comes strolling in with his Stetson hat, appealing to her father's adventuring spirit, he convinces him to come back with Levi to Texas to start an Amish Colony there, which means that Annie would have to go to Texas as well. A friend suggests that if Annie helps him to find a wife, so that he won't want to move.

Good story about two people who have very definite and very different dreams for their futures. Annie has her booming wedding business in the town where she grew up, close to friends and family. She loves helping others achieve their happily-ever-afters even if she has given up on one of her own. Levi is a visitor to their community. He wants to start an Amish community in Texas, fulfilling a dream he's had since he was a child. Being a romance, you know how the story will end, but the journey o ...more

I do love a good Christmas story, and Vannetta Chapman’s The Amish Christmas Matchmaker is my first one for the upcoming season (though I couldn’t resist reading a few for Christmas in July, of course). This new Indiana Amish Brides story has me looking forward to delving into more seasonal ones in a few weeks.

Annie Kauffmann has worked hard to build her successful wedding business, which is firmly rooted in her dear Amish community. But Levi Lapp’s attempts to convince her father to

I love her books and I really enjoyed this one to the fullest! Her writing is unique.
I think her Amish books are the best!!
Poor Annie!! She's determined to dig her heels in! For which I don't blame her.
Her daed is a piece of work. He has wanderlust again!! Will he pack up the family and move to Texas or will it wear out within the week?

This was a very good idea. I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't a typical Amish story. Annie is a very independent business owner and Levi has dreams and goals of living the Amish life in Texas. It is interesting how this story comes together and how they make it work.

A pleasant romantic read that will guarantee to make your heart and soul feel good.

This is the fourth book in Chapman’s Indiana Bride series but you can read each as a stand-alone with no issues.

The story of Annie and Levi teaches is that God knows what is best and will lead us in the right direction when the time is right.

As always, Chapman uses the right amount of religion without being overbearing. I appreciate the clean romance of her romance novels.

I’ve yet to read a Vannetta Chapman story I didn’t like, what a gifted storyteller!

The Amish Christmas Matchmaker is the fourth in Chapman’s Indiana Amish Brides series, from Love Inspired. Annie Kauffman has spent several years building up her wedding catering business and now its thriving. She is content with her life in her small Indiana Amish community.

Then along comes Levi Lapp, looking silly wearing his Amish clothing with a cowboy hat and boots; and his hair, no respectable Amish man ha

What happens when a stranger appears in town, wearing a cowboy hat and boots, and reveals that his name is Levi Lapp? How does a twenty-four year old Amish woman truly feel about this "Amish cowboy" who greets her with "Howdy, ma'am" and wants her family and other Amish families to leave Goshen, Indiana, and set up an Amish community in Texas? These are the circumstances surrounding Levi Lapp's arrival and Annie Kauffmann isn't about to let him suceed. She and her English friend Priscilla have a ...more

Weddings are important to all cultures, but they are a community event for the Amish, so the guest list can be in the hundreds.  This is often too much for one family to deal with, so Annie started a wedding business.  She and her partner will do all the planning, cooking, serving, and clean up for the wedding, freeing the family to enjoy the day.  She loves her work, and the money she earns is helping her family.  Until the day Levi arrives.  He wants to start a new Amish community in Texas and ...more

The Amish Christmas Matchmaker by Vannetta Chapman is a delightful contemporary Amish novel that is perfect for any time of year.
Vannetta Chapman has created a wonderful warm set of characters. The Amish are made for community. They work together to meet needs. If one of their own is hurt, the hospital waiting room will be filled with many faces.
The dialogue bounces backwards and forwards between the two main characters as they try to deny their mutual attractions.

My Thoughts on The Amish Christmas Matchmaker:
The Amish Christmas Matchmaker is such a fun read! You get these two headstrong characters with opposing views coming together to “fool” others! This is the first Amish romance book I’ve read by Vannetta Chapman and it’s definitely a great one! I’ve read her Christian suspense books and have really enjoyed those so I was excited to try this one out.

A Delightful Story

While The Amish Christmas Matchmaker is Amish fiction, some of the characters are somewhat out of the ordinary and not quite what you would expect to find in such a story, which is just one of the things that makes this such a delightful read.

Annie Kaufman has a thriving wedding business. While owning her own business isn’t a unique situation, co-owning it with an Englischer is somewhat out of the ordinary, and such is the case for Annie. She loves what she d

The Amish Christmas Matchmaker by Vennetta Chapman is the 4th of the Indiana Amish Brides series that is a great stand alone read. It's never too early to read a lovely Christmas love story where the focus is the family, the community and most of all "Gotte".

A wonderful story set in Indiana but with Texas roots! Annie has a successful catering business and does a bit of matchmaking on the side. Life is good and busy but the arrival of Levi, a Texas Amish cowboy, turns her world topsy turvy with his idea of finding interested families to move to a new community in Texas. Annie is dismayed to learn her father and mother might be one of those families! Annie and Levi don't see eye to eye so life becomes very interesting to say the least!

This fantastic story is almost an oxymoron...An Amish matchmaker?!? But then again no matter what, we all need love in our lives.
Annie Kaufman actually has a wedding business so it's not all love and games. However, she doesn't seem to have any romance in her own life. And it seems that Annie is quite happy with her life so when Levi Lapp begi
