Officer Megan Luz and her K-9 partner Brigit enjoy their patrol duties in Fort Worth, TX. Sometimes when the weather is nice and the day quiet, they like to go patrol a bit at the local zoo. But unfortunately, an animal napper is at work at their favorite hang-out. First a pair of valuable Macaws go missing.....then other animals disappear...even a black rhino. Who is stealing animals from the zoo? Officer Luz and Brigit are determined to catch the animal thief and bring peace back to their ...more

Paw of The Jungle is the 8th book in the Paw Enforcement series by author Diane Kelly, which focuses on Fort Worth Police Officer Megan Luz and her K-9 partner, Briget. The author has a sharp wit that shines through in her storytelling, including the chapter headings. (My favorite in this book was Chapter 17 "Who Dung It").

In Paw of The Jungle, the plot centers around animals that mysteriously disappear from The Fort Worth Zoo. The chapters are told through the eyes of Officer Megan Luz, Briget

Paw of the Jungle by Diane Kelly is the 8th A Paw Enforcement series. Each book in the series can be read on its own, but I recommend reading each book in this entertaining series. Megan and Brigit have two new cases to solve in Fort Worth, Texas. Someone is making off with animals from the local zoo. They need to stop this thief once they figure out how they are getting into the habitats. A woman reports her ring stolen and it is just the beginning of a spree. Plus, there is a new paramedic at ...more

I love this fabulous series; each novel is better than the last! I have enjoyed watching Megan grow into a responsible police officer and close to her partner, K-9 Sergeant Brigit. There is much LOL humor, especially the bad guy’s last attempt at being a bad guy. The mysteries are definitely challenging, and this time is no different.

Megan wants to become a detective but has to spend at least four years as a beat cop before applying. Giving traffic tickets isn’t her favorite thing to do, but

The story is set up in an interesting manner presenting mostly two different perspectives in alternating chapters. One is of the poacher, an ex-con trying to good. The other is of police officer Megan Luz, aspiring detective and dog handler. For fun there are short chapters giving police dog Brigit's thoughts.

I was questioning what was going on in the beginning because of the going back and forth between two unrelated characters but it all comes together nicely making an unique set up for this

"Paw of the Jungle" is told from the point of view of Megan Luz, an officer with the Fort Worth Police Department, as well as from her K-9 partner Brigit, and an unknown person called “The Poacher.” Megan and Brigit investigate a case of animals going missing from the Fort Worth Zoo, as well as a series of robberies. The black market for animals is a ruthless business and Megan has to solve the case to protect the animals as well as herself.

When I began reading this book, I didn’t realize there

Another entertaining mystery with Officer Megan and her canine partner Brigit!

The background for the mystery, a zoo, was intriguing and different. The theme of exotic animal theft, from the zoo, made for a interesting and eye-opening book. As always, the author has a way of not only writing a great mystery, but the way she crafts the backstories of the characters and has the characters speak from their point of view makes for a wonderful read! I like the way she shows the complicated

This is a fun and entertaining read that has Megan and k-9 Bridget on the hunt for poachers that repeatedly steal beloved animals from the zoo. As community outrage and pressure to find the poachers mounts, Megan and Bridget work long hours trying to solve the crimes. Add in an the additional puzzling disappearance of expensive rings just in time for Christmas and Megan and Bridget are working overtime to serve the community.

This book has all the humor you would expect in one of the author's

Police officer Megan Luz and her K-9 partner in crime, Brigit, are back and paws deep in not one but two mysteries. Rings of the well to do are going missing and animals are being stolen from the zoo. This one is going to keep our crime fighters busy through the holidays.
I love this series so much. Megan is so serious and driven and Brigit is so competent and laid back. I love watching this crime fighting team take down the bad guys and keeping Ft. Worth safe. This is a terrific addition to the

Fort Worth Texas officer, Megan Luz is back with her K-9 service dog, Brigit. Her favorite guy, Seth, also has a service dog, a yellow Lab named Blast. Seth is a bomb squad technician and firefighter.

Once again, the story is told in multiple POVs, one being protagonist Megan, along with Brigit, and the antagonist, dubbed The Poacher, whose elevator never reaches the top floor. There is a little romance between the Lab and Brigit and Seth and Megan, but it never overpowers the well-plotted

From St. Martin’s comes the latest and perhaps the best one yet in the “A Paw Enforcement Novel,” a police dog cozy series by Diane Kelly, Paw of the Jungle.

This addition to the award-winning police dog cozy series is wonderfully enjoyable with just a slight hint of sadness. Whenever animals are endangered or abused, it is not

I decided awhile back to just give Diane Kelly her own spot on my must read list, regardless of what series she's writing. Bottom line, if she writes it I will enjoy every word. From her Death and Taxes series to her new House Flipper series - I'm a happy reader. Full of humor and information about very interesting things, she never disappoints me, eight books in this series and each a pleasure to read.
If you are new to this series, not a problem to read this as a stand alone but, if you come to

I was given this book for free for the purpose of review.

This is book 8 in an 8 book series. I read book 7 and liked it and gave it a good review, so the author solicited me to read this. I decided to give it a whirl.

This book is about a police dog handler and her dog-partner, in their attempt to solve a series of animal thefts from a local zoo. Megan the detective is a fun character to be around, both serious but with a generous heart. Brigit her police dog is equal parts silly and

I usually like to read series in the order the books come out and I own the first of this series in my Kindle library although I’ve not found the time to read it but when the opportunity came through NetGalley to read the latest book of the series, I jumped in. Really glad I did too!!! Reading this one now makes me want to read the first 7!

I liked the fact that while the story revolves around two women sleuths, a human and a canine one, they are not really amateurs like we often see in cozy

Paw of the Jungle by Diane Kelly 5 star or [5 liver treats]

The 2019 entry in the Paw Enforcement Series after last years "The Long Paw of the Law" is a total delight. This series has never been a disappointment and this entry kept me guessing on who the criminal was.

Officer Megan Luz and her K-9 partner Brigit are on the case of missing animals from the Fort Worth zoo. First it was a pair of macaws, then a monkey; who will the next victim be? The public is clamoring for answers and there are

Cozy mysteries featuring animals aren’t every mystery reader’s cup of tea, for sure, but there’s something about a K-9 that lifts the subgenre a little above the pack…pun intended If nothing else, the dog and his handler have a legitimate reason as well as the training to investigate and that’s certainly true with Megan’s and Brigit’s latest adventure.

Megan and Brigit are patrol officers, not usually involved in wildlife thefts and black market activities, but Megan has aspirations of getting

Megan is a police officer in Fort Worth, Texas. Her partner is Brigit, a German Shepherd. She has two cases on the go. Women are losing their rings and Megan is determined to find out who is stealing them and how. The second case involves animals that are disappearing from a zoo and it's up to Megan and Brigit to figure out who is stealing them.

I've read many books by this author and I liked this one. Though it's the eighth in the Paw Enforcement series, it can work as a stand alone and you

Well this one (Book 8) was as fun as Book 7 which I also read. This makes at least three books in the series that I have read and enjoyed. This one has a somewhat different theme, but Megan still loves Seth and most of the time I think Seth loves Megan but...I did still have to wonder sometimes. I think Megan wondered now and then too. As far as Brigit and Blast...well dogs are loyal right? Nothing is as fun as having two canine cop handlers and two k-9’s. (kind of a mouthful). How could this ...more

This is one of my favorite series. I know Officer Megan Luz and her canine partner Brigit will always deliver laughter and interesting mysteries. Getting the canine point of view is one I look forward to. Diane Kelly has definitely mastered the canine language.

In Paw of the Jungle someone is stealing valuable zoo animals and no one can figure out how it's happening.
The zoo is a regular stopping point for Megan and Brigit when they're on patrol so Megan is happy to help Detective Bustemente work

This is one of my auto-buy series. I love reading about the adventures of Officer Luz and Officer Brigit! Brigit's attitude reminds me a lot of my own german shepherds larger than life personality.

In this book, Megan and Brigit are investigating the theft of multiple animals from the zoo. It wasn't my favourite case of the ones they've been involved in, but I was definitely still invested. I loved reading about the ongoing relationship between Megan and Seth, and of course Brigit and Blast.

Paw of The Jungle is the 8th book in the Paw Enforcement series by author Diane Kelly, which focuses on Fort Worth Police Officer Megan Luz and her K-9 partner, Brigit. This is a standalone story and the first I have had the opportunity to read.

I found it well-written with a fast pace. This book has an interesting twist, some of the chapters are written from the dog’s point of view and some are from the poacher’s point of view.

I liked that there were several sub-plots going on in the book. Also,

Full disclosure: I haven't read the other books in this series. So I hadn't really "met" Meghan and her K-9 Brigit yet. I will probably go back and read the first 7 just so I can get the whole picture of this series. But suffice to say, this review is strictly on this book without knowing any backstory of Meghan and Birgit - so you can take this review with a grain of salt and I won't be hurt :)

Paw of the Jungle by Diane Kelly has a setting that I knew nothing about even though I had a friend who lived in Ft. Worth for many years. The zoo setting is wonderfully described, encouraging me to go online to experience it. The missing animals made for an attention grabbing hook into the story.

Great Cozy Police Dog Mystery
This novel is eight in its series and stands alone very well. I have not read the previous books and was not lost at all. Of course, I love this book so much that I will go back and read the others. This story has lots of animals, two great working dogs, a bit of romance, and an interesting mystery or two. Is there an animal trafficker stealing the valuable animals? This could be deadly, especially when a black rhino is taken. You get the "poacher" perspective as well as Megan and Brigit's, which is a nice way to tell the tale. I would have been happy with just the animal angle but the ring thefts rounded things out.
